BAcKGROUnD Alopecia areata(AA)is an inflammatory disease with autoimmune,environmental,and inherited components directed at the hair follicle,either limited to patchy hair loss over the scalp(Focalis,AF),total loss of scalp hair(Totalis,AT),or total loss of both scalp and body hair(Universalis,AU).Despite multiple treatment modalities,no therapy *** D deficiency in patients with AA/AT/AF influences disease severity and duration,inversely correlating with inflammation *** SUMMARY Three girls presented with AT(P1),AU(P2),and AF(P3)at the ages of 1,5,and 5 years,*** P1-P2,all available treatments implemented for 2 years had *** started an initial 6-mo repletion with oral cholecalciferol 2000/4000 IU/d,with no apparent *** we attempted immunomodulation using oral calcitriol and its analog *** calcitriol,0.5 mcg/d P1 regrew hair within 6 *** 4 years,a relapse with loss of eyebrow hair was resolved after doubling the calcitriol dose to 0.5 mcg×2/d;the results have been maintained for 6 years to *** calcitriol,0.25 mcg×3/d P2 led to the development of asymptomatic hypercalcemia-hypercalciuria,which was immediately resolved by switching to paricalcitol 2 mcg×3/d;mild tolerable hypercalciuria was *** regrowth was observed at 6 mo,stabilizing only as fur at 12 *** in P3 was resolved completely within 3 mo on a daily high dose(8000 IU)of *** Vitamin D may have immunomodulating therapeutic impact on AT/AU/AF,which needs to be explored with further pilot clinical trials.

Mechanically durable transparent electrodes are essential for achieving long-term stability in flexible optoelectronic ***,they are crucial for applications in the fields of energy,display,healthcare,and soft *** meshes represent a promising alternative to traditional,brittle,metal oxide conductors due to their high electrical conductivity,optical transparency,and enhanced mechanical *** this paper,we present a simple method for fabricating an ultra-transparent conducting metal oxide mesh electrode using selfcracking-assisted *** this method,we produced an electrode with ultra-transparency(97.39%),high conductance(Rs=21.24Ωsq^(−1)),elevated work function(5.16 eV),and good mechanical *** also evaluated the effectiveness of the fabricated electrodes by integrating them into organic photovoltaics,organic light-emitting diodes,and flexible transparent memristor devices for neuromorphic computing,resulting in exceptional device *** addition,the unique porous structure of the vanadium-doped indium zinc oxide mesh electrodes provided excellent flexibility,rendering them a promising option for application in flexible optoelectronics.

Ionic liquid-assisted hydrothermal synthesis of SnS nanoparticles:Electrode materials for lithium batteries,photoluminescence and photocatalytic activities

Tin mono-sulphide（Sn S） nanoparticles（nps） have been successfully synthesised through ionic liquid assisted hydrothermal method using hydrated tin（II） chloride as a precursor, thiourea as sulphur source precursors using 2-Methoxy ethyl methyl imidazolium methane sulfonate ionic liquid as co-solvent. The Reitveld refinement on powder X-ray diffraction（PXRD） confirmed the presence of orthorhombic Sn S structure as major phase along with traces amount of Sn S2 and Sn2 S3. Diffuse reflectance spectrum studies revealed the energy band gap around 1.38 e V. TEM images confirmed the Sn S nps with average particle size of 40 nm and HRTEM suggest good crystallinity. The electrochemical property for lithium storage behaviour shows an initial discharge capacity of 658 m Ah/g and it retains discharge capacity of 426 m Ah/g for 16 cycles, at current density 100 m A/g. The obtained results indicate that Sn S nps to be one of the possible promising anode materials for next generation Lithium batteries. Photoluminescence study of Sn S nps shows a strong green emission at 530 nm. Sn S nps were also tested for the photocatalytic adsorption of methylene blue and Rhodamine B.

Three dimensional free convection couette flow with transpiration cooling

Free convection flow between two vertical parallel plates with transverse sinusoidal injection of the fluid at the stationary plate and its corresponding removal by constant suction through the plate in uniform motion has been analyzed. Due to this type of injection velocity, the flow becomes three-dimensional. Analytical expressions for the velocity, temperature, skin friction and rate of heat transfer were obtained. The important characteristics of the problem, namely the skin friction and the rate of heat transfer are discussed in detail with the help of graphs.

The influence of aspect ratio on the properties of cobalt nanowire-based magnetorheological fluids

There is growing international concern about the effects of human-generated sound on fish and other aquatic ***,because of a striking paucity of well-designed and controlled experimental data,very little is actually known about the effects of these sounds on *** suggest that human-generated sounds,even from very high intensity sources,might have no effect in some cases or might result in effects that range from small and temporary shifts in behavior all the way to immediate *** this point,however,it is nearly impossible to ex-trapolate from results with one sound source,one fish species,or even fish of one size to other sources,species,or fish *** present paper briefly discusses the potential effects of sound on fish,describes some of the more recent well-controlled experimental studies,and points out areas for future study that will be needed before a real understanding of the effects of sound on fish can be developed.

Wheat （Triticum aestivum） seeds were treated with atmospheric pressure gliding arc discharge plasmas to investigate the effects on water absorption, seed germination rate, seedling growth and yield in wheat. The surface architectures and functionalities of the seeds were found to modify due to plasma treatments. 6 rain treatment was provided 95%-100% germination rate. For the treatment duration of 3 and 9 rain the growth activity, dry matter accumulation, leaves chlorophyll contents, longest spikes, number of spikes/spikelet and total soluble protein content in shoots were improved. The grain yield of wheat was increased ,--20% by 6 min treatment with H2O/O2 plasma with respect to control.

THE EFFEcT OF BOROn AnD cARBOn ADDITIOn On WELDABILITY OF DS TMS-75 SUPERALLOY

Four alloys TMS-75 (Base), Base+B, Base+c and TMD-103 (Base+B+c) with varying levels of B, c were directionally solidified (DS), and their weldability was investigated by bead-on-plate electron beam welding. It was found that cracking occurred in the weld-metal, as well as in the heat affected zone (HAZ). Both γ/γ' and/or γ/carbide eutectic contributed to the weld-metal cracking, and the γ/γ' eutectic was found to be mainly responsible for cracking in HAZ. However, constitutional liquation of carbides seems to have made some contribution also. The B addition had a detrimental effect on HAZ cracking susceptibility, while c addition improved it appreciably even in the presence of B. In addition, no obvious differences were observed in cracking susceptibility of weld-metal in the four alloys. The cracking modes and mechanisms underlying the effect of B and c addition on weldability could be explained on the basis of microstructures of the four alloys.

Vision impairment is a latent problem that affects numerous people across the *** advancements,particularly the rise of computer processing abilities like Deep Learning(DL)models and emergence of wearables pave a way for assisting visually-impaired *** models developed earlier specifically for visually-impaired people work effectually on single object detection in unconstrained ***,in real-time scenarios,these systems are inconsistent in providing effective guidance for visually-impaired *** addition to object detection,extra information about the location of objects in the scene is essential for visually-impaired *** this in mind,the current research work presents an Efficient Object Detection Model with Audio Assistive System(EODM-AAS)using DL-based YOLO v3 model for visually-impaired *** aim of the research article is to construct a model that can provide a detailed description of the objects around visually-impaired *** presented model involves a DL-based YOLO v3 model for multi-label object ***,the presented model determines the position of object in the scene and finally generates an audio signal to notify the visually-impaired *** order to validate the detection performance of the presented method,a detailed simulation analysis was conducted on four *** simulation results established that the presented model produces effectual outcome over existing methods.
