Macroalgae are multicellular,aquatic autotrophs that play vital roles in global climate maintenance and have diverse applications in biotechnology and eco-engineering,which are directly linked to their multicellularity ***,their genomic diversity and the evolutionary mechanisms underlying multicellularity in these organisms remain *** this study,we sequenced 110 macroalgal genomes from diverse climates and phyla,and identified key genomic features that distinguish them from their microalgal *** for cell adhesion,extracellular matrix formation,cell polarity,transport,and cell differentiation distinguish macroalgae from microalgae across all three major phyla,constituting conserved and unique gene sets supporting multicellular *** genes show phylum-and climate-specific expansions that may facilitate niche ***,our study reveals genetic determinants of convergent and divergent evolutionary trajectories that have shaped morphological diversity in macroalgae and provides genome-wide frameworks to understand photosynthetic multicellular evolution in aquatic environments.

BAcKGROUND: Pain management following caesarean section still remains a challenge in our environment. Most potent analgesics are either not readily available or expensive. Diclofenac suppository is an NSAID that can be used for postoperative analgesia. It is available and affordable. OBJEcTIVE: To compare the efficacy and safety of combined rectal diclofenac and intramuscular pentazocine with intramuscular pentazocine alone for post operative pain control following lower segment caesarean section. METHODOLOGY: A total of 120 women who met the selection criteria scheduled for caesarean section under spinal anaesthesia with bupivacaine were randomized into two equal groups to receive either 75 mg diclofenac suppository 12 hourly for 24 hours or one anusol suppository (the placebo) 12 hourly for 24 hours. Both groups received pentazocine as primary analgesia. RESULT: The primary outcome measure is the proportion of patients with severe pain at 24 hours using the visual analogue rating scale. Secondary outcome measures are the time from surgery to ambulation, Passage of flatus, maternal satisfaction and presence of complications. Statistical analysis was done using spss version 22 and graph pad statistical package. Student T-test was used for continuous variables whereas chi square was used for categorical variables P cONcLUSION: Adjuvant rectal diclofenac is superior to pentazocine alone in the management of pain after caesarean section. Less number of patients had moderate to severe pain at 24 hours post operation. Maternal satisfaction in relation to pain management is better with diclofenac suppository. The levels of complications were comparable in both groups.

从艺术史中的“风景”视角出发,可以将电子游戏视为一种独特的文本。“风景”作为一个聚焦点,既连接着电子游戏的内在物质性,又能够从中反映作为背景的文化与社会经济关系。通过对《半衰期2》《反恐精英:全球攻势》《盖瑞的模组》这三款关系密切的游戏的分析,电子游戏中的风景可以概括为三大类型:主角的风景、多人游戏的旅游风景、模组的“沼泽地带”。主角的风景以玩家为中心,强调“普罗米修斯式”英雄主义和自我满足;多人游戏的旅游风景注重对称性和竞争性,并体现着经济特征;模组的“沼泽地带”代表着电子游戏与互联网文化的融合,展现出碎片化、临时性和相对主义的特点。从风景艺术的角度来理解电子游戏,作为切实可行又充满启发的视角,揭示了电子游戏这种艺术如何反映并塑造我们的文化与社会意识。

The occurrence of pharmaceuticals in water bodies and drinking water poses risks for the envi-ronment and human health,thus it is necessary to study methodologies that allow the efficient removal of these *** this work,corn cob-derived biochar was obtained by Zncl_(2)-activation,and subsequent carbonization at 700℃.The effect of contact time,temperature,pH,and initial concentration on the adsorption capacity of acetaminophen(AcE)and amoxicillin(AMX)was determined through batch *** addition,the kinetics,isotherms,and ther-modynamics parameters were *** activated biochar exhibited a maximum adsorp-tion capacity of 332.08 mg/g for AcE and 175.86 mg/g for *** adsorption kinetics and adsorption isotherm of AcE corresponded to the pseudo-second order and Langmuir model,***,pseudo-first-order kinetics and the Freundlich isotherm model were well-fitted to AMX *** AcE and AMX co-adsorption had a synergistic effect on AMX but an antagonistic effect on AcE removal,achieving a maximum adsorption capacity of 193.51 and 184.58 mg/g,*** the other hand,fixed-bed column experiments showed that the adsorption capacity depends on the influent concentration,and the breakthrough curve fits the Thomas and Yoon-nelson *** mechanism adsorption studies showed that surface inter-actions(hydrogen bonding formation and n-𝜋interactions)are the main driving forces for the adsorption process,and pore filling is the rate-limiting *** this way,the prepared biochar exhibits a high potential for the adsorption of pharmaceutical compounds from water.

Little is known about how to precisely promote the selective production of either colloidal semiconductor metal chalcogenide(ME),magic-size clusters(MScs),or quantum dots(QDs).Recently,a two-pathway model has been proposed to comprehend their evolution;here,we reveal for the first time that the size of precursors plays a decisive role in the selected evolution pathway of MScs and *** the reaction of cadmium myristate(cd(MA)2)and tri-n-octylphosphine selenide(SeTOP)in 1-octadecene(ODE)as a model system,the size of cd precursors was manipulated by the steric hindrance of carboxylic acid(RcOOH)*** RcOOH,the reaction produced both cdSe MScs and QDs(from 100 to 240℃).With RcOOH,the reaction produced MScs or QDs when R was small(such as cH3−)or large(such as c6H5−),*** to the twopathway model,the selective evolution is attributed to the promotion and suppression of the self-assembly of cd and Se precursors,*** propose that the addition of carboxylic acid may occur ligand exchange with cd(MA)2,causing the different sizes of cd *** results suggest that the size of cd precursors regulates the self-assemble behavior of the precursors,which dictates the directed evolution of either MScs or *** present findings bring insights into the two-pathway model,as the size of M and E precursors determine the evolution pathways of MScs or QDs,the understanding of which is of great fundamental significance toward mechanism-enabled design and predictive synthesis of functional nanomaterials.

A photochemistry coupled computational fluid dynamics （cFD） based numerical model has been developed to model the reactive pollutant dispersion within urban street canyons, particularly integrating the interrelationship among diurnal heating scenario （solar radiation affections in nighttime, daytime, and sun-rise/set）, wind speed, building aspect ratio （building-height-to-street-width）, and dispersion of reactive gases, specifically nitric oxide （NO）, nitrogen dioxide （NO2） and ozone （O3） such that a higher standard of air quality in metropolitan cities can be achieved. Validation has been done with both experimental and numerical results on flow and temperature fields in a street canyon with bottom heating, which justifies the accuracy of the current model. The model was applied to idealized street canyons of different aspect ratios from 0.5 to 8 with two different ambient wind speeds under different diurnal heating scenarios to estimate the influences of different aforementioned parameters on the chemical evolution of NO, NO2 and 03. Detailed analyses of vertical profiles of pollutant concentrations showed that different diurnal heating scenarios could substantially affect the reactive gases exchange between the street canyon and air aloft, followed by respective dispersion and reaction. Higher building aspect ratio and stronger ambient wind speed were revealed to be, in general, responsible for enhanced entrainment of 03 concentrations into the street canyons along windward walls under all diurnal heating scenarios. comparatively, particular attention can be paid on the windward wall heating and nighttime uniform surface heating scenarios.
