The aim of this work is to illuminate how the architectural publication in Brazil is influenced by the location of its economic poles. Although the main specialized journals are nationwide read and the published projects are frequently used as design references by students at architecture schools all over Brazil, it appears to be a favor for those projects located at the southeast region. In order to investigate this initial assumption, we selected two of the most influential architectural journals, A U and Project Design magazines, focusing on visitable projects that are, therefore, capable of offering an experience for learning about architectural project. The analysis covered three years of publications in which four states in Brazil were distinguished： Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Federal District. The collected data show that the published visitable projects coincide with the economic poles around centered cities in Brazil, as well as the location of architecture schools and specialized media, becomes evident; not only because of the greater number of projects in the Sao Paulo area, but mainly because most of the published projects are located in the capitals of the analyzed poles.

Boozer addressed the role of magnetic helicity in dynamos [1]. He pointed out that the magnetic helicity conservation implies that the dynamo action is more easily attainable if the electric potential varies over the surface of the dynamo. This provided motivated us to investigate dynamos in Riemannian curved surfaces [2]. Thiffeault and Boozer [3] discussed the onset of dissipation in kinematic dynamos. In this paper, when curvature is constant and negative, a simple laminar dynamo solution is obtained on the flow topology of a Poincare disk, whose Gauss curvature is K = –1. By considering a laminar plasma dynamo [4] the electric current helicity λ ≈ 2.34 m–1 for a Reynolds magnetic number of Rm ≈ 210 and a growth rate of magnetic field |γ| ≈ 0.022 are obtained. Negative constant curvature non-compact H2 manifold, has also been used in onecomponent electron 2D plasma by Fantoni and Tellez [5]. Chicone et al. Molecular markers provide a useful method for genotype characterization and allow a high precision determination of the genetic relationship between cultivars and varieties. A system based on DNA sequences—which is known as DNA barcoding—will choose one or several standard loci which can be sequenced and compared to differentiate between species. In this research, the ITS, matK, and trnH-psbA sequences were evaluated for the molecular identification of seven F. carica genotypes, generating complete sequences for the first two loci, but unable to produce bidirectional sequences by using the trnH-psbA sequence. The ITS sequence presented the highest variation rates, while the phylogeny constructed with the matK sequence obtained the highest percentage of solved monophyletic groups. Through Pearson’s correlation analysis, it was possible to determine the existence of a significant correlation between the ITS region and psbA-trnH, and the matK and psbA-trnH sequences, but not between ITS and matK. The phylogenies constructed with the ITS + matK barcodes and ITS + matK + psbA-trnH presented the highest percentage for resolution. However, considering the cost efficiency and the facilitated recovery by using PCR, the matK + ITS combination is recommended.

Since Kostelecky et al [Phys Rev Lett 100, 111102 (2008)], have shown that there is an intimate connection between spacetime with torsion and the possibility of constraining it to Lorentz violation, a renewed interest in torsion theories of gravity has arised. In this paper, minimal coupling between photons on a torsioned background is shown to allow us to obtain the galactic magnetic field strength μG without dynamo amplification. This agrees with recent results by Jimenez and Maroto (2011) for spiral galaxies, with galactic magnetic field constraints from Dark matter without dy- namo amplification. The approach discussed here allow us to get rid of the unpleasant photon mass by simply consider- ing the Lagrangean cut off for second order torsion terms. Therefore though the gauge and Lorentz symmetries are bro- ken here one does not have to deal with photon masses.

Hyperlactatemia in patients with non-acetaminophen-related acute liver failure

AIM： To characterize hyperlactatemia in patients with non-acetaminophen acute liver failure （ALF） in an attempt to clarify the mechanisms implicated and the role as a prognosis factor. METHODS： In the setting of liver transplantation, 63 consecutive patients with non-acetaminophen acute liver failure were studied in relation to tissue oxygenation, hemodynamic and metabolic parameters. Before and after transplantation, the number of infected patients and outcome were registered. RESULTS： Acute ALF showed higher levels of lactate than subacute ALF （5.4 ± 1 mmol/L versus 2.2 ± 0.6 mmol/L, P= 0.01）. Oxygenation parameters were within the normal range. Lactate levels showed good correlation with respiratory quotient （r=0.759, P〈 0.005）, mean glucose administration （r= 0.664, P= 0.01） and encephalopathy （r= 0.698, P= 0.02）, but not with splanchnic arteriovenous difference in PCO2, pH and the presence of infection （P=0.1）. Portal vein lactate was higher （P〈0.05） than arterial and mixed venous lactate, suggesting its production of hyperlactatemia in the intestine and spleen. The presence of infection was an independent predictor of survival. CONCLUSION： Hyperlactatemia is not a prognosis factor due to byproduct of the overall acceleration in glycolysis.

