A comparison of the distributions of carbazoles and dibenzothiophenes in western Qaidam Basin, Northwest China

Variations in the distributions of carbazoles and dibenzothiophenes were investigated in a set of source rocks, which differ mainly in their maturity levels during immature-mature stages. A comparison of the distributions of carbazoles and dibenzothiophenes has revealed the main results as follows: variations in the relative amounts ①of C0-, C1-, C2-dibenzothiophenes show a low correlation with that of the corresponding carbazoles, with the former's being much higher than the latter's; variations in the relative amounts of methyldibe② nzothiophene isomers also display a low correlation with that of the corresponding methylcarbazoles, with 4-/4- +1-methyldibenzothiophene ratio ranging from 0.52 to 0.96, while the corresponding carbazole ratio of 1-/1- +4-methylcarbazole only being 0.71±0.05; the mat③ urity parameter for 4,6-/4,6- +1,4-dimethyldibenzothiohene, ranging from 0.34 to 0.75, shows a remarkable linear correlation with the corresponding ratio of 1,8-/1,8- +1,4-dimethylcarbazole(R2>0.84). The un-correlation may indicate some different geological-geochemical fates for some isomers of dibenzothiophenes and carbazoles. The high correlation may reveal a strong maturation dependence on the dimethylcarbazole distributions, indicating that attention should be paid when 1,8-/1,8- +1,4-dimethylcarbazole is used as a petroleum migration indicator.

Biofilms are a constant concern in the food industry;understanding the effect of environmental conditions on biofilm formation is essential to develop effective control ***,this study was conducted to investigate biofilms formation by Staphylococcus epidermidis under various *** were cultured in nutrient broth containing different carbon source concentrations(0–10 mg/mL)on polystyrene surfaces for 32 h of incubation at 37℃or 55℃,with quantification and enumeration at 8,16,24 and 32 *** developed biofilms under all tested conditions;achieved the highest yield of biofilm biomass at 2.5 mg/mL for all carbon sources at 37℃.The highest efficiency of extracellular polymeric substance(EPS)molecule production occurred under glucose availability in the growth environment,with a higher yield of biomass and a significantly smaller number of metabolically active cells than under other tested conditions.A condensed ball-shaped structure was observed under the lactose ***,biofilms in the presence of maltose showed mainly opaque thick rich colonies,while a compact multilayered-shaped structure was exhibited under both glucose and sucrose *** results contribute to a better understanding of the biofilm formation by *** in order to reduce contamination and recontamination in the food industry.

In this study,single crystal ZnO microwires(MW)with size of~5.4 mm×30μm are prepared through a chemical vapor deposition technique at high temperature(1200℃).Subsequently,p-type conducting polyaniline(PANI)polymers with different conductivities are densely coated on part of the ZnO MW to construct organic/inorganic core-shell heterojunction *** hetero-diodes reach an extremely high rectifcation ratio(I_(+3V)/I_(-3V))of 749230,and a maximum rejection ratio(I_(350nm)/I_(dark))of 3556(at-3 V),indicating great potential as rectifed *** the heterojunction devices exhibit strong response to ultraviolet(UV)radiation with high response ***,the obvious photovoltaic behavior can also be obtained,allowing the device to operate as an independent and stable unit without externally supplied *** 0 V bias voltage,the self-powered photodetector shows a maximum responsivity of 0.56 mA W~(-1)and a rapid response speed of 0.11 ms/1.45 ms(rise time/decay time).Finally,a fnite difference time domain(FDTD)simulation is performed to further demonstrate the interaction mechanism between the incident light feld and the hexagonal cavity,which strongly supports the enhancement of the light absorption in whispering-gallery-mode resonator.

Device-to-device(D2D) communications allow direct connections among devices to lower transmission latency and network loads of the existing cellular mobile networks. To fully exploit the benefits of D2D communications, relay access is one of the critical challenges upon employing the optimal cooperative relay user equipments(UEs) for data forwarding. The existed relay access approaches usually neglect the inherent motivation that whether the relay is reluctant to forward the information of other UEs based on its status, such as limited battery, service cost and social ties. In this paper, we jointly investigate both the transmission delay and the reliability performance for designing a relay access scheme combined with the impacts of the physical layer and the social layer. Meanwhile, considering the user mobility and status, a dynamic relay access model is constructed with the utility function of the weighted average of latency and social trust level under the long-term constraints. To solve this problem, Lyapunov framework is proposed for converting it into a renewal-reward system towards infinite time horizon, and numerical results show the benefits of the proposed scheme compared with other schemes under dynamic scenarios, as it can lower the latency while guaranteeing the reliability of relay access.

