On the half-quantized Hall conductance of massive surface electrons in magnetic topological insulator films

In topological insulators,massive surface states resulting from local symmetry breaking were thought to exhibit a half-quantized Hall conductance,obtained from the low-energy effective model in an infinite Brillouin *** a lattice model,the surface band is composed of a combination of surface states and bulk *** massive surface states alone may not be enough to support an exact one-half quantized surface Hall conductance in a finite Brillouin zone and the whole surface band always gives an integer quantized Hall conductance as enforced by the TKNN *** explore this,we investigate the band structures of a lattice model describing the magnetic topological insulator film that supports the axion insulator,chern insulator,and semi-magnetic topological insulator *** reveal that the gapped and gapless surface bands in the three phases are characterized by an integer-quantized Hall conductance and a half-quantized Hall conductance,*** propose an effective model to describe the three phases and show that the low-energy dispersion of the surface bands inherits from the surface Dirac *** gapped surface band manifests a nearly half-quantized Hall conductance at low energy near the center of Brillouin zone,but is compensated by another nearly half-quantized Hall conductance at high energy near the boundary of Brillouin zone because a single band can only have an integer-quantized Hall *** gapless band hosts a zero Hall conductance at low energy but is compensated by another half-quantized Hall conductance at high energy,and thus the half-quantized Hall conductance can only originate from the gapless ***,we calculate the layer-resolved Hall conductance of the *** conclusion suggests that the individual gapped surface band alone does not support the half-quantized surface Hall effect in a lattice model.

Radiative decays D((s))*→D((s))γare revisited in light of new experimental data from the BaBar and BESⅢ*** radiative couplings gD*Dγencoding nonperturbative QcD effects are calculated in the framework of the covariant confined quark model developed by *** compare our results with other theoretical studies and experimental *** couplings(in GeV-1)|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.45(9)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.72(34)calculated in our model agree with the corresponding experimental data|g(D*+D+γ)|=0.47(7)and|g(D*0D0γ)|=1.77(16).The most interesting case is the decay Ds*→Dsγ,for which a recent prediction based on light-cone sum rules at next-to-leading order|gDs*Dsγ|=0.60(19)deviates from the first(and only to date)lattice QcD result|gDs*Dsγ|=0.11(2)at nearly3σ.Our calculation yields|gDs*Dsγ|=0.29(6),which falls somehow between the two mentioned results,although it is larger than those predicted in other studies using quark models or QcD sum rules.

It is generally accepted that jasmonate-ZIm domain(JAZ)repressors act to mediate jasmonate(JA)signaling via cORONATINE-INSENSITIVE1(cOI1)-mediated ***,we report a cryptic signaling cascade where a JAZ repressor,FvJAZ12,mediates multiple signaling inputs via phosphorylation-modulated subcellular translocation rather than the cOI1-mediated degradation mechanism in strawberry(Fragaria vesca).FvJAZ12 acts to regulate flavor metabolism and defense response,and was found to be the target of Fv mPK6,a mitogen-activated protein kinase that is capable of responding to multiple signal ***6 phosphorylates FvJAZ12 at the amino acid residues S179 and T183 adjacent to the PY residues,thereby attenuating its nuclear accumulation and relieving its repression for FvmYc2,which acts to control the expression of lipoxygenase 3(FvLOX3),an important gene involved in JA biosynthesis and a diverse array of cellular *** data reveal a previously unreported mechanism for JA signaling and decipher a signaling cascade that links multiple signaling inputs with fruit trait development.

The objective of this paper was to study low temperature crack resistance mechanism of steel slag asphalt mixture(SAm).Thermal stress restrained specimen test(TSRST)and three-point bending test were carried out to evaluate the low-temperature crack resistance of SAm and basalt asphalt mixture(BAm).Based on the digital image correlation technique(DIc),the strain field distribution and crack propagation of SAm were analyzed from the microscopic point of view,and a new index,crack length factor(c),was proposed to evaluate the crack resistance of the asphalt *** crystal phase composition and microstructure of steel slag aggregate(SA)and basalt aggregate(BA)were studied by X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEm)to explore the low-temperature crack resistance mechanism of *** show that the low-temperature crack resistance of SAm is better than that of BAm;SAm has good integrity and persistent elastic deformation,and its bending failure mode is a hysteretic quasi-brittle failure;The SA surface is evenly distributed with pores and has surface *** has the composition phase of alkaline aggregate-calcite(cacO3),so it has good adhesion to asphalt,which reveals the mechanism of excellent low-temperature crack resistance of SAm.

