Lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide blended in polyurethane acrylate photocurable solid polymer electrolytes for lithium-ion batteries

The increased demand of electronic devices promotes the development of advanced and more efficient energy storage devices, such as batteries. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are the most studied battery systems due to their high performance. Among the different battery components, the separator allows the control of lithium ion diffusion between the electrodes. To overcome some drawbacks of liquid electrolytes, including safety and environmental issues, solid polymer electrolytes (SPEs) are being developed. In this work, a UV photocurable polyurethane acrylate (PUA) resin has been blended with lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl) imide (LiTFSI) up to 30 wt% LiTFSI content to reach a maximum ionic conductivity of 0.0032 mS/cm at room temperature and 0.09 mS/cm at 100 ℃. Those values allowed applying the developed materials as photocurable SPE in Swagelok type Li/c-LiFePO_(4) half-cells, reaching a battery discharge capacity value of 139 mAh.g^(−1) at c/30 rate. Those results, together with the theoretical studies of the discharge capacity at different c-rates and temperatures for batteries with LiTFSI/PUA SPE demonstrate the suitability of the developed photocurable SPE for LIB applications.

Resistance and Reactance of monopole Fields Induced by a Test charge Drifting Off-Axis in a cold and collisional cylindrical Plasma

We study the interaction of a uniform, cold and collisional plasma with a test charged particle moving off-axis at a constant speed down a cylindrical tube with a resistive thick metallic wall. Upon matching the electromagnetic field components at all interfaces, the induced monopole electromagnetic fields in the plasma are obtained in the frequency domain. An expression for the plasma electric resistance and reactance is derived and analyzed numerically for some representative parameters. Near the plasma resonant frequency, the plasma resistance evolves with frequency like a parallel RLc resonator with peak resistance at the plasma frequency pe, while the plasma reactance can be capacitive or inductive in nature depending on the frequency under consideration.

Distinct physiological mechanisms underpin growth and rehydration of Hymenaea courbaril and Hymenaea stigonocarpa upon short-term exposure to drought stress

Plants hold biochemical and physiological mechanisms to withstand drought ***,depending on water deficit interval,plant rehydration relies on how it can retain growth or a positive water balance—or rarely *** this study,two species of Hymenaea,one from the Amazon and the other from the Brazilian cerrado,were investigated for their physiological mechanism associated with growth rehydration upon short-term exposure to drought *** findings demonstrate that Hymenaea courbaril tends to invest in nitrogen to the detriment of carbon compounds,-as it is limited by lower net photosynthesis-and adjust root growth to attenuate drought stress *** contrast,Hymenaea stigonocarpa takes advantage of higher water potential and a basal rate of lower net photosynthesis to support aboveground growth under such ***,it is postulated that there are distinct ways of controlling water status and growth between *** and ***,which are determined either by the ability of the species to keep net photosynthesis at low levels of water content or by favoring the accumulation of nitrogen *** mechanisms were effective with regards to water use efficiency and thus it is reasonable to suggest that strategies are not exclusive and may work under adverse conditions,as observed in Amazon and Brazilian cerrado ***.

Let G be a finite group. A subgroup H of G is called an H-subgroup in G if NG（H）∩ H^g ≤ H for all g c G. A subgroup H of G is called a weakly H-subgroup in G if there exists a normal subgroup K of G such that G = HK and H N K is an H-subgroup in G. In this paper, we investigate the structure of the finite group G under the assumption that every subgroup of G of prime order or of order 4 is a weakly H-subgroup in G. Our results improve and generalize several recent results in the literature.

Evaluation of Soil Quality Indicators in Sugarcane management in Sandy Loam Soil

An important factor for the sustainability of soils highly susceptible to degradation is the use of monitoring tools that promptly and realistically reflect changes imposed on soil by different cropping systems. To select soil quality indicator variables in sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum L.) production areas that fulfill the criteria of sensitivity to management practices and between-season consistency in the management discrimination, ten composite soil samples (0–10 cm) were collected in July 2005 (rainy season) and again in march 2006 (dry season) from areas under cultivation of organic sugarcane (OS), green sugarcane (GS), burned sugarcane (BS) and from an adjacent native forest (NF) area at Usina Triunfo, Boca da mata, alagoas, Brazil. microbial biomass-c (mBc), total organic c (TOc), soil enzyme activity expressed as the rate of fluorescein diacetate (FDA) hydrolysis, mean weight diameter of water-stable soil aggregates (mWD), and percentage of water-stable macroaggregates (PWSA) were analyzed. although mBc and TOc were higher in NF than in the cultivated areas, no differences were observed in these c pools between the three sugarcane systems. The response of FDA to the site management was dependent on the sampling time. In the rainy period, the activity followed the order: NF > OS > GS > BS, whereas in the dry season, only NF differed from the other treatments. Irrespective of the sampling time, mWD and PWSA decreased in the order NF > OS = GS > BS. The variables mWD and PWSA are quite sensitive for discriminating between site management histories regardless the sampling season.

