Thermodynamic Properties of Carbon and Manganese in Mn-C and Mn-Fe-C Melts

Carbon solubility in Mn Fe melts （xMn =0. 083-0. 706, XFe =0. 034-0. 715） was measured experimentally at various temperatures. By thermodynamic derivation and calculation, the relationship between activity coefficient of carbon in infinite dilute solution of manganese in Mn-C system and temperature was obtained. Using Gibbs-Duhem relationship, the experimental results of this study, and experimental data obtained by strict thermodynamic derivation and calculation in references, the relationships between other thermodynamic properties （εCC, εCCC, εCFe, εCCFe, and εCFeFe） in Mn-Fe-C system and temperature were obtained.

Carbon solubility in Fe-Mn melts （XFe =0. 102 3-0. 789 9, XMn =0. 055 1-0. 638 0） was measured experimentally at various temperatures. Using Gibbs-Duhem equation, in combination with the experimental results in this work, quoting experimental data reported in references, and by strict thermodynamic derivation and calculation, the relation equations between the activity interaction parameters in Fe-C system and temperature were obtained. The calculation equation of lnyFe. in Fe-C system was also obtained. The calculated results show that these relation equations can be used to calculate the activity coefficients of carbon and iron in Fe-C system and can satisfy the necessary condition to satisfy Gibbs-Duhem equation and the necessary condition to satisfy the stability condition of system at high carbon content. The calculation formula for lnTc in Fe-Mn-C system was also obtained.

The first micro segregation under conditions of twin roll strip casting was simulated. The relationship between the temperature and solid fraction in the mushy zone was given. The temperatures such as ZDT, LIT were got from this simulation. Then using the turbulent model, the flow field and thermal field in the pool of twin roll strip caster was simulated. The speed and temperature at different casting speed was given, and the results were also explained. By these two simulations, the appropriate casting speed can be found. These simulations can provide effective data for controlling the twin roll strip casting process.

Pancreatic diseases, including mass-forming chronic pancreatitis (MFCP) and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC), present with similar imaging features, leading to diagnostic complexities. Deep Learning (DL) methodshave been shown to perform well on diagnostic tasks. Existing DL pancreatic lesion diagnosis studies basedon Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) utilize the prior information to guide models to focus on the lesionregion. However, over-reliance on prior information may ignore the background information that is helpful fordiagnosis. This study verifies the diagnostic significance of the background information using a clinical ***, the Prior Difference Guidance Network (PDGNet) is proposed, merging decoupled lesion andbackground information via the Prior Normalization Fusion (PNF) strategy and the Feature Difference Guidance(FDG) module, to direct the model to concentrate on beneficial regions for diagnosis. Extensive experiments inthe clinical dataset demonstrate that the proposed method achieves promising diagnosis performance: PDGNetsbased on conventional networks record an ACC (Accuracy) and AUC (Area Under the Curve) of 87.50% and89.98%, marking improvements of 8.19% and 7.64% over the prior-free benchmark. Compared to lesion-focusedbenchmarks, the uplift is 6.14% and 6.02%. PDGNets based on advanced networks reach an ACC and AUC of89.77% and 92.80%. The study underscores the potential of harnessing background information in medical imagediagnosis, suggesting a more holistic view for future research.

A Brillouin dynamic grating(BDG) can be used for distributed birefringence measurement in optical fibers,offering high sensitivity and spatial resolution for sensing ***,it is quite a challenge to simultaneously achieve dynamic measurements with both high accuracy and high spatial *** this work,we propose a sensing mechanism to achieve distributed phase-matching measurement using a chirped pulse as a probe *** BDG reflection,the peak reflection corresponds to the highest four-wave mixing(FWM) conversion efficiency,and it requires the Brillouin frequency in the fast and slow axes to be equal,which is called the phase-matching *** condition changes at different fiber positions,which requires a range of frequency injection for the probe *** proposed method uses a chirped pulse as a probe wave to cover this frequency range associated with distributed birefringence *** allows us to detect distributed phase matching for birefringence changes that are introduced by temperature and strain *** to the single shot and direct time delay measurement capability,the acquisition rate in our system is only limited by the fiber ***,unlike conventional BDG spectrum recovery-based systems,the spatial resolution here is determined by both the frequency chirping rate of the probe pulse and the birefringence profile of the *** the experiments,an acquisition rate of 1 k Hz(up to fiber length limits) and a spatial resolution of 10 cm using a 20 ns probe pulse width are *** minimum detectable temperature and strain variation are 5.6 mK and 0.37 με along a 2 km long polarization-maintaining fiber(PMF).

The solubility of nitrogen in Fe-C-B-N system was measured at 1 758 K,and the computational model on activity （action concentration） of nitrogen and boron was established based on phase diagram and the coexistence theory about metal melt structure model. Comparing the computed results with the experimental results,satisfactory conclusion can be obtained. The result shows that BN and B4C can exist in Fe-C-B-N molten metal at high temperature,which consequently restrains the nitrogen removal from the melt. However,B4C content is extremely low. Before graphite is precipitated,the influence of carbon on activity of nitrogen in melt is higher in ternary system than in binary system; however,this effect is contrary to that after graphite is precipitated.
