Pain is estimated to affect more than 20%of the global population,imposing incalculable health and economic *** pain management is crucial for individuals suffering from ***,the current methods for pain assessment and treatment fall short of clinical *** from advances in neuroscience and biotechnology,the neuronal circuits and molecular mechanisms critically involved in pain modulation have been *** research achievements have incited progress in identifying new diagnostic and therapeutic *** this review,we first introduce fundamental knowledge about pain,setting the stage for the subsequent *** review next delves into the molecular mechanisms underlying pain disorders,including gene mutation,epigenetic modification,posttranslational modification,inflammasome,signaling pathways and *** better present a comprehensive view of pain research,two prominent issues,sexual dimorphism and pain comorbidities,are discussed in detail based on current *** status quo of pain evaluation and manipulation is summarized.A series of improved and innovative pain management strategies,such as gene therapy,monoclonal antibody,brain-computer interface and microbial intervention,are making strides towards clinical *** highlight existing limitations and future directions for enhancing the quality of preclinical and clinical *** to decipher the complexities of pain pathology will be instrumental in translating scientific discoveries into clinical practice,thereby improving pain management from bench to bedside.

A novel method for improving cerussite sulfidization

Evaluation of flotation behavior, solution measurements, and surface analyses were performed to investigate the effects of chloride ion addition on the sulfidization of cerussite in this study. Micro-flotation tests indicate that the addition of chloride ions prior to sulfidization can significantly increase the flotation recovery of cerussite, which is attributed to the formation of more lead sulfide species on the mineral surface. Solution measurement results suggest that the addition of chloride ions prior to sulfidization induces the transformation of more sulfide ions from pulp solution onto the mineral surface by the formation of more lead sulfide species. X-ray diffraction and energy-dispersive spectroscopy indicate that more lead sulfide species form on the mineral surface when chloride ions are added prior to sulfidization. These results demonstrate that the addition of chloride ions prior to sulfidization can significantly improve the sulfidization of cerussite, thereby enhancing the flotation performance.

The cooperative visible-light mediated and NHC-catalyzed dearomative arylation-acylation of N-(2-bromobenzoyl)indoles with aldehydes was developed, affording the corresponding highly functionalized polycyclic indolines in moderate to good yields with exclusive diastereoselectivities. Mechanism investigations support the activation of CAr-Br bond via visible-light mediated energy transfer(EnT) and the following single-electron-transfer(SET) with Breslow intermediate under NHC catalysis to give key aryl radical and ketyl radical. This protocol demonstrates the cleavage of CAr-Br bond under mild cooperative EnT/NHC catalysis.

A novel porcine acellular dermal matrix scaffold used in periodontal regeneration

Regeneration of periodontal tissue is the most promising method for restoring periodontal *** find a suitable bioactive three- dimensional scaffold promoting cell proliferation and differentiation is critical in periodontal tissue *** objective of this study was to evaluate the biocompatibility of a novel porcine acellular dermal matrix as periodontal tissue scaffolds both in vitro and in *** scaffolds in this study were purified porcine acellular dermal matrix(PADM) and hydroxyapatite-treated PADM(HA-PADM). The biodegradation patterns of the scaffolds were evaluated in *** biocompatibility of the scaffolds in vivo was assessed by implanting them into the sacrospinal muscle of 20 New Zealand white *** hPDL cells were cultured with PADM or HA-PADM scaffolds for 3,7,14,21 and 28 *** viability assay,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),hematoxylin and eosin(H&E) staining, immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy were used to evaluate the biocompatibility of the *** vitro,both PADM and HA-PADM scaffolds displayed appropriate biodegradation pattern,and also,demonstrated favorable tissue compatibility without tissue necrosis,fibrosis and other abnormal *** absorbance readings of the WST-1 assay were increased with the time course, suggesting the cell proliferation in the *** hPDL cells attaching,spreading and morphology on the surface of the scaffold were visualized by SEM,H&E staining,immnuohjstochemistry and confocal microscopy,demonstrated that hPDL cells were able to grow into the HA-PADM scaffolds and the amount of cells were growing up in the course of *** study proved that HA-PADM scaffold had good biocompatibility in animals in vivo and appropriate biodegrading characteristics in *** hPDL cells were able to proliferate and migrate into the *** observations may suggest that HA-PADM scaffold is a potential cell carrier for periodontal tissue regeneration.