Evaluation of the four potential Cretaceous-Paleogene (K-Pg) boundaries in the Nanxiong Basin based on evidences from volcanic activity and paleoclimatic evolution

Determining the location of the Cretaceous-Paleogene(K-Pg) boundary in terrestrial strata is highly significant for studying the evolution of terrestrial ecosystems at the end of the Cretaceous(especially the extinction of non-avian dinosaurs). At present, research on terrestrial K-Pg boundaries worldwide is concentrated in the middle and high latitudes, such as North America and Northeast China. Although many studies have also been carried out in the Nanxiong Basin, located at low latitudes(which has become the standard for dividing and comparing the continental K-Pg stratigraphy in China), many researchers have proposed four possible boundaries from different perspectives. Therefore, the exact location remains to be determined. In this study, the total mercury(Hg) content, environmental magnetism, geochemistry, and other parameters for the samples collected near the four boundaries were determined and compared with existing records. Results indicated that: 1) The total Hg content significantly increased in the upper part of the Zhenshui Formation and Pingling part of the Shanghu Formation with sharp fluctuations. As per latest dating results of Deccan Traps, the significantly high Hg value was attributed to the Deccan Traps eruption. Boundary 1 was located in the middle of the Hg anomaly interval, which was consistent with the relationship between the global K-Pg boundary and time of volcanic eruption. 2) The reconstructed paleoclimate evolution curve revealed that the red sediments in the basin recorded the late Maastrichtian warming event(66.2 Ma). Regarding the relationship between the four boundaries and this warming event, only boundary 1 was found to be closest to the real K-Pg boundary of the Nanxiong Basin.

Early-stage brain metastasis of breast cancer(BMBC), due to the existence of an intact blood–brain barrier(BBB), is one of the deadliest neurologic complications. To improve the efficacy of chemotherapy for BMBC, a Trojan horse strategy-based nanocarrier has been developed by integrating the cell membrane of a brain-homing cancer cell and a polymeric drug depot. With the camouflage of a MDA-MB-231/Br cell membrane, doxorubicin-loaded poly(D, L-lactic-co-glycolic acid) nanoparticle(DOX-PLGA@CM) shows enhanced cellular uptake and boosted killing potency for MDA-MB-231/Br cells. Furthermore, DOX-PLGA@CM is equipped with naturally selected molecules for BBB penetration, as evidenced by its boosted capacity in entering the brain of both healthy and early-stage BMBC mouse models. Consequently, DOX-PLGA@CM effectively reaches the metastatic tumor lesions in the brain, slows down cancer progression, reduces tumor burden, and extends the survival time for the BMBC ***, the simplicity and easy scale-up of the design opens a new window for the treatment of BMBC and other brain metastatic cancers.

Certificateless public key cryptography （CL- PKC） can solve the problems of certificate management in a public key infrastructure （PKI） and of key escrows in identity-based public key cryptography （ID-PKC）. In CL- PKC, the key generation center （KGC） does not know the private keys of all users, and their public keys need not be cer- tificated by certification authority （ca）. At present, however, most certificateless encryption schemes are based on large in- teger factorization and discrete logarithms that are not secure in a quantum environment and the computation complexity is high. To solve these problems, we propose a new certificate- less encryption scheme based on lattices, more precisely, us- ing the hardness of the learning with errors （LWE） problem. Compared with schemes based on large integer factoriza- tion and discrete logarithms, the most operations are matrix- vector multiplication and inner products in our scheme, our approach has lower computation complexity. Our scheme can be proven to be indistinguishability chosen ciphertext attacks （IND-CPA） secure in the random oracle model.

The continuous tuning of plasmonic nanoassembly's structure is the key to manipulate their optical and catalytic ***,we report a strategy of using macroscopic deformation to continuously tune the structure and optical activity of massive plasmonic nanoassemblies that are embedded in elastic polymer *** gold nanoparticles(Au NPs)are assembled to nanochains(Au NCs)with defined length and further embedded into polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)*** nanostructure and plasmonic properties of massive Au NCs in this Au NCs-PVP film can be simultaneously and continuously tuned,simply by reversible mechanical deformation of this elastic *** this way,the surface-enhanced Raman scattering(SERS)enhancement factor of this film as a SERS substrate can be mechanically modulated in the range of 10^(0)to 6.8×10^(7).Meanwhile,the PVP matrix also serves as a selective diffusion barrier to eliminate the fluorescence interference of large biomolecules,which enables the Au NCs-PVP film as a convenient SER S substrate for quick and direct analysis of small molecule analytes in biological samples and food,avoiding the complicate and time-consuming sample pretreatment process.

Synergistic strengthening mechanism of ca^(2+)-sodium silicate to selective separation of feldspar and quartz

Inhibitors are important for flotation separation of quartz and *** this study,a novel combined inhibitor was used to separate quartz and feldspar in near-neutral *** inhibition of the combined inhibitor was assessed by micro-flotation *** a series of detection methods were used to detect differences in the surface properties of feldspars and quartz after flotation reagents and put forward the synergistic strengthening *** outcomes were pointed out that pre-mixing combined inhibitors were more effective than the addition of ca^(2+)and SS in sequence under the optimal proportion of 1:5.A concentrate from artificial mixed minerals that was characterized by a high quartz grade and a high recovery was acquired,and was found to be 90.70wt% and 83.70%,*** was demonstrated that the combined inhibitor selectively prevented the action of the collector and feldspar from Fourier-transform infrared(FT-IR)and adsorption capacity *** results of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)indicated that ca^(2+)directly interacts with the surface of quartz to increase the adsorption of *** contrast,the chemistry property of Al on the feldspar surface was altered by combined inhibitor due to Na^(+)and ca^(2+)taking the place of K^(+),resulting in the composite inhibitor forms a hydrophilic structure,which prevents the adsorption of the collector on the surface of feldspar by interacting with the Al active *** combination of ca^(2+)and SS synergically strengthens the difference of collecting property between quartz and feldspar by collector,thus achieving the effect of efficient separation.A new strategy for flotation to separate quartz from feldspar in near-neutral pulp was provided.