China-Mexico Economic Relation:Competition and Opportunities

The rapid rise of the People’s Republic of China to the global superpower is also reflected in its relations with Mexico. Two decades ago, neither the mutual economic interests nor political connections were particularly significant. This has changed fundamentally. Decisive are the driving force behind economic relations. The attractiveness of Mexico is expected to continue to grow for China in the coming years, because the region produces strategic primary goods and can be used as a strategic place for Chinese products. However there are many differences and divergences in the relationship, so this means a challenge for both nations, in this research I will point out the problems and the current situation of the relation, as well as recommendations to strenghten the confidence. The research will identify challenges and opportunities for both countries. It aims at identification how these countries are competing to gain a part of the United States market, their comparative advantages, and at the same time it will show the cooperation between both countries. The research should be of interest for the industry, university, research institutes, policymakers in China and Mexico who are concerned with the opportunities and challenges of their relation. It is expected to serve as a good reference work for debates concerning public policy. It’s crucial to identify the strategies and choices of this two countries in the trade field and understand on which direction these economies are moving as a result of this new interaction.

Plant growth and development involve the specification and regeneration of stem cell niches(SCNs).Although plants are exposed to disparate environmental conditions,how environmental cues affect developmental programs and stem cells is not well *** stem cells are accommodated in meristems in SCNs around the quiescent center(QC),which maintains their *** a combination of genetics and confocal microscopy to trace morphological defects and correlate them with changes in gene expression and protein levels,we show that the cold-induced transcription factor(TF)C-REPEAT BINDING FACTOR 3(CBF3),which has previously been associated with cold acclimation,regulates root development,stem cell activity,and ***3 is integrated into the SHORT-ROOT(SHR)regulatory network,forming a feedback loop that maintains SHR ***3 is primarily expressed in the root endodermis,whereas the CBF3 protein is localized to other meristematic tissues,including root *** of cbf3-1 using a wild-type CBF3 gene and a CBF3 fusion with reduced mobility show that CBF3 movement capacity is required for SCN patterning and regulates root ***,cold induces CBF3,affecting QC ***,exposure to moderate cold around 10℃–12℃promotes root regeneration and QC respecification in a CBF3-dependent manner during the recuperation *** contrast,CBF3 does not appear to regulate stem cell survival,which has been associated with recuperation from more acute cold(-4℃).We propose a role for CBF3 in mediating the molecular interrelationships among the cold response,stem cell activity,and development.

Background Little information exists about the role of anemia in patients with acute coronary syndromes(ACS)admitted to Intensive Cardiac Care Units(ICCU).The aim of this study was to assess the prevalence of anemia and its impact on management and outcomes in this clinical *** All consecutive patients admitted to eight different ICCUs with diagnosis of non-ST segment elevation ACS(NSTEACS)were prospectively *** was defined as hemoglobin<130 g/L in men and<120 g/L in *** association between anemia and mortality or readmission at six months was assessed by the Cox regression *** A total of 629 patients were *** age was 66.6 years.A total of 197 patients(31.3%)had *** angiography was performed in most patients(96.2%).Patients with anemia were significantly older,with a higher prevalence of comorbidities,poorer left ventricle ejection fraction and higher GRACE score *** with anemia underwent less often coronary angiography,but underwent more often intraaortic counterpulsation,non-invasive mechanical ventilation and renal replacement *** ICCU and hospital stay were significantly longer in patients with *** the incidence of mortality(HR=3.36,95%CI:1.43–7.85,P=0.001)and the incidence of mortality/readmission were significantly higher in patients with anemia(HR=2.80,95%CI:2.03–3.86,P=0.001).After adjusting for confounders,the association between anemia and mortality/readmission remained significant(P=0.031).Conclusions Almost one of three NSTEACS patients admitted to ICCU had *** patients underwent coronary *** was independently associated to poorer outcomes at 6 months.

Disabled shoulders of throwing athletes typically present with extended undersurface partial tears of the rotator cuff, which include the posterior supraspinatus and the anterior infraspinatus tendon to a variable extent. We propose a modified transtendon repair technique to adequately treat this subset of patients. The repair includes two double-loaded anchors, at the anterior and the posterior end of the tear, respectively. With the help of an angulated penetrator we create a medial and a lateral band of sutures on top of the cuff, producing a broad contact in the tendon-to-bone interface. All the 9 so far operated patients were young men, 7 of them base-ball pitchers, and 5 active in competitive sports. The Constant Score rose from 72 points preoperatively to 99 points at 12 months follow-up. Three of the still active pitchers were able to return to their previous level in sports after one year. The improved footprint contact of our novel repair construct should allow for better healing and, therefore, a higher chance of return to competition.

In this work, we obtain good upper bounds for the diameter of any graph in terms of its minimum degree and its order, improving a classical theorem due to Erdos, Pach, Pollack and Tuza. We use these bounds in order to study hyperbolic graphs （in the Gromov sense）. To compute the hyperbolicity constant is an almost intractable problem, thus it is natural to try to bound it in terms of some parameters of the graph. Let H（n, δ0） be the set of graphs G with n vertices and minimum degree 50, and J（n, Δ） be the set of graphs G with n vertices and maximum degree A. We study the four following extremal problems on graphs： a（n,δ0） = min{δ（G）｜ G ∈H（n, δ0）}, b（n, δ0） =- max{δ（G）｜ e ∈H（n, δ0）}, α（n, Δ） = min{δ（G） [ G ∈ J（n, Δ）} and β（n,Δ） = max{δ（G） ] G∈Π（n,Δ）}. In particular, we obtain bounds for b（n, δ0） and we compute the precise value of a（n, δ0）, α（n, Δ） and w（n, Δ） for all values of n, r0 and A, respectively.
