Objective To study the adsorption of 5-Amino-2-chlorotoluene-4-sulfonic (CLT) and chlorhydric (HCl) acids from wastewater by weakly basic resin. Methods The kinetics and isotherm were studied. Thermodynamic parameters for the adsorption of acids were calculated and discussed. Results The adsorption of CLT and HCl acids followed Langmuir isotherm and the first-order kinetics model. Conclusion The adsorptive affinity of the two acids on D301R is in the order of CLT acid 〉 HCl acid. CLT and HCl acids can be separated.

Objective Nitrobenzene extraction enhanced by salting-out effect was employed to recover aniline from wastewater at 25 ℃. Method Batchwise experiments were conducted to elucidate the influence of various operating variables on the extracting performance, including acidity of wastewater, initial aniline concentration, ratios of solvent to wastewater, extraction stages, concentrations and different types of inorganic salts, such as NaCl, KCI, Na2SO4, CaCl2 and K29O4. Results Nitrobenzene with a concentration of 20% and a pH value of 9.1 at the temperature of 25 ℃ together with NaCl of a concentration of 14 wt.% realized nearly 100% aniline recovery at the fifth stage of wastewater treatment. Conclusions High pH values and volume ratios of nitrobenzene/wastewater are more suitable for recovery of aniline. In addition, recovery of aniline is significantly elevated with increase of the concentration of salts, whose promoting effects are in the following order: NaCI〉Na2SO4〉K2SO4〉CaC12〉KCI on the weight basis of wastewater. Furthermore, aniline in wastewater can be almost completely recovered by five-stage sequential nitrobenzene extraction, which is promoted continuously by the salting-out effect.

The evacuation of crowds in a building has always emerged as a vital issue in many accidents. The geometrical structure of a room, especially the exit design has a great influence on crowd evacuation under emergency conditions. In this paper, the effect of exit location of a room on crowd evacuation in an emergency is investigated with mice. Two different exits are set in a rectangular chamber. One is located in the middle of a wall(middle-exit) and the other is at the corner of the chamber(corner-exit). Arching and clogging are observed in the flow of mice. The result based on the escape trajectories of mice shows a dynamic balance in the arch near the exit wherever the exit is located. We demonstrate that the occupant position in the arch has an effect on the escape sequence of mice. At a low stimulation level, the narrow middle-exit is more effective in increasing the flow rate of mice than the narrow corner-exit. However, the opposite result appears when the exit becomes wider. At a high stimulation level, the effect of exit location on flow of mice tends to be weakened. The results suggest that the specific level of stimulation needs to be taken into account when optimizing the evacuation efficiency of a crowd through the geometrical structure of a room.

This paper extends the one-dimensional(1D) nonlocal strain gradient integral model(NStraGIM) to the two-dimensional(2D) Kirchhoff axisymmetric nanoplates,based on nonlocal strain gradient integral relations formulated along both the radial and circumferential directions. By transforming the proposed integral constitutive equations into the equivalent differential forms, complemented by the corresponding constitutive boundary conditions(CBCs), a well-posed mathematical formulation is established for analyzing the axisymmetric bending and buckling of annular/circular functionally graded(FG) sandwich nanoplates. The boundary conditions at the inner edge of a solid nanoplate are derived by L'H?spital's rule. The numerical solution is obtained by the generalized differential quadrature method(GDQM). The accuracy of the proposed model is validated through comparison with the data from the existing literature. A parameter study is conducted to demonstrate the effects of FG sandwich parameters, size parameters, and nonlocal gradient parameters.

The high activity and stability of intermetallic PtCo nanocatalysts toward oxygen reduction reaction make them a top candidate as low-Pt cathode catalysts in proton exchange membrane fuel cells（PEMFCs）.However,forming intermetallic structures typically requires high-temperature annealing,posing a challenge for achieving well-size control and highly ordered *** we report the design and synthesis of bimetallic co re@shell structured precursors for affording high-performance intermetallic PtCo *** fabrication of the core@shell precursor involves using a molecular ligand containing both sulfur and oxygen donors to selectively bind with Pt colloidal nanoparticles as the core and chelate Co ions as the *** high-temperature annealing,the ligand transforms into carbon coatings around alloy nanoparticles,preventing particle sintering;meanwhile,Co ions in the shell can easily diffuse into the Pt core,which helps to increase the thermodynamic driving force for forming intermetallic *** benefits enable us to obtain the catalyst with finely dispersed nanoparticles（～3.5 nm）and a high ordering degree of 72%.With 0.1 mgPt/cm2cathode loading,the catalyst delivers superior performance and durability in PEMFCs,showing an initial mass activity of 0.56 A/mgPt,an initial power density of 1.05 W/cm2at 0.67 V（H2-air）,and a voltage loss of 26 mV at 0.8 A/cm2after the accelerated durability test.

