To study the temperature distribution and thermal-stress field in different service stages, a two-dimensional model of a turbine blade with thermal barrier coatings is developed, in which the conjugate heat transfer analysis and the decoupled thermal-stress calculation method are adopted. Based on the simulation results, it is found that a non-uniform distribution of temperature appears in different positions of the blade surface, which has directly impacted on stress field. The maximum temperature with a value of 1030 ℃ occurs at the leading edge. During the steady stage, the maximum stress of thermally grown oxide （TGO） appears in the middle of the suction side, reaching 3.75 GPa. At the end stage of cooling, the maximum compressive stress of TGO with a value of-3.5 GPa occurs at the leading edge. Thus, it can be predicted that during the steady stage the dangerous regions may locate at the suction side, while the leadine edge mav be more Drone to failure on cooling.

Predicting the future course of an epidemic depends on being able to estimate the current numbers of infected ***,while back-projection techniques allow reliable estimation of the numbers of infected individuals in the more distant past,they are less reliable in the recent *** propose two new nonparametric methods to estimate the unobserved numbers of infected individuals in the recent past in an *** proposed methods are noniterative,easily computed and asymptotically normal with simple variance *** show that the proposed methods are much more robust and accurate than the existing back projection method,especially for the recent past,which is our primary *** apply the proposed methods to the 2003 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndorme(SARS) epidemic in Hong Kong.

Structural biology of the macroautophagy machinery

Macroautophagy is a conserved degradative process mediated through formation of a unique double- membrane structure, the autophagosome. The discovery of autophagy-related （Atg） genes required for autophagosome formation has led to the characterization of approximately 20 genes mediating this process. Recent structural studies of the Atg proteins have provided the molecular basis for their function. Here we summarize the recent progress in elucidating the structural basis for autophagosome formation.

The conventional vector addition theorem is written in a compact *** a new and succinct derivation of the vector addition theorem is presented thatis as close to the derivation of the scalar addition theorem. Newly derived expressionsin this new derivation are used to diagonalize the vector addition theorem. Thediagonal form of the vector addition theorem is important in the design of fast algorithmsfor computational wave physics such as computational electromagnetics andcomputational acoustics.

Effective regulation of human fertility has global consequences in terms of resource depletion, pollution and pover-ty. current family planning services predominantly target a female clientele with few significant developments in malefertility regulation for over a century. The last two decades have witnessed a gathering interest, initially from the scien-tific community, and laterally from industry, in the development of safe, reliable, reversible methods of contraceptionfor men. This review summarises the methods of male fertility regulation which are currently available and critically ex-amines the published data on novel developments in male hormonal contraception which offer the potential of improvedcontraceptive choice for all in new millennium. The effects of glycyrrhizic acid and glabridin in the regulation of cXcL5 inflammation gene on acceleration of wound healing

Objective: To evaluate the anti-inflammatory property of both glycyrrhizic acid(GA)and glabridin in reducing inflammation to accelerate wound regeneration on 3T3-L1 and NIH-3T3 fibroblast cell ***: cell proliferation and viability assay(MTT assay), scratch wound healing assays,and quantitative real-time PcR were conducted to investigate the effects on cell proliferation,cell migration, and expression of cXc chemokine ligand 5 inflammation gene ***: Results showed that at a low concentration of 1 × 10^(-8)mol/L, glabridin down regulated cell proliferation in NIH-3T3 significantly, suggesting its involvement in ERK1/2 signaling pathway. GA and glabridin significantly accelerated cell migration through wound healing in both 3T3-L1 and NIH-3T3 and significantly down regulated the expression of cXc chemokine ligand 5 in 3T3-L1 at concentration 1 × 10^(-8)mol/L,indicating the possible involvement of nuclear factor-k B and cyclooxygenase 2 transcriptions ***: Both GA and glabridin can serve as potential treatment for chronic inflammatory disease, and glabridin as an oncogenic inhibitor due to its anti-proliferative property.

Nonlinear vibrations of nano-beams accounting for nonlocal effect using a multiple scale method

The nonlinear free transverse vibrations of a nano-beam on simple supports are investigated based on nonlocal elasticity theory. The governing equation is proposed by considering geometric nonlinearity due to finite stretching of the beam. The method of multiple scales is applied to the governing equa- tion to evaluate the nonlinear natural frequencies. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the analytical results and highlight the contributions of the nonlinear term and nonlocal effect.

The liver,adipose tissue,and skeletal muscle work not only independently but also collaboratively to maintain glucose and lipid homeostasis under different nutritional and environmental conditions(da Silva Rosa et al.,2020).Dysfunctions of these active metabolic and endocrine tissues lead to a variety of metabolic,cardiovascular,and cerebrovascular disorders,including type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM),atherosclerosis,metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD;also previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease),and stroke(wang et al.,2020).Here,we summarize the interaction between the liver and muscle in the regulation of glucolipid metabolism and discuss the key metabolic factors that mediate their crosstalk in the context of physiological(fasting and postprandial state)and pathological conditions(obesity,T2DM,and MAFLD).

Dynamic behaviour of axially moving nanobeams based on nonlocal elasticity approach

In this article, transverse free vibrations of axially moving nanobeams subjected to axial tension are studied based on nonlocal stress elasticity theory. A new higher-order differential equation of motion is derived from the variational principle with corresponding higher-order, non-classical boundary conditions. Two supporting conditions are investigated, i.e. simple supports and clamped supports. Effects of nonlocal nanoscale, dimensionless axial velocity, density and axial tension on natural frequencies are presented and discussed through numerical examples. It is found that these factors have great influence on the dynamic behaviour of an axially moving nanobeam. In particular, the nonlocal effect tends to induce higher vibration frequencies as compared to the results obtained from classical vibration theory. Analytical solutions for critical velocity of these nanobeams when the frequency vanishes are also derived and the influences of nonlocal nanoscale and axial tension on the critical velocity are discussed.
