This work aims to obtain a wide area differential method for geostationary orbit (GEO) constellation. A comparison between the dilution of precision (DOP) of four-dimensional (4D) calculation including sa- tellite clock errors and ephemeris errors and that of three-dimensional (3D) calculation only including ephemeris errors with the inverse positioning theory of GPS shows the conclusion that all the 3D PDOPs are greatly reduced. Based on this, a basic idea of correcting satellite clock errors and ephem- eris errors apart is put forward, and moreover, a specific method of separation is proposed. Satellite clock errors are separated in a master station with time synchronization, and all the remaining pseu- do-range errors after the satellite clock errors have been deducted are used to work out ephemeris corrections of all GEO satellites. By a comparative analysis of user positioning accuracy before and after differential, the wide area differential method is verified to be quite valid for GEO constellation.

In order to solve the problems that the novel wide area differential method on the satellite clock and ephemeris relative correction (CERC) in the non-geostationary orbit satellite constellation, a virtual reference satellite (VRS) differential principle using relative correction of satellite ephemeris errors is proposed. It is referred to be as the VRS differential principle, and the elaboration is focused on the construction of pseudo-range errors of VRS. Through qualitative analysis, it can be found that the impact of the satellite’s clock and ephemeris errors on positioning can basically be removed and the users’ positioning errors are near zero. Through simulation analysis of the differential performance, it is verified that the differential method is universal in all kinds of satellite navigation systems with geostationary orbit (GEO) constellation, Medium orbit (MEO) constellation or hybrid orbit constellation, and it has insensitivity to abnormal aspects of a satellite ephemeris and clock. Moreover, the real time positioning accuracy of differential users can be maintained within several decimeters after the pseudo-range measurement noise is effectively weakened or eliminated.

Real time principle of wide area differential GPS(WADGPS)uses a generally inverted positioning method of four-dimensional solution of satellite clock and ephemeris *** with the real time single point positioning,positioning accuracy of this method is improved greatly,but the DOP of four-dimensional calculation is up to several hundred,under the error amplification effect of DOP,1 m positioning precision level of WADGPS is difficult to *** overcome the limit of DOP,the feasibility on large and small part decomposition of satellite clock and ephemeris error is analyzed, and optimal differential performances of the exploring two smallness correction methods:Small DOP and no DOP constraint,are analyzed,and they will be the foundation for further exploration.

Based on the deep analysis of the wide area differential principle on the separation of satellite ephemeris errors and clock errors, the similarities and differences between the absolute separation of satellite ephemeris errors under time synchronization among the differential stations and relative separation of them under no time synchronization among them are analyzed. A one-station correction method of satellite clock errors including the 1st and the 2nd step correction is given under no time synchronization among these secondary stations, and the backward inference algorithm of the second correction of satellite clock errors is proposed. Through simulation analysis, satellite time service accuracy with code phase measurement can reach 5―7 ns, and that with carrier phase smoothing pseudo-range can reach 1―3 ns.

Aircraft taxiing on the ground can reach or leave from parking bay with the help of"FOLLOW ME"airport guide car,a process that requires a lot of manpower,material and financial *** the extensive use of Satellite-based navigation system and the rapid development of modern communication technology and automatic control technology,this paper presents and studies aircraft automatic guidance technology to replace the airport guide car during airplane *** basic idea is that,based on the landing PVT information provided by GNSS navigation equipment onboard the aircraft,control tower planes aircraft taxiing routes after landing automatically according to airport GIS data and the actual airport flight schedule,and sends to the aircraft crew through wireless communication *** crew will match the real-time aircraft GNSS positioning information to the taxiing route provided by control tower using finite element theory coordinates matching *** matching results will be shown on the cockpit Multi-Function Display（MFD）or on the Head-up Display of windshield glass with the flashing arrows to guide the pilot taxiing under the established ***-guiding technology occupies a certain advantage in the implementation complexity,cost,size and energy consumption compared to aircraft taxiing with the help of airport guide car,and auto-guiding technology can also be used for the machine automatic guidance in the other places.