Effects of the properties of mg(OH)_(2)precursor on the hydrothermal synthesis of magnesium oxysulfate whiskers

magnesium oxysulfate(mOS)whiskers are commonly synthesized through a dissolution-precipitation mechanism,wherein mg(OH)_(2)dissolves to form mg(OH)64−,followed by reactions with SO_(4)^(2−)and H_(2)O to yield mOS ***,the impact of mg(OH)_(2)precursor properties on the formation process of mOS whiskers has been insufficiently explored,and sector-like and needle-like morphologies were both observed in previous *** this study,we systematically investigated how the properties of mg(OH)_(2)precursors influenced the crystalline structure and morphology of mOS *** various experimental conditions,mgSO_(4)·5mg(OH)_(2)·2H_(2)O(152mOS)whiskers were consistently obtained,regardless of mg(OH)_(2)morphology and *** size of mg(OH)_(2)emerged as a critical factor in shaping the morphology of 152mOS ***-sized mg(OH)_(2)(≤106±37 nm)favored the formation of sector-like whiskers,while larger-sized mg(OH)_(2)(≥206±98 nm)encouraged the development of needle-like *** distinction was attributed to the slower dissolution rate exhibited by larger-sized mg(OH)_(2),maintaining a smaller number of 152mOS nuclei and promoting the growth of needle-like whiskers instead of the aggregation of 152mOS nuclei into sector-like *** addition,the effects of the molar ratio of mg^(2+)to SO_(4)^(2−)and hydrothermal temperature were also *** average length and diameter of the needle-like whiskers prepared with mg(OH)_(2)of 331±145 nm under optimized conditions were 77±32 and 0.39±0.10μm,*** study presented an effective strategy for controlling the morphology of 152mOS whiskers.

A deformation criterion of pressurized non-circular cross-section cabin and its effects on cruise performance of BWB civil aircraft

Blended-Wing-Body(BWB)aircraft is promoted as one of the most possible layouts to achieve more sustainable civil *** to the non-circular cross-section of the center-body,a bulge deformation forms over the upper surface of the body under the coupled loads of the internal pressurization of the cabin and the aerodynamic bending moments of the wing,which reduces the lift-to-drag ratio of BWB *** a limited deformation,the relationship between the aerodynamic performance and the structural weight needs to be *** this work,the effects of stiffness constraints on the center-body deformation,structural weight of the airframe and aerodynamic performance were investigated by using an analytical model of the Pultruded Rod Stitched Efficient Unitized Structure(PRSEUS)for the airframe and the computational fluid dynamics method,*** results show that as the stiffness constraint increases,the spacings between the rod stringers and the frame stiffeners decrease,and the structural weight increases inversely.A 5.2% reduction of the lift-to-drag ratio is encountered at cruise for a medium deformation design of 42.8 mm/m.A higher aerodynamic penalty is suffered when the stiffness constraint is further *** final deformation criterion is different when the weight vector of the aerodynamic performance and structural weight is different.

An extended numerical model of the first exothermic peak for three dimensional printed cement-based materials

The first exothermic peak of cement-based material occurs a few minutes after mixing,and the properties of three dimensional(3D)printed concrete,such as setting time,are very sensitive to *** this background,based on the classical Park cement exothermic model of hydration,we propose and construct a numerical model of the first exothermic peak,taking into account the proportions of c_(3)S,c_(3)A and quicklime in *** calculated parameters are calibrated by means of relevant published exothermic test *** is found that this developed model offers a good simulation of the first exothermic peak of hydration for c_(3)S and c_(3)A proportions from 0 to 100% of cement clinker and reflects the effect of quicklime content at 8%-10%.The unique value of this research is provision of an important computational tool for applications that are sensitive to the first exothermic peak of hydration,such as 3D printing.
