A Meta-Analysis of the Prognostic and Clinicopathological significance of circZFR in Human Gastrointestinal Cancers

Background: studies of gastrointestinal (GIT) cancers have shown that circZFR could be involved in the development and progression of various GIT cancers. However, small sample sizes limit the clinical significance of these studies. Here, a meta-analysis was conducted to ascertain the actual involvement of circZFR in the development and prognosis of GIT cancers. Methods: PubMed, Embase, Web of science, and the Cochrane Library were searched up to December 31, 2023. Hazard ratios (HRs) or odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were pooled to evaluate the association between circZFR expression and overall survival (Os). Publication bias was measured using the funnel plot and Egger’s test. Results: 10 studies having 659 participants were enrolled for meta-analysis. High circZFR expression was associated with poor Os (HR = 1.4, 95% CI: 1.20, 1.70). High circZFR expression also predicted larger tumor size (OR = 4.38, 95% CI 2.65, 7.25), advanced clinical stage (OR = 5.33, 95% CI 3.10, 9.16), and tendency for distant metastasis (OR = 2.89, 95% CI: 1.62, 5.11), but was not related to age, gender, and histological grade. Conclusions: In summary, high circZFR expression was associated with poor Os, larger tumor size, advanced stage cancer and tendency for distant metastasis. These findings suggested that circZFR could be a prognostic marker for GIT cancers.

In urban environments characterized by rich diversity across language, migration status, demographic profiles, and usage of different forms of media, there can be significant challenges to ensuring that particular disaster risk reduction(DRR) communications reach those potentially affected. This article presents a study with 20 Pacific Island community leaders and connectors about their communities' perspectives and anticipated responses to natural hazards in Auckland, New Zealand. Home to the largest population of Pacific people in the world, Auckland provides the basis for understanding the complexities of delivering disaster information across numerous community groups. The rich cultural and linguistic backgrounds of multiple Pacific communities living in this city highlight the need to consider the complexities of disaster messaging related to natural hazards. In particular, the article forwards the importance of incorporating the guiding concepts of reach, relevance, receptiveness, and relationships into a DRR approach with culturally and linguistically diverse groups. These concepts are presented as an embedded guiding framework that can helpfully inform disaster communication.

Vibrational spectroscopy is one of the key instrumentations that provide non-invasive investigation of structural and chemical composition for both organic and inorganic materials. However, diffraction of light funda- mentally limits the spatial resolution of far-field vibrational spectroscopy to roughly half the wavelength. In this article, we thoroughly review the integration of atomic force microscopy （AFM） with vibrational spectroscopy to enable the nanoscale characterization of emerging energy materials, which has not been possible with far-field optical techniques. The discussed methods utilize the AFM tip as a nanoscopic tool to extract spatially resolved electronic or molecular vibrational resonance spectra of a sample illuminated by a visible or infrared （IR） light source. The absorption of light by electrons or individual functional groups within molecules leads to changes in the sample＇s thermal response, optical scattering, and atomic force interactions, all of which can be readily probed by an AFM tip. For example, photothermal induced resonance （PTIR） spectroscopy methods measure a sample＇s local thermal expansion or temperature rise. Therefore, they use the AFM tip as a thermal detector to directly relate absorbed IR light to the thermal response of a sample. Optical scattering methods based on scanning near-field optical microscopy （sNOM） correlate the spectrum of scattered near-field light with molecular vibrational modes. More recently, photo-induced force microscopy （PiFM） has been developed to measure the change of the optical force gradient due to the light absorption by molecular vibrational resonances using AFM＇s superb sensitivity in detecting tip-sample force interactions. such recent efforts successfully breech the diffraction limit of light to provide nanoscale spatial resolution of vibrational spectroscopy,which will become a critical technique for characterizing novel energy materials.

