Background:Evaluation of forage resources is vital for the sustainability of livestock farming in the South American Andes,especially under conditions of low water availability for irrigation and acid ***:We evaluated the productivity and nutritive value of two cultivars of chicory(cichorium intybus L.)and one of plantain(Plantago lanceolata L.)in three high-altitude sites(AL)of the northern highlands of Peru:AL-Ⅰ:2300–2800 m.a.s.l,AL-Ⅱ:2801–3300 *** AL-Ⅲ:3301–3800 m.a.s.l.,for 1 *** parameters evaluated were dry matter yield(DMY),plant height(PH),growth rate(GR)and nutritional ***:Plantain achieved the greatest annual DMY(ADMY),PH and GR compared to the two chicory cultivars(9.34,9.56 and 13.39 Mg ha−1 for Puna Ⅱ and Sese 100 chicory and Tonic plantain,respectively;p=0.0019).The greatest ADMY and GR occurred at AL-Ⅰ.Regarding nutritional value,differences were observed only for in vitro digestibility of dry matter and metabolisable energy with chicory cultivars higher than ***:The results indicate that the three cultivars evaluated may be used as a nutritional supplement in cattle feed,associated with grasses because they have high nutritive value suitable for milk production in the mountain regions of Peru.

Role of seed size, phenology, oogenesis and host distribution in the specificity and genetic structure of seed weevils (curculio spp.) in mixed forests

Synchrony between seed growth and oogenesis is suggested to largely shape trophic breadth of seed-feeding insects and ultimately to contribute to their co-existence by means of resource partitioning or in the time when infestation *** we investigated:(i)the role of seed phenology and sexual maturation of females in the host specificity of seed-feeding weevils(curculio spp.)predating in hazel and oak mixed forests;and(ii)the consequences that trophic breadth and host distribution have in the genetic structure of the weevil *** analyses were used to establish unequivocally host specificity and to determine the population genetic *** identified 4 species with different specificity,namely curculio nucum females matured earlier and infested a unique host(hazelnuts,corylus avellana)while 3 species(curculio venosus,curculio glandium and curculio elephas)predated upon the acorns of the 2 oaks(Quercus ilex and Quercus pubescens).The high specificity of *** coupled with a more discontinuous distribution of hazel trees resulted in a significant genetic structure among *** addition,the presence of an excess of local rare haplotypes indicated that *** populations went through genetic expansion after recent ***,these effects were not observed in the more generalist curculio glandium predating upon ***,co-existence of weevil species in this multi-host-parasite system is influenced by both resource and time *** what extent the restriction in gene flow among *** populations may have negative consequences for their persistence in a time of increasing disturbances(*** in Mediterranean areas)deserves further research.

Metabolic diseases are highly prevalent worldwide and have been associated with adverse clinical outcomes,including mortality,in patients developing coronavirus disease(cOVID-19).Because of the close relationship between metabolic diseases such as type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity and the presence of metabolicassociated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),a high number of cases of patients affected by both MAFLD and cOVID-19 would be expected,especially in highrisk *** studies have shown an increased risk of adverse clinical outcomes,viral shedding,and deep vein thrombosis,especially in patients with MAFLD-related liver *** predisposition to poor outcomes and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection in patients with MAFLD could be secondary to mechanisms common to both,including preexisting systemic chronic inflammation,endothelial dysfunction,and involvement of the renin-angiotensin *** of the increased risk of adverse outcomes,MAFLD should be screened in all patients admitted for *** computed tomography scans could be of help,assessment of liver fibrosis is also recommended,favoring noninvasive methods to limit the exposure of healthcare *** involvement in this population ranges from abnormalities in liver chemistry to hepatic steatosis in postmortem ***,preventive measures should be strongly advocated in patients already known to have MAFLD,including the use of telemedicine and vaccination in addition to general measures.

