To the Editor:Extraovarian primary peritoneal carcinoma(EOPPc)is an uncommon malignancy with many similarities to epithelial ovarian carcinoma in histological,clinical,and etiological aspects[1].This phenomenon is explained by their common embryonal origin,in which both develop from the coelomic epithelium in the early embryological *** their similarities,the incidence of EOPPc is significantly lower than that of epithelial ovarian carcinoma(6.78 cases per million vs.120.5 cases per million)[1].

Background:Our clinical practice of laparoscopic liver resection(LLR)had achieved better short-term and long-term benefits for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(Hcc)over open liver resection(OLR),but the underlying mechanisms are not *** study was to find out whether systemic inflammation plays an important ***:A total of 103 patients with early-stage Hcc under liver resection were enrolled(LLR group,n=53;OLR group,n=50).The expression of 9 inflammatory cytokines in patients at preoperation,postoperative day 1(POD1)and POD7 was quantified by Luminex Multiplex *** relationships of the cytokines and the postoperative outcomes were compared between LLR and ***:Seven of the circulating cytokines were found to be significantly upregulated on POD1 after LLR or OLR compared to their preoperative *** to OLR,the POD1 levels of granulocytemacrophage colony-stimulating factor(GM-cSF),interleukin-6(IL-6),IL-8,and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1(McP-1)in the LLR group were significantly *** POD1 levels of these cytokines were significantly correlated with longer operative time and higher volume of blood loss during *** levels of these cytokines were positively associated with postoperative liver injury,and the length of hospital ***,a high level of IL-6 at POD1 was a risk factor for Hcc recurrence and poor disease-free survival after liver ***:Significantly lower level of GM-cSF,IL-6,IL-8,and McP-1 after liver resection represented a milder systemic inflammation which might be an important mechanism to offer better short-term and long-term outcomes in LLR over OLR.

Background:Skeletal muscle energetics decline with age,and physical activity(PA)has been shown to offset these declines in older ***,many studies reporting these effects were based on self-reported PA or structured exercise ***,we examined the associations of accelerometry-measured and self-reported PA and sedentary behavior(SB)with skeletal muscle energetics and explored the extent to which PA and sedentary behavior would attenuate the associations of age with muscle ***:As part of the Study of Muscle,Mobility and Aging,enrolled older adults(n=879),810(age=76.4±5.0 years old,mean±SD;58%women)had maximal muscle oxidative capacity measured ex vivo via high-resolution re spirometry of permeabilized myofibers(maximal oxidative phosphorylation(maxOXPHOS))and in vivo by ^(31)phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy(maximal adenosine triphosphate(ATP_(max))).Accelerometry-measured sedentary behavior,light activity,and moderate-to-vigorous PA(MVPA)were assessed using a wrist-worn ActiGraph GT9X over 7 ***-reported sedentary behavior,MVPA,and all PA were assessed with the community Healthy Activities Model Program for Seniors(cHAMPS)*** regression models with progressive covariate adjustments evaluated the associations of sedentary behavior and PA with muscle energetics,as well as the attenuation of the age/muscle energetics association by MVP A and sedentary *** a sensitivity analysis,we also examined activPAL-measured daily step count and time spent in sedentary behavior and their associations with muscle ***:Every 30 min/day more of ActiGraph-measured MVPA was associated with 0.65 pmol/(s×mg)higher maxOXPHOS and 0.012 mM/s higher ATP_(max)after adjusting for age,site/technician,and sex(pctivity was not associated with maxOXPHOS or ATP_(max).Meanwhile,every 30 min/day spent in ActiGraph-measured sedentary behavior was associated with 0.39 pmol/s×mg lower maxOXPHOS and0.

Insufficient future liver remnant (FLR) is an important factor that precludes patient from upfront major liver resection as it predisposes to post-hepatectomy liver failure and mortality. As such, augmentation of FLR by portal vein embolization (PVE) was the conventional approach to improve the safety profile of major hepatectomy. In recent years, associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) has been popularized as an alternative approach for FLR augmentation (1,2). However, the initial inception of the ALPPS procedure was met by criticism for its high incidence of procedure-related morbidity, such as bile leakage and sepsis (3). In light of this issue, an international registry was set up for collection of cases and experience around the world and soon after that, the first International Expert Meeting was held in Hamburg in 2015 that led to the publication of eight recommendations on terminology of the procedures, indications and techniques for ALPPS (4). Two years later, a pre-congress meeting was held during the EHPBA (European Hepatopancreatobiliary Association) 12th Annual congress in Mainz, Germany to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of ALPPS (5) since the first case was performed by Prof. Hans Schlitt a decade ago (1). During this meeting, ten different aspects on ALPPS were covered including surgical anatomy, underlying mechanisms, perioperative assessment of liver function, technical approach, indications and its effectiveness in comparison to two-stage hepatectomy.

