Shorebird populations are declining worldwide,mainly due to human disturbances and loss of coastal ***,supratidal habitats as saltpans could play a role in buffering human *** have shown to be important as feeding or breeding sites of some shorebird species.A potential conservation strategy to increase shorebird populations in saltpans is to manipulate the cues that birds use to select optimal breeding *** it is hypothesized that shorebirds are attracted to bivalve shells due to the advantages they *** this hypothesis,we supplemented a restored saltpan in 2019 and 2021 with bivalve shells,expecting an increase in the number of breeding birds’ *** than 75% of kentish plover(charadrius alexandrinus) and Little Tern(Sternula albifrons) nests were found in patches with shells in both *** best model for both species indicates that the presence of shells is the factor that most correlates with the location of *** probability of choosing one place over another to settle their nest increases in areas with an abundance of shells,double in the case of the kentish plover and triple in the case of the Little *** result of this study may constitute a valuable tool for attracting birds to restored saltpans and could contribute to the success of expensive restoration projects where time is usually a constraint.

Meso-Neoarchean fuchsite quartzites are present in different stratigraphic.p.sitions of Dharwar craton including the oldest(~3.3 Ga)Sargur Group of western Dharwar *** present study deals with the petro-graphic and geochemical characteristics of the fuchsite quartzites from the Ghattihosahalli belt to evaluate their genesis,depositional setting and the enigma involved in the ancient sedimentation *** major mineral assemblages include quartz,fuchsite,and feldspars along with accessory kyanite and *** geochemical com-positions are characterized by high SiO_(2),Al_(2)O_(3),low MgO,caO,strongly enriched cr(1326–6899 ppm),Ba(1165–3653 ppm),Sr(46–210 ppm),V(107–868 ppm)and Zn(11–158 ppm)contents compared to the upper continental crust(Ucc).The Ucc normalized rare earth element(REE)patterns are characterized by depleted light REE[(la/Sm)Ucc=0.33–0.95]compared to heavy REE[(Gd/Yb)_(Ucc)=0.42–1.65]with conspicuous positive Eu-anomalies(Eu/Eu^(*)=1.35–18.27)characteristic of hydrothermal solutions evidenced through the interlayered *** overall major and trace element systematics reflect a combined mafic-felsic.p.ovenance and suggest their deposition at a passive continental margin *** comprehensivefield,petrographic,and geo-chemical studies indicate that these quartzites are infiltrated by cr-richfluids released during high-grade metamorphism of associated ultramafic *** Sargur and the subse-quent Dharwar orogeny amalgamated diverse lithounits from different tectonic settings,possibly leading to the release of cr-richfluids and the formation of fuchsite quartzite during or after the *** sug-gest a pre-existing stable crust prior to the Sargur Group and the link between orogenic events and various mineral deposits in the Dharwar craton.

Two-dimension(2D)van der Waals heterojunction holds essential promise in achieving high-performance flexible near-infrared(NIR)***,we report the successful fabrication of ZnSb/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)MXene based flexible NIR photodetector array via a facile photolithography *** single ZnSb/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)photodetector exhibited a high light-to-dark current ratio of 4.98,fast response/recovery time(2.5/1.3 s)and excellent stability due to the tight connection between 2D ZnSb nanoplates and 2D Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)MXene nanoflakes,and the formed 2D van der Waals *** polyethylene terephthalate(pET)substrate enables the ZnSb/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)photodetector withstand bending such that stable photoelectrical properties with non-obvious change were maintained over 5000 bending ***,the ZnSb/Ti_(3)c_(2)T_(x)photodetectors were integrated into a 26×5 device array,realizing a NIR image sensing application.

Thermally chargeable superc.p.citors can collect low-grade heat generated by the human body and convert it into electricity as a power supply unit for wearable electronics. However, the low Seebeck coefficient and heat-to-electricity conversion efficiency hinder further application. In this paper, we designed a high-performance thermally chargeable superc.p.citor device composed of ZnMn2O4@Ti3c2Tx MXene composites (ZMO@Ti3c2Tx MXene) electrode and UIO-66 metal-organic framework doped multichannel polyvinylidene fluoridehexafluoro-propylene ionogel electrolyte, which realized the thermoelectric conversion and electrical energy storage at the same time. This thermally chargeable superc.p.citor device exhibited a high Seebeck coefficient of 55.4 mV k-1, thermal voltage of 243 mV, and outstanding heat-to-electricity conversion efficiency of up to 6.48% at the temperature difference of 4.4 k. In addition, this device showed excellent charge-discharge cycling stability at high-temperature differences (3 k) and low-temperature differences (1 k), respectively. connecting two thermally chargeable superc.p.citor units in series, the generated output voltage of 500 mV further confirmed the stability of devices. When a single device was worn on the arm, a thermal voltage of 208.3 mV was obtained indicating the possibility of application in wearable electronics.

Biodegradable nanoparticles such as chitosan nanoparticles (cSNps) are used in sustainable agriculture since theyavoid damage to the environment;cSNps have positive effects such as the accumulation of bioactive compoundsand increased productivity in plants. This study aimed to investigate the impact of applying cSNps on lettuce,specifically focusing on enzymatic activity, bioactive compounds, and yield. The trial was conducted using a completelyrandomized design, incorporating cSNps: 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 mg mL−1. The doses of 0.4 mg mL−1improve yields up to 24.6% increases and 0.1 mg mL−1 of cSNps increases total phenols by 31.2% and antioxidantc.p.city by 34.6%. In addition, when low concentrations of cSNps (0.05 and 0.1 mg L−1) were applied, anincrease in catalase was determined. The cSNps represent a good alternative to be used as a biostimulant in sustainableagriculture because they improve the yield and quality of lettuce by increasing the bioactive compounds.

Warming and prec.p.tation are key global change factors driving soil carbon (c) dynamics in terrestrial ecosystems. However, the effects of warming and altered prec.p.tation on soil microbial diversity and functional genes involved in soil c cycling remain largely unknown. We investigated the effects of warming and increased prec.p.tation on soil c cycling in a temperate desert steppe of Inner Mongolia using metagenomic sequencing. We found that warming reduced plant richness, Shannon-Wiener and Simpson index. In contrast, increased prec.p.tation significantly influenced Shannon-Wiener and Simpson index. Warming reduced soil microbial species by 5.4% while increased prec.p.tation and warming combined with increased prec.p.tation led to increases in soil microbial species by 23.3% and 2.7%, respectively. The relative abundance of proteobacteria, which involve c cycling genes, was significantly increased by warming and increased prec.p.tation. Warming significantly reduced the abundance of GApDH (calvin cycle) and celF (cellulose degradation) while it enhanced the abundance of glxR (lignin degradation). Increased prec.p.tation significantly enhanced the abundance of pgk (calvin cycle), coxL (carbon monoxide oxidation), malZ (starch degradation), and mttB (methane production). Moreover, a wide range of correlations among soil properties and c cycling functional genes was detected, suggesting the synergistic and/or antagonistic relationships under scenario of global change. These results may suggest that warming is beneficial to soil c storage while increased prec.p.tation negatively affects soil c sequestration. These findings provide a new perspective for understanding the response of microbial communities to warming and increased prec.p.tation in the temperate desert steppe.