Compatibility and interoperability of GNSS （Global Navigation Satellite System） are becoming the main trend of future navigation. However, each navigation system has a time scale. When users positioning with not only one system, the time offset between them must be considered. There are several ways to acquire system time offsets. By adding unknown variables in the combined position equation to solve this variable is the commonly used way. For positioning with multi-constellations, system time offsets are some kind of burden which must be taken into account. This paper takes full use of the obtained offsets and proposes a new fault detection method for RAIM （Receiver Autonomous Integrity Monitoring）. Simulations are made to estimate the ability of this new method. This new method takes the high stability of system time offsets of GPS/Beidou system and applies it to assistant fault detection. This method has no additional requirements for navigation system and is fit for applied in receivers. It can be expected this method will be one means of RAIM for Beidou navigation system when integrated with other GNSS in future.

This work describes the barometric altimetry as virtual constellation applied to the chinese Area Positioning System (CAPS), which uses the transponders of communication satellites to transfer navigation messages to users. Barometric altimetry depends on the relationship of air pressure varying with altitude in the Earth’s atmosphere. Once the air pressure at a location is measured the site altitude can be found. This method is able to enhance and improve the availability of three-dimensional positioning. The difficulty is that the relation between barometric pressure and altitude is variable in different areas and under various weather conditions. Hence, in order to obtain higher accuracy, we need to acquire the real-time air pressure corresponding to an altimetric region’s reference height. On the other hand, the altimetry method will be applied to satellite navigation system, but the greatest difficulty lies in how to get the real-time air pressure value at the reference height in the broad areas overlaid by satellite navigation. We propose an innovational method to solve this problem. It is to collect the real-time air pressures and temperatures of the 1860 known-altitude weather observatories over china and around via satellite communication and to carry out time extrapolation forecast uniformly. To reduce data quantity, we first partition the data and encode them and then broadcast these information via navigation message to CAPS users’ receivers. Upon the interpolations being done in receivers, the reference air pressure and temperature at the receiver’s nearby place is derived. Lastly, combing with the receiver-observed real air pressure and temperature, the site’s altitude can be determined. The work is presented in the following aspects: the calculation principle, formulae, data collection, encoding, prediction, interpolation method, navigation message transmission together with errors causes and analyses. A kind of emitter TDOA（time difference of arrival, TDOA）and FDOA（frequency difference of arrival, FDOA） differential correction method based on GNSS signal was presented against the problem that the GNSS signal and the emitter source have same bias of TDOA and FDOA such as transponder delay and relative clock error. The TDOA correction and FDOA correction can be calculated in low orbit satellites through the information of GNSS direct signal and transponder signal and location information and velocity information of the navigation signal and low orbit satellites. Using the differential correction of TDOA and FDOA, the fixed bias of TDOA and FDOA can be best eliminated and then improved the position accuracy remarkably. This kind of method not only greatly reduced the dependence of the low orbit dual-satellites platform on the ground monitoring stations, but also increased the reliability, stability and precision. The simulation results show that this kind of method can easily achieve positioning accuracy better than 1 km in the entire coverage area.

A Positioning System based on Communication Satellites and the chinese Area Positioning System(CAPS)

The chinese Area Positioning System （CAPS） is a positioning system based on satellite communication that is fundamentally different from the 3＂G＂（GPS, GLONASS and GAliLEO） systems. The latter use special-purpose navigation satellites to broadcast navigation information generated on-board to users, while the CAPS transfers ground-generated navigation information to users via the communication satellite. In order to achieve accurate Positioning, Velocity and time （PVT）, the CAPS employs the following strategies to over- come the three main obstacles caused by using the communication satellite：（a） by real-time following-up frequency stabilization to achieve stable frequency; （b） by using a single carrier in the transponder with 36 MHz band-width to gain sufficient power; （c） by incorporating Decommissioned Geostationary Orbit communication satellite （DGEO）, barometric pressure and Inclined Geostationary Orbit communication satellite （IGSO） to achieve the 3-D posi- tioning. Furthermore, the abundant transponders available on DGEO can be used to realize the large capacity of communication as well as the integrated navigation and communication. With the communication functions incorporated, five new functions appear in the CAPS：（1） combination of navigation and communication; （2） combination of navigation and high accu- racy orbit measurement; （3） combination of navigation message and wide/local area differen- tial processing; （4） combination of the switching of satellites, frequencies and codes; and （5） combination of the navigation message and the barometric altimetry. The CAPS is thereby labelled a PVT5C system of high accuracy. In order to validate the working principle and the performance of the CAPS, a trial system was established in the course of two years at a cost of about 20 million dollars.
