Gif.ed children are able to learn in a more advanced way than others, probably due to neurophysiological dif.erences in the communication ef.iciency in neural pathways. Topological f.atures contribute to understanding the correlation between the brain structure and intelligence. Despite decades of.neuroscience research using MRI, methods based on brain region connectivity patterns are limited by MRI artif.cts, which theref.re leads to revisiting MRI morphometric f.atures, with the aim of.using them to directly identif. gif.ed children instead of.using brain connectivity. However, the small, high-dimensional morphometric f.ature dataset with outliers makes the task of.f.nding good classif.cation models challenging. To this end, a hybrid method is proposed that combines tensor completion and f.ature selection methods to handle outliers and then select the discriminative f.atures. The proposed method can achieve a classif.cation accuracy of.93.1%, higher than other existing algorithms, which is thus suitable f.r the small MRI datasets with outliers in supervised classif.cation scenarios.

During the acquisition of.electroencephalographic(EEG) signals, data may be missing or corrupted by noise and artif.cts. To reconstruct the incomplete data, EEG signals are f.rstly converted into a three-order tensor(multi-dimensional data) of.shape time × channel × trial. Then, the missing data can be ef.iciently recovered by applying a tensor completion method(TCM).However, there is not a unique way to organize channels and trials in a tensor, and dif.erent numbers of.channels are available depending on the EEG setting used, which may af.ect the quality of.the tensor completion results. The main goal of.this paper is to evaluate the robustness of.EEG completion methods with several designed parameters such as the ordering of.channels and trials, the number of.channels, and the amount of.missing data. In this work, the results of.completing missing data by several TCMs were compared. To emulate dif.erent scenarios of.missing data, three dif.erent patterns of.missing data were ***, the amount of.missing data on completion ef.ects was analyzed, including the time lengths of.missing data and the number of.channels or trials af.ected by missing data. Secondly, the numerical stability of.the completion methods was analyzed by shuf.ling the indices along channels or trials in the EEG data tensor. f.nally, the way that the number of.electrodes of.EEG tensors inf.uences completion ef.ects was assessed by changing the number of.channels. Among all the applied TCMs, the simultaneous tensor decomposition and completion(STDC) method achieves the best perf.rmance in providing stable results when the amount of.missing data or the electrode number of.EEG tensors is changed. In other words, STDC proves to be an excellent choice of.TCM, since permutations of.trials or channels have almost no inf.uence on the complete results. In the last f.w years,f.ed additives have been used in animal nutrition to improve nutrient utilization,health parameters and animal ***,the use of.antibiotics as f.ed additives has allowed the occurrence of.antimicrobial resistance(AMR),which can bring as a consequence,an increase in the morbidity and mortality of.diseases that were previously treatable with *** this context,antimicrobial peptides(AMP)have appeared as a promising strategy because they have multiple bio-logical activities and represent a powerf.l strategy to prevent the development of.resistant *** the small number of.studies applied in vivo,AMP appear as a potent alternative to the use of.antibiotics in animal nutrition,due to an increase in f.ed ef.iciency and the prevention/treatment of.some animal *** review discusses the problems associated with antimicrobial resistance and the use of.AMP as a strong candidate to replace conventional antibiotics,mainly in the animal industry.

China's Global Shipping Connectivity:Internal and External Dynamics in the Contemporary Era(1890–2016)

China's global shipping connectivity had been somewhat overlooked as the bulk of.related studies predominantly f.cused on the throughput volume of.its own port cities. This article tackles such lacunae by providing a relational perspective based on the extraction of.vessel movement archives f.om the Lloyd's List corpus. Two complementary analyses are proposed: long-term dynamics with all ships included(1890–2008) and medium-term dynamics f.cusing on container f.ows(1978–2016). Each analysis examines China's maritime connectivity in various ways and on dif.erent spatial scales, f.om the global to the local, in terms of.concentration, vulnerability, and expansion. The main results underline the inf.uence of.technological, economic, and political f.ctors on the changing distribution of.connectivity internally and externally. In particular, China has managed to reduce its dependence upon external transit hubs, to increase the internal connectivity of.its own port system, and to strengthen its dominance towards an increasing number of.f.reign nodes and trade partners through the maritime network.

Compressing supercapacitor(SCs)electrode is essential f.r improving the energy storage characteristics and minimizing ions’distance travel,f.radaic reactions,and overall ohmic *** comprising the ion dynamics in SC electrodes under compression are still ***,the ionic dynamics of.f.ve aqueous electrolytes in electrodes under compression were studied in this work f.r tracking electrochemical and structural changes under mechanical stress.A superionic state is f.rmed when the electrode is compressed until the micropores match the dimensions with the electrolyte’s hydrated ion sizes,which increases the *** excessive compression is applied,the accessible pore regions decrease,and the capacitance ***,as the studied hydrated ions have dif.erent dimensions,the match between ion/pore sizes *** the LiOH and NaClO4electrolytes,increasing the pressure f.om 60 to 120 and 100 PSI raised the capacitance f.om 13.5 to 35.2 f.g^(-1)and 30.9 to 39.0 f.g^(-1),***,the KOH electrolyte with the lowest and LiCl with the biggest combination of.hydrated ion size have their point of.maximum capacitance(39.5 and 36.7f.g^(-1))achieved at 140 and 80 PSI,*** LiCl and KCl electrolytes,overcompression causes a drop in capacitance higher than 23%.