The coupling between heat and pressure is the kernel of inertia friction welding(IFW)and is still not fully understood.A novel 3D fully coupled finite element model based on a plastic friction pair was developed to simulate the IFW process of a Ni-based superalloy and reveal the omnidirectional thermo-mechanical coupling mechanism of the friction *** numerical model successfully simulated the deceleration,deformation processes,and peak torsional moments in IFW and captured the evolution of temperature,contact pressure,and *** simulated results were validated through measured thermal history,optical macrography,and axial *** results indicated that interfacial friction heat was the primary heat source,and plastic deformation energy only accounted for 4%of the *** increase in initial rotational speed and friction pressure elevated the peak temperature,reaching a maximum of 1525.5K at an initial rotational speed of 2000 r/min and friction pressure of 400 *** interface heat generation could form an axial temperature gradient exceeding 320K/*** radial inhomogeneities of heat generation and temperature were manifested in a concentric ring distribution with maximum heat flux and temperature ranging from 2/5 to 2/3 *** radial inhomogeneities were caused by increasing linear velocity along the radius and an opposite distribution of contact pressure,which could reach 1.7 times the set pressure at the *** circumferential inhomogeneity of thermomechanical distribution during rotary friction welding was revealed for the first time,benefiting from the 3D *** deflection and transformation of distribution in contact pressure and Mises stress were indicators of plastic deformation and transition of quasi-steady state *** critical Mises stress was 0.5 times the friction pressure in this *** presented modeling provides a reliable insight into the thermo-mechanical coupling mechanism of IFW and lays a solid found

Background Vascular endothelial growth factor （VEGF） is one of major mediators of angiogenesis and survival factor in some tissue, however, its direct effects on cardiomyocytes remain poorly understood. Methods Rat neonatal ventricular myocytes were cultured in vitro. Akt phosphorylation was measured by Western blotting; the expression of stromal cell-derived factor α（SDF-1α）/CXCR4 axis was evaluated by real-time PCR and Western blotting. LY294002 and AMD3100 were used to interfere with the signaling of VEGF and SDF-1α/CXCR4 axis. Cardiac myocytes viability and injury were evaluated by trypan blue staining and lactate dehydrogenase （LDH） release. Results Treatment of neonatal rat ventricular myocytes with VEGF induced phosphorylation of Akt in a dose and FIk-1 dependent manner. VEGF attenuated H202 induced cardiac myocyte death. The phosphoinositol-3-kinase （PI3K） inhibitor, LY294002 and FIk-1 antibody abolished the beneficial effects of VEGF on H202 induced cell death. In the mean time SDF-1α-CXCR4 axis was up-regulated by VEGF through PI3K-Akt signaling and contributed to the protective effects of VEGF on H202 induced cell death. Interestingly, SDF-1α also promoted production of VEGF in cultured cardiac myocytes and LY294002 reversed the up-reguLation of VEGF induced by SDF-1α. Conclusion VEGF has direct protective effects on cardiomyocytes; a crosstalk between VEGF and SDF-1α through PI3K-Akt serves a survival role in cardiomvocvtes in vitro.

为开展破片群侵彻下纤维增强层合板的防护设计,采用瞬态非线性有限元,进行了破片群侵彻下纤维增强层合板破坏机理的研究。阐明破片群侵彻下纤维增强层合板的破坏模式及过程,揭示破片群侵彻能力的增强效应,并分析破片数量、破片初速和破片间距因素对其影响规律,提出了破片群穿甲能力的等效方法。结果表明:与单破片侵彻相比,破片群的穿甲能力大大增强,其可与增大长度的单破片穿甲能力等效,为破片群侵彻下结构的穿甲防护设计提供了参考。

In this paper,the diffusive nutrient-microorganism model subject to Neumann boundary conditions is *** Hopf bifurcations and steady state bifurcations which bifurcate from the positive constant equilibrium of the system are investigated in *** addition,the formulae to determine the direction of Hopf and steady state bifurcations are *** results show the existence of spatially homogeneous/nonhomogeneous periodic orbits and steady state solutions,which indicates the spatiotemporal dynamics of the *** numerical simulations are also presented to support the analytical results.

Proliferation suppression and apoptosis are the prominent characteristics induced by heat stress（HS） in cells, whereas the effects of HS on cell growth（mass accumulation） are unknown. In this study, Lantang swine（an indigenous breed of China） skeletal muscle satellite cells（SCs） were pre-cultured at 37 °C for 24 h. The HS group was subjected to HS at 41 °C, while the control group was maintained at 37 °C. Heat shock protein 70（HSP70） expression and SC size are significantly increased（P〈0.05） by HS, but cell proliferation is suppressed（P〈0.05） and apoptosis is induced（P〈0.05）. HS led to a lower percentage of SCs in the G0/G1 phase（P〈0.05） together with a higher percentage of SCs in the S phase（P〈0.05）. However, the percentage of SCs in the G2/M phase was decreased（P〈0.05） at 48 h but then increased（P〈0.05） at 72 h with HS. In addition, the phosphorylation ratios of protein kinase b（Akt）, ribosomal protein S6 kinase（S6K）, and ribosomal protein S6 were increased（P〈0.05） by HS. Nevertheless, the phosphorylation ratios of the 4E binding protein 1 and the eukaryotic initiation factor-4E were indistinguishable（P〉0.05） from those of the control group. The phosphorylation ratio of the mammalian target of rapamycin（m TOR）（Ser^2448） increased（P〈0.05） within 48 h, and apparent differences were abrogated at 72 h（P〉0.05）. Moreover, cleaved caspase-3 expression was increased at 72 h（P〈0.05）. These findings indicate that HS induces apoptosis and disrupts cell cycle distribution to decrease the number of cells. Additionally, HS can promote SC growth via an activated Akt/m TOR/S6 K signaling pathway.
