Effects of exercise by type and duration on quality of life in patients with digestive system cancers:A systematic review and network meta-analysis

Background:There is scant evidence regarding the effects of exercise type and duration on quality of life(QoL)in digestive system cancer(DSC)*** aim to investigate the optimal type and duration of exercise to improve QoL for DSC survivors through a systematic review and network ***:A systematic literature search of PubMed,Embase,and Web of Science was *** for study inclusion was limited to studies that were randomized controlled trials involving all kinds of exercise in adult patients with DSCs,and the comparator was in standard care or other types of *** primary outcome was QoL,including general health,physical health,mental health,and role *** outcomes included cancer-related symptoms such as fatigue,insomnia,depression,anxiety,and duration of hospital *** network meta-analyses were performed using a random-effect ***:The analysis included 32 eligible articles and a total of 2558 *** primary outcome indicated that short-term aerobic exercise significantly enhanced general health(standardized mean difference(SMD)=0.66,95%credible intervals(Crls):0.05 to 1.30),and also contributed to a better mental health(SMD=0.38,95%CrI:-0.05 to 0.81)and role function(SMD=0.48,95%CrI:-0.27 to 1.20).Although without significant changes,short-term resistance exercise tended to increase the physical health of patients with DSCs(SM=0.69,95%CrI:-0.07 to 1.50)and effective in alleviating fatigue(SMD=-0.77,95%CrI:-1.50 to 0.01).Short-term aerobic exercise was related to a lower score of insomnia(SMD=-1.20,95%CrI:-2.40 to 0.06),depression(SMD=-0.51,95%CrI:-1.50 to 0.45),and anxiety(SMD=-0.45,95%CrI:-1.30 to 0.34).All types of exercise related to a trend of declined hospital stays(-0.87 to-5.00 day).Long-term resistance exercise,however,was negatively associated with general health(SMD=-0.33,95%CrI:-1.70 to 1.00),physical health(SMD=-0.18,95%CrI:-1.30to 0.90),and role function(SMD=-1.20,95%CrI:

Spatial variability of summertime aragonite saturation states and its influencing factor in the Bering Sea

The Bering sea is susceptible to ocean acidification driven by both human activities(anthropogenic CO_(2))and distinctive natural *** assess the situation of ocean acidification,we investigated the spatial variability of aragonite saturation states(ΩAr)in July 2010 during the 4th Chinese National Arctic Research Expedition(CHINARE).The surface waters were all oversaturated with respect to aragonite(ΩAr>1)due to high biological removal,andΩAr ranged from 1.43 to *** relatively lowΩAr values were found in the western Bering Strait and eastern nearshore region of the Bering Sea Shelf,which were associated with the upwelling and riverine input,*** the subsurface,theΩAr decreased to generally low saturation states and were observed to be strongly undersaturated(ΩArlike prior studies,the lowΩAr values in the shallow nearshore region were still above the saturation horizon throughout the water column,which were probably counteracted by high local primary *** the context of climate change and increasing anthropogenic CO_(2)absorption,the suppression and undersaturation ofΩAr in the Bering Sea are not only attributed to the natural processes but also the accumulation of anthropogenic CO_(2).

New Taub-NUT black holes with massive spin-2 hair

Seismic isolation design and resilience improvement of railway station considering the influence of near-fault pulse-like ground motions

To improve the resilience of railway stations,a typical station was selected as the research object,and an isolation design was ***-four groups of near-fault pulse-like ground motions were *** seismic resilience of the no-isolation railway stations(NIRS)and the isolation railway stations(IRS)were compared to provide a numerical result of the improvement in *** results show that in the station isolation design,the station's functional requirements and structural characteristics should be considered and the appropriate placement of isolation bearings is under the waiting *** the action of a rare earthquake,the repair cost,repair time,rate of harm and death of the IRS were decreased by 8.04 million,18.30 days,6.93×10^(-3)and 1.21×10^(-3),respectively,when compared to the *** IRS received a seismic resilience grade of three-stars and the NIRS only one-star,indicating that rational isolation design improves the seismic resilience of ***,for the design of stations close to earthquake faults,it is suggested to utilize appropriate isolation techniques to improve their seismic resilience.

Upgrade Procedure for the Delingha 13.7-m Telescope

The 13.7-m millimeter-wave radio telescope of Purple Mountain Observatory operates at 3200-m above the sea level near Delingha, qinghai Province, China. Equipped with a superconducting SIS receiver, the telescope is used in the millimeter-wave band ranging from 85 to 115 GHz. An upgrade procedure is reported here which includes a superconducting SIS receiver, a new phase-locked local oscillator, a dedicated multi-line backend system, and a new control system based on industrial computer with PCI bus. With the dedicated multi-line backend system, the CO and isotopic lines around 110 GHz are obtained simultaneously. In recent years, scientific activities with this telescope have been focused on studies of Galactic molecular clouds and star formation regions, including surveys of molecular lines from IRAS sources and large-scale map of molecular clouds. Other programs include studies of the circumstellar envelope of late-type stars and interaction of Galactic supernova remnants with dense molecular gas.

Upper Bounds on the Multicolor Ramsey Numbers r_(k)(C_(4))

The multicolor Ramsey number r_(k)(C_(4))is the smallest integer N such that any k-edge coloring of KN contains a monochromatic C_(4).The current best upper bound of r_(k)(C_(4))was obtained by Chung(1974)and independently by Irving(1974),i.e.,r_(k)(C_(4))≤k^(2)+k+1 for all k≥*** is no progress on the upper bound since *** this paper,we improve the upper bound of r_(k)(C_(4))by showing that r_(k)(C_(4))≤k^(2)+k-1 for even k≥*** improvement is based on the upper bound of the Turan number ex(n,C4),in which we mainly use the double counting method and many novel ideas from Firke,Kosek,Nash,and Williford[***,Ser.B 103(2013),327-336].