This paper deals with the problem of the prediction and control of cholera outbreak using real data of *** first develop and analyze a deterministic model with seasonality for the cholera,the novelty of which lies in the incorporation of undetected *** present the basic properties of the model and compute two explicit threshold parametersR_(0)and R_(0).that bound the effective reproduction number,from below and above,that is R_(0)≤R_(0)≤R_(0).We prove that cholera tends to disappear whenR_(0)≤1,while when R_(0)>1,cholera persists uniformly within the ***,assuming that the cholera transmission rates and the proportions of newly symptomatic are unknown,we develop the EnKf approach to estimate unmeasurable state variables and these unknown parameters using real data of cholera from 2014 to 2022 in *** use this result to estimate the upper and lower bound of the effective reproduction number and reconstructed active asymptomatic and symptomatic cholera cases in Cameroon,and give a short-term forecasts of cholera in Cameroon until *** simulations show that(i)the transmission rate from free Vibrio cholerae in the environment is more important than the human transmission and begin to be high few week after May and in October,(ii)90%of newly cholera infected cases that present the symptoms of cholera are not diagnosed and(iii)60.36%of asymptomatic are detected at 14%and 86%of them recover *** future trends reveals that an outbreak appeared from July to November 2023 with the number of cases reported monthly peaked in October *** impulsive control strategy is incorporated in the model with the aim to avoid or prevent the cholera *** the first year of monitoring,we observed a reduction of more than 75%of incidences and the disappearance of the peaks when no control are available in Cameroon.A second monitoring of control led to a further reduction of around 60%of incidences the following year,showing how

Using spin-assisted ab initio random structure searches,we explore an exhaustive quantum phase diagram of archetypal interfaced Mott insulators,***-iron and lanthanum-titanium *** particular,we report that the charge transfer induced by the interfacial electronic reconstruction stabilises a high-spin ferrous Fe2+*** provide a pathway to control the strength of correlation in this electronic state by tuning the epitaxial strain,yielding a manifold of quantum electronic phases,***-Hubbard,charge transfer and slater insulating ***,we report that the electronic correlations are closely related to the structural oxygen octahedral rotations,whose control is able to stabilise the low-spin state of Fe2+at low pressure previously observed only under the extreme high pressure conditions in the Earth’s lower ***,we provide avenues for magnetic switching via THz radiations which have crucial implications for next generation of spintronics technologies.

Optimization of compression formulation and load of food-grade tracers for grain traceability using central composite design

Food-grade tracers have been developed as an identification technology for grain traceability from original harvest to final destination for *** characteristics of food-grade tracers must be able to satisfy the environmental demands for grain *** optimize the food-grade tracer production process,the effects of direct compression formulation and load on the mechanical characteristics were studied using response surface methodology(RsM)with central composite design(CCD).Among the four tested formulations,Formulations#2(consisting of 35.00%lactose 100 mesh,64.50%microcrystalline cellulose 102 and 0.50%magnesium stearate)and#4(consisting of 38.00%lactose 100 mesh,50.00%microcrystalline cellulose 102,11.00%pregelatinized starch and 1.00%magnesium stearate)were selected for tracer production based on their physical properties as *** value of Carr’s flowability index was 68 for both Formulations#2 and#4,which was the highest among all the ***,Formulations#2 and#4 also had the best powder *** magnesium stearate ratio(1.00%-3.00%)and pressure(6.00-16.00 kgf)were used as independent variables to detect changes in the breaking rate,peak shear force and friction coefficient of tracers compressed by the selected *** optimal production parameters could be achieved at a magnesium stearate ratio of 2.25%and pressure of 16.00 kgf for Formulation#2 and at a magnesium stearate ratio of 1.02%and pressure of 16.00 kgf for Formulation#*** these optimal conditions,the tracers had good impact characteristics(breaking rate),compression characteristics(peak shear force)and frictional characteristics(friction coefficient).Moreover,Formulation#2 was more suitable for production because compared to Formulation#4,its breaking rate and friction coefficient values were lower,and its peak shear force value was higher.