Impact pile driving is an interesting technique for the construction of deep foundations from a practical and economical point of ***,the generalization of this technique can be restricted due to the excessive vibration levels that can be generated,which can be especially problematic in residential ***,different mitigation measures can be applied to prevent excessive vibration levels inside buildings located near construction *** compare its efficiency through a numerical prediction tool,two experimental test sites are first presented and *** the results obtained,it was found that the construction of an open trench near the impact source can be used as an efficient mitigation measure to reduce the maximum vibration levels evaluated in this study.

Strategic Analysis of a Regulatory conflict Using Dempster-Shafer Theory and AHP for Preference Elicitation

Dempster-Shafer Theory (DST) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) are integrated in order to elicit preference information from experts regarding decision makers (Dms) involved in a regulatory conflict. more precisely, DST is used for combining expert knowledge regarding preferences of a specific Dm (the regulatory body), and AHP is employed for ranking feasible states in the conflict for this same Dm. In order to illustrate how this preference elicitation proposal can be conveniently implemented in practice within the Graph model for conflict Resolution (GmcR), it is applied to a real construction dispute located in the city of Ipojuca, Brazil. The conflict is modeled with three Dms: support, opposition, and the regulatory body. Results show that the new preference methodology possesses many inherent advantages including high flexibility the ability to capture uncertainty or even ignorance about preferences, the possibility of combining expert knowledge with respect to missing preferences, and a substantial reduction in the number of pairwise comparisons of states required to express preference information.

Improved dark ambient degradation of organic pollutants by cerium strontium cobalt perovskite

This work investigates the effect of cerium substation into strontium cobalt perovskites(ceSrcoO)for the oxidative degradation of OrangeⅡ(OII)in dark ambient conditions without the aid of any external stimulants such as light,heating or chemical *** OII degradation rate by ceSrcoO reached 65%in the first hour,whilst for the blank sample without cerium(SrcoO)took over 2 hr to reach the same level of OII ***,the cerium substitution improved the catalytic activity of the perovskite material,mainly associated with the ce0.1Sr0.9coO3 perovskite *** contacting ceSrcoO,the-N=Nazo bonds of the OII molecules broke down resulting in electron donation and the formation of *** electrons are injected into the ceSrcoO and resulted in a redox pair of co3+/co2+,establishing a bridge for the electron transfer between OII and the ***,the electrons also formed reactive species(·OH)responsible for OII degradation as evidenced by radical trapping *** species were formed via the reaction between 02 and donated electrons from OII with the aid of cobalt redox *** the prepared materials dispensed with the need for light irradiation and additional oxidants,it opens a window of environmental applications for treating contaminated wastewaters.

Global pattern of conodont similarity and faunal constraints during the highstand of the Evae eustatic event(late Floian,Lower Ordovician)

One of the largest Ordovician sea-level rises is the Evae transgression,which occurs in the lower part of the Oepikodus evae Biozone,indicative of a late Floian ***,the characteristics associated with the highstand of this event included:a higher proportion of specimens of the index species *** than other species,a diversity acme in the evae Biozone,and a reduction of biogeographic barriers that resulted in a high proportion of species with cosmopolitan *** the present contribution,the pattern of species similarity among Laurentia,Argentine Precordillera,Baltica,Kazakhstania,South china,and Australia is evaluated with a multiple coefficient analysis including only the sections that recorded the highstand of the Evae ***,the effect of possible terrestrial,latitudinal,physicochemical barriers and palaeogeographic distance on the species distribution is statistically *** results show a global pattern of conodont species distribution that is highly constrained by the tested palaeoenvironmental *** suggests that contrary to what was expected for a prominent transgression,faunal barriers did not decrease significantly during the Evae drowning peak.

Kaolin-based geopolymers with various NaOH concentrations

Kaolin geopolymers were produced by the alkali-activation of kaolin with an activator solution （a mixture of NaOH and sodium silicate solutions）. The NaOH solution was prepared at a concentration of 6-14 mol/L and was mixed with the sodium silicate solution at a Na2SiO3/NaOH mass ratio of 0.24 to prepare an activator solution. The kaolin-to-activator solution mass ratio used was 0.80. This paper aimed to analyze the effect of NaOH concentration on the compressive strength of kaolin geopolymers at 80℃ for 1, 2, and 3 d. Kaolin geopolymers were stable in water, and strength results showed that the kaolin binder had adequate compressive strength with 12 mol/L of NaOH concentration. When the NaOH concentration increased, the SiO2/Na20 decreased. The increased Na20 content enhanced the dissolution of kaolin as shown in X-ray diffraction （XRD） and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR） analyses. However, excess in this content was not beneficial for the strength development of kaolin geopolymers. In addition, there was the formation of more geopolymeric gel in 12 mol/L samples. The XRD pattern of the samples showed a higher amorphous content and a more geopolymer bonding existed as proved by FTIR analysis.