Nowadays,Multi Robotic System(MRS)consisting of different robot shapes,sizes and capabilities has received significant attention from researchers and are being deployed in a variety of real-world *** sensors and actuators improved by communication technologies to powerful computing systems utilizing advanced Artificial Intelligence(AI)algorithms have rapidly driven the development of MRS,so the Internet of Things(IoT)in MRS has become a new topic,namely the Internet of Robotic Things(IoRT).This paper summarizes a comprehensive survey of state-of-the-art technologies for mobile robots,including general architecture,benefits,challenges,practical applications,and future research *** addition,remarkable research of i)multirobot navigation,ii)network architecture,routing protocols and communications,and iii)coordination among robots as well as data analysis via external computing(cloud,fog,edge,edge-cloud)are merged with the IoRT architecture according to their ***,security is a long-term challenge for IoRT because of various attack vectors,security flaws,and *** threats,attacks,and existing solutions based on IoRT architectures are also under ***,the identification of environmental situations that are crucial for all types of IoRT applications,such as the detection of objects,human,and obstacles,is also critically ***,future research directions are given by analyzing the challenges of IoRT in mobile robots.

This study analyzes live facial videos for recognizing nonverbal learning-related facial movements and head poses to discover the learning status of students. First, color and depth facial videos captured by a Kinect are analyzed for face tracking using a three-dimensional （3D） active appearance model （AAM）. Second, the facial feature vector sequences are used to train hidden Markov models （HMMs） to recognize seven learning-related facial movements （smile, blink, frown, shake, nod, yawn, and talk）. The final stage involves the analysis of the facial movement vector sequence to evaluate three status scores （understanding, interaction, and consciousness）, each represents the learning status of a student and is helpful to both teachers and students for improving teaching and learning. Five teaching activities demonstrate that the proposed learning status analysis system promotes the interpersonal communication between teachers and students.

Hepatic malignancy is a major indication for liver transplantation;however,post-tra ns plant cancer recurrence is an emerging clinical challenge affecting long-term ***-tra ns plant tumor biology,staging,and post-transplant immunosuppression regimens have been elucidated as risk factors for recurrent liver ***,increasing evidence indicates that hepatic ischemia and reperfusion(IR)injury to allografts are crucial to providing a favorable immunologic microenvironment for cancer cell invasiveness and metastasis after liver *** association of severe graft injury in marginal grafts,such as small-for-size or fatty grafts,with lower recurrence-free survival rates in living donor liver transplantations,substantiates the correlation between hepatic IR injury and cancer *** has been demonstrated to trigger intrahepatic immunological microenvironment remodeling,including pro-inflammatory responses exacerbating graft injury and anti-inflammatory responses promoting tissue ***,the role of regional immunity in post-transplant cancer recurrence is not comprehensively *** review describes the up-to-date evidence of the intrahepatic humoral microenvironment and regional regulatory immunological microenvironment induced by IR injury,as well as their roles in cancer recurrence after liver transplantation.A comprehensive understanding of regional immunity will provide novel precise diagnostic,therapeutic,and prognostic strategies for post-transplant cancer recurrence.

Analysis of cD117-negative gastrointestinal stromal tumors

AIM: To identify the gastrointestinal stromal tumors(GISTs) that are negative for cD117 expression by immunohistochemistry and to characterize their malignant ***: A total of 108 primary mesenchymal tumors of the gastrointestinal tract were screened to select cD117-negative tumors, from which KIT(exons 9, 11, 13, and 17)and PDGFRA (exons 10, 12, 14, and 18) were sequenced to identify GISTs. Tumor recurrence and distant metastasis were used as the criteria of ***: The result showed that approximately 25%(29/108) of the gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumors were negative for cD117 and approximately 6% (7/108)of the tumors were cD117-negative GISTs. All these cD117-negative tumors had a mutated KITand a wildtype PDGFRA. All cD117-negative GISTs with mutations at codons 557/558 of KIThad mitotic counts ＞10/50 high power field, and 75% (3/4) of them showed multiple recurrence or distant ***: cD1 17-negative KITmutated GISTs account for approximately 6% of the gastrointestinal mesenchymal tumors. Tumor recurrence or distant metastasis correlates to both theKITmutations at codons 557/558 and the mitotic counts, but not to the tumor size.

The recent surge of mobile subscribers and user data traffic has accelerated the telecommunication sector towards the adoption of the fifth-generation (5G) mobile networks. cloud radio access network (cRAN) is a prominent framework in the 5G mobile network to meet the above requirements by deploying low-cost and intelligent multiple distributed antennas known as remote radio heads (RRHs). However, achieving the optimal resource allocation (RA) in cRAN using the traditional approach is still challenging due to the complex structure. In this paper, we introduce the convolutional neural network-based deep Q-network (cNN-DQN) to balance the energy consumption and guarantee the user quality of service (QoS) demand in downlink cRAN. We first formulate the Markov decision process (MDP) for energy efficiency (EE) and build up a 3-layer cNN to capture the environment feature as an input state space. We then use DQN to turn on/off the RRHs dynamically based on the user QoS demand and energy consumption in the cRAN. Finally, we solve the RA problem based on the user constraint and transmit power to guarantee the user QoS demand and maximize the EE with a minimum number of active RRHs. In the end, we conduct the simulation to compare our proposed scheme with nature DQN and the traditional approach.

Electrosorption of oxygen and cO on Ru(0001) surface were investigated by ex-situ electron diffraction (LEED/RHEED), AES and electrochemical data. The Ru(0001) surface exhibited a strongly affinity for oxygen which gave preference to form a (22)-O phase. However, anodization of Ru(0001) electrode produced a (11)-O phase. A coadsorption structure (2cO+O)(22) / Ru(0001) was performed from electrosorption of cO on Ru(0001) surface in electrolyte solution.