Complexes of cupric ion and tartaric acid enhanced calcium peroxide Fenton-like reaction for metronidazole degradation

To surmount the obstacles of traditional Fenton method and synchronously utilize Cu^(2+)and polyphenol in water,an improved Fenton-like reaction applying calcium peroxide(cao_(2))as H_(2)O_(2)source and regulating by the complex of Cu^(2+)-tartaric acid(TA,a representative of polyphenol)was constructed.A typical antibiotic,metronidazole(MTZ)could be effectively eliminated by the Cu^(2+)/TA/cao_(2)system,and the optimized parameters were as follows:0.1 mmol/L Cu^(2+),2 mmol/L TA,2 mmol/L cao_(2),and initial *** spectrum confirmed the formation of Cu^(2+)-TA complex,which promoted the Cu^(2+)/Cu+circulation through decreasing the Cu^(2+)/Cu^(+) couple redox potential,which further enhanced the H_(2)O_(2)decomposition and the formation of reactive *** radical was dominant for MTZ degradation,followed by oxygen and superoxide *** degradation intermediates of MTZ were detected and their evolution way was ***,the ternary process showed a wide p H tolerance(3–8)for removing MTZ and broad applicability for eliminating other dyes and *** work provided a reference for Cu-based Fenton-like strategy for organic wastewater settlement.

Oral administration of asparagine and 3-indolepropionic acid prolongs survival time of rats with traumatic colon injury

Background: Traumatic colon injury(TCI) is a common disease during wartime. Prolongation of posttraumatic survival time is an effective approach to patient outcome improvement. However, there is a lack of basic research in this *** study aimed to elucidate the mechanisms underlying TCI progression and to develop novel regimens to buy time for TCI patients on the ***: A total of 669 Sprague–Dawley rats were used in this study. Surgical colon incision was performed to generate the TCI rat model. The landscape of colon microbiota compositions was depicted using 16S rRNA sequencing and metabolites in the intestinal contents were detected by metabolomics profiling. The signaling transduction in the intestinal epithelium was investigated using antibody microarrays and Western blotting. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) was conducted to measure the levels of interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α in intestines and plasma for the detection of inflammatory responses. Diamine oxidase, D-lactate and endotoxin in plasma and protein expression of zonula occludens 1 and occludin were selected as the indicators of intestinal barrier permeability. To investigate alterations of microbiota symbiosis, the relative abundances of specific bacterial genera were detected using quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR).Results: As a type of lethal injury, TCI induced acute disruption of intestinal homeostasis, characterized by inflammatory responses, intestinal barrier hyperpermeability and microbiota dysbiosis(Pbolic patterns were detected with decreases in many metabolites. Response of Vegetation Cover Change to Drought at Different Time-scales in the Beijing-Tianjin Sandstorm Source Region,China

Dominated by an arid and semiarid continental climate,the Beijing-Tianjin Sandstorm Source Region(BTSSR)is a typical ecologically fragile region with frequently occurring *** provide information for regional vegetation protection and drought prevention,we assessed the relations between vegetation cover change(measured by the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index,NDVI)and the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index(SPEI)at different time-scales,in different growth stages,in different subregions and for different vegetation types based on the Pearson's correlation coefficient in the BTSSR from 2000 to *** showed that 88.19%of the vegetated areas experienced increased NDVI in the growing season;48.3%of the vegetated areas experi-enced significantly increased NDVI(P<0.05)and were mainly in the south of the *** the growing season,a wetter climate contributed to the increased vegetation cover from 2000 to 2017,and NDVI anomalies were closely related to *** maximum correlation coefficient in the growing season(Rmax)was significantly positive(P<0.05)in 97.84%of the total vegetated *** the vegetated areas with significantly positive Rmax,pixels with short time-scales(1-3 mon)accounted for the largest proportion(33.9%).The sensitivity of vegetation to the impact of drought rose first and then decreased in the growing season,with a peak in *** with two subregions in the south,subregions in the north of the BTSSR were more sensitive to the impacts of drought variations,especially in the Xilingol Plateau and Wuzhumuqin *** four major vegetation types were sensitive to the effects of drought variations,especially *** time-scales of the most impacting droughts varied with growth stages,regions,and vegetation *** results can help us understand the relations between vegetation and droughts,which are important for ecological restoration and drought prevention.