A Study on the Public Perception in Nuclear Area in Brazil

During the course of.the last years the need f.r the increase in the electric energy production in Brazil as well as in the rest of.the world, has raised the tone of.the debate about the environment impact of.such production. As a result of.these debates, both the several levels of.government and some of.the NGOs （Non-Governmental Organizations） have commissioned innumerous opinion researches aiming at measuring and evaluating the knowledge and perception of.the public in relation of.the best non-polluting energy sources. Prior to 2001 these researches would not make any sense in Brazil., however due to that year＇s drought, the competent authorities were f.ced with the necessity of.developing a plan, the PNE2030 （Piano Nacional de Energia） aiming, among others objectives, at f.nalizing the construction of.the Angra three plants and implementing new nuclear plants in places still to be determined. Allowing f.r the complexity of.the subject, this paper presents a f.eld research conducted f.om September 28th, 2010 to October 28th, 2010 assessing the current level of.perception of.the Brazilian population about the nuclear area, in particular of.the residents of.three cities of.Rio de Janeiro. As a result of.this work, the authors suggest how the competent authorities should proceed to reach in an ef.icient manner a greater understanding of.the population about the proposed subject, through communication campaigns being both inf.rmative and educational.

This paper presents the f.rst report of.the successf.l ball-milling exf.liation of.graphitic f.laments （GANf. carbon nanof.bres） into single layer graphene. The addition of.small amounts of.solvent during the milling process makes it possible to enhance the intercalation of.the exf.liating agent （melamine） between the graphene layers, thus promoting exceptional exf.liation. Advantage has also been taken of.the f.ct that the Hansen solubility parameters of.graphene are dif.erent f.om those of.carbon f.bres, which allows single and f.w-layer graphene to be suspended in a particular solvent, thus discriminating them f.om poorly exf.liated carbon nanof.bres.

BACKGROUND Peroneal tendon disorders are common causes of.lateral hindf.ot ***,total rupture of.the peroneal longus tendon is *** treatment f.r this condition is usually a side-to-side tenodesis of.the peroneal longus tendon to the peroneal brevis *** the traditional procedure involves a long lateral curved incision,this approach is associated with damage to the lateral sof. tissues(up to 24%incidence).CASE SUMMARY A 50-year-old f.male had developed pain at the lateral aspect of.the hindf.ot 1 mo af.er an ankle sprain while walking in the *** treatments were anti-inf.ammatory drugs,ice,rest and Cam-walker *** physical exam,there was pain and swelling over the course of.the peroneal *** instability and cavovarus f.ot def.rmity were ruled *** strength was weak(4/5).Imaging showed complete rupture of.the peroneal longus tendon associated with a sharp hypertrophic peroneal *** repair was indicated af.er f.ilure of.conservative treatment(physiotherapy,rest,analgesics,and ankle stabilizer).A less invasive approach was perf.rmed f.r peroneal longus tendon debridement and side-to-side tenodesis to the adjacent peroneal brevis tendon,with successf.l clinical and f.nctional *** Peroneus longus tendon tenodesis can be perf.rmed through a less invasive approach with preservation of.the lateral sof. tissue integrity.

台湾地区与中国大陆隔海相望,海上运输是两岸间货物往来的最主要方式。受国际政治和贸易模式的影响,从19世纪中后期以来,两岸港口运输联系变化剧烈。利用劳合社(Lloyd's)1895-2016年两岸港口间航线的O-D数据,从国家层面和全球层面研究海峡两岸港口运输联系的变化。主要结论为:(1)近代开埠至割让给日本之前,台湾地区与大陆的海运联系紧密,厦门港是台湾地区最重要的中转港;日据之后,台湾地区成为日本的原料来源地和商品销售地,台湾地区—日本—中国大陆形成三角运输联系;两岸对峙后,两岸港口运输联系切断,台湾地区—美国—日本形成三角贸易网络;1979年后,香港港成为两岸运输联系的最重要中转港,两岸直航后,台湾地区与大陆间的港口运输联系在广度和深度上不断拓展。(2)台湾地区区位优势明显,但由于是海岛,陆向腹地狭小,因此充分利用区位优势和地缘优势,把区域经济增长中心作为自身的海向腹地,以形成紧密的海上运输联系是台湾地区经济持续发展的关键。改善与中国大陆之间的关系、分享中国大陆发展的机遇、推动海峡两岸的港口运输联系是台湾地区的"天时"与"人和"。