Fuzzy Voice coding with Significant Impulses Modeling and Redundant Waveform Recycling

This paper proposes a voice codification based on two algorithms that make the wave form codification in time domain. The first uses the significant impulse model (SIM), which has as a goal to operate as an endpoint detector and as a dawn sampling, through the detection and selection of the significant valleys and crests;the second algorithm, is a redundant wave-form recycler (RWR) that uses an architecture based on fuzzy logic with an accumulative memory. The fuzzy algorithm obtains the similitude grade between the redundant wave forms, this with the objective of save into an knowledge base the patterns, based on the no supervised learning and when there are into memory, automatically there will be used to identified their arrive respect to the input signal, substituting the input block by the correspondent pattern into memory. This decoding process is using the SIM interpolation with a memory in accordance to the RWR.

The compressive deformation behavior of the extruded WZ42(Mg98.5Y1Zn0.5 in at.%)magnesium alloy containing a low amount of long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)phase was studied by in-situ synchrotron radiation diffraction *** were conducted at temperatures between room temperature and 350℃.Detailed microstructure investigation was provided by scanning electron microscopy,particularly the backscattered electron imaging and electron backscatter diffraction *** results show that twinning lost its dominance and kinking of the LPSO phase became more pronounced with increasing deformation *** cracks of the LPSO phase and no debonding r at the interface between the LPSO phase and the Mg matrix were observed at temperatures above 200℃.At 350℃,the LPSO phase lost its strengthening effect and the deformation of the alloy was mainly realized by the dynamic recrystallization of the Mg matrix.

Evolutive Neural Net Fuzzy Filtering: Basic Description

The paper describes the operation principles of the evolutive neuro fuzzy filtering (ENFF) properties, which based on back propagation fuzzy neural net, this filter adaptively choose and emit a decision according with the reference signal changes of an external reference process, in order to actualize the best correct new conditions updating a process. This neural net fuzzy filter mechanism selects the best parameter values into the knowledge base (KB), to update the filter weights giving a good enough answers in accordance with the reference signal in natural sense. The filter architecture includes a decision making stage using an inference into its structure to deduce the filter decisions in accordance with the previous and actual filter answer in order to updates the new decision with respect to the new reference system con-ditions. The filtering process states require that bound into its own time limit as real time system, considering the Ny-quist and Shannon criteria. The characterization of the membership functions builds the knowledge base in probabilis-tic sense with respect to the rules set inference to describe the reference system and deduce the new filter decision, per-forming the ENFF answers. Moreover, the paper describes schematically the neural net architecture and the deci-sion-making stages in order to integrate them into the filter architecture as intelligent system. The results expressed in formal sense use the concepts into the paper references with a simulation of the ENFF into a Kalman filter structure using the Matlab? tool.

Are we giving biologics too late? The case for early versus late use

corticosteroids and immunomodulators have been the mainstay therapies for crohn’s disease. corticosteroids are highly effective to control symptoms in the short- term, but they are not effective in maintaining remission, they heal the mucosa in a reduced proportion of cases, and long-time exposure is associated with an increased risk of infections and mortality. Immunomodulators, azathioprine and methotrexate, heal the mucosa in a higher proportion of patients that corticosteroids but their onset of action is slow and they benefit less than half of patients with crohn’s disease. In the last decade, medical therapy for crohn’s disease has experienced a remarkable change due to the introduction of biologic therapy, and particularly the use of anti-tumour necrosis factor-alpha agents. Infliximab, adalimumab, and certolizumab pegol have demonstrated efficacy for induction and maintenance of remission in active crohn’s disease. These agents have raised the bar for what is a suitable symptomatic response in crohn’s disease and modification of the natural history of the disease has become a major goal in the treatment of crohn’s disease. There are several data in the literature that suggest that early use of biologic therapy and achievement of mucosal healing contribute to disease course modification. However, many questions on early biological therapy for crohn’s disease remain still unanswered.

Fuzzy Digital Filtering: Signal Interpretation

The paper makes a description of the fuzzy filter properties considering its operational principles. A digital filter interacts with a reference model signal into real process in order to get the best corresponding answer, having the minimum error at the filter output using the mean square criterion. Adding into this filter structure a fuzzy mechanism, to obtain an intelligent filtering because adaptively select and emit a decision answer according with the external reference signal changes, in order to actualize the best correct new conditions updating a process dynamically. The interpretation of the input signal level describes the operation of the reference model, to update the filter weights giving the answers approximation in accordance with the reference signal in natural form. Finally the paper shows the simulations results of the fuzzy filter into the Kalman structure using the Matlab? tool.
