The shrinkage and chilling tendency of spheroidal graphite (abbreviated SG) cast iron is much greater than that of the flake graphite cast iron in spite of its higher amount of c and Si contents. Why? The main reason should be the difference in their graphitization during the eutectic solidification. In this paper, we discuss the difference in the solidification mechanism of both cast irons for solving these problems using unidirectional solidification and the cooling curves of the spheroidal graphite cast iron. The eutectic solidification rate of the SG cast iron is controlled by the diffusion of carbon through the austenite shell, and the final thickness is 1.4 times the radius of the SG, therefore, the reduction of the SG size, namely, the increase in the number, is the main solution of these problems.

Biliary tract cancers(BTcs)refer to invasive adenocarcinomas arising from the bile duct(intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma and extrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma)and gallbladder(gallbladder cancer).Patients with BTcs typically present at an advanced stage due to a lack of early detection methods and non-specific symptoms;systemic chemotherapy is the cornerstone of treatment for these advanced *** plus cisplatin(Gc)has been the standard treatment since the pivotal ABc-02 randomized phase 3 trial conducted in 2010(1).Moving beyond the era of Gc,several triplet combination regimens have been proposed in recent years(Table 1).The combination of nab-paclitaxel(nab-P)and Gc showed promising survival outcomes in a phase 2 trial(2),although it eventually failed to meet the primary endpoint of overall survival(OS)in a randomized phase 3 trial(3).Around the same time,TOPAZ-1(5)demonstrated that the programmed death ligand 1(PD-L1)inhibitor durvalumab combined with Gc significantly improved the median OS[11.5 vs.12.8 months;hazard ratio(HR),0.80;95%confidence interval(cI):0.66–0.97;P=0.021]and median progression-free survival(PFS)(5.7 vs.7.2 months;HR,0.75;95%cI:0.63–0.89;P=0.001),with an objective response rate(ORR)of 26.7%.Moreover,kEYNOTE-966(6)found that the addition of programmed death-1(PD-1)inhibitor pembrolizumab also improved median OS(10.9 vs.12.7 months;HR,0.83;95%cI:0.72–0.95;P=0.0034),whereas the median PFS only showed numerical improvements(5.6 vs.6.5 months;HR,0.86;95%cI:0.75–1.00;P=0.023),with an ORR of 29%.consequently,the combination of PD-1/PD-L1 inhibitors and Gc has become the new standard of care for first-line treatment of patients with BTcs,establishing the new era of triplet combinations.

AIM: To investigate the functional consequences of rs2736100 polymorphism in telomere length and examine its link to gastric cancer ***: Telomere length and human telomerase reverse transcriptase(h TERT) m RNA expression were measured in 35 gastric cancer tissues and 5 cell lines and correlated to rs2736100 polymorphism. The relationship between rs2736100 polymorphism and the risk of gastric cancer were examined in 243 gastric cancer patients and 246 healthy ***: The rs2736100 A allele carrier is closely associated with reduced h TERT m RNA expression and shortened telomere length in gastric cancer tissue and cell lines. When gastric cancers were stratified by histological subtype,telomere length and h TERT m RNA levels were significantly increased in those with the c/c genotype in intestinal-type gastric cancer,but not in diffuse-type gastric cancer. Interestingly,there was no significant difference in the genotype and allele frequencies of the rs2736100 polymorphism between the patients with gastric cancer and healthy ***: The rs2736100 polymorphism of the h TERT gene is involved in the regulation of h TERT expression and telomere length,but not in the risk of gastric cancer.

Aminoacyl-t RNA synthetases（Amino ARSs） are essential enzymes that perform the first step of protein synthesis. Beyond their original roles, Amino ARSs possess non-canonical functions, such as cell cycle regulation and signal transduction. Therefore, Amino ARSs represent a powerful pharmaceutical target if their non-canonical functions can be controlled. Using Amino ARSs-specific primers, we screened m RNA expression in the spinal cord dorsal horn of rats with peripheral nerve injury created by sciatic nerve axotomy. Of 20 Amino ARSs, we found that phenylalanyl-t RNA synthetase beta chain（FARSB）, isoleucyl-t RNA synthetase（IARS） and methionyl-t RNA synthetase（MARS） m RNA expression was increased in spinal dorsal horn neurons on the injured side, but not in glial cells. These findings suggest the possibility that FARSB, IARS and MARS, as a neurotransmitter, may transfer abnormal sensory signals after peripheral nerve damage and become a new target for drug treatment.

Sleep posture surveillance is crucial for patient comfort,yet current systems face difficulties in providing compre-hensive studies due to the obstruction caused by *** posture assessment remains challenging because of the complex nature of the human body and variations in sleep ***,this study introduces an innovative method utilizing RGB and thermal cameras for comprehensive posture classification,thereby enhancing the analysis of body position and *** method begins by capturing a dataset of sleep postures in the form of videos using RGB and thermal cameras,which depict six commonly adopted postures:supine,left log,right log,prone head,prone left,and prone *** study involves 10 participants under two conditions:with and without ***,the database is normalized into a video *** subsequent step entails training a fine-tuned,pretrained Visual Geometry Group(VGG16)and ResNet50 *** the third phase,the extracted features are utilized for *** fourth step of the proposed approach employs a serial fusion technique based on the normal distribution to merge the vectors derived from both the RGB and thermal ***,the fused vectors are passed to machine learning classifiers for final *** dataset,which includes human sleep postures used in this study’s experiments,achieved a 96.7%accuracy rate using the Quadratic Support Vector Machine(QSVM)without the ***,the Linear SVM,when utilized with a blanket,attained an accuracy of 96%.When normal distribution serial fusion was applied to the blanket features,it resulted in a remarkable average accuracy of 99%.

We focused on developing penetration-type semitransparent thin-film solar cells(STScs) using hydrogenated amorphous Si(a-Si:H) for a building-integrated photovoltaic(BIPV) window system. Instead of conventional p-type a-Si:H, p-type hydrogenated microcrystalline Si oxide(p-μc-SiOx:H) was introduced for a wide-bandgap and conductive window layer. For these purposes, we tuned the cO2/SiH4 flow ratio(R) during p-μc-SiOx:H deposition. The film crystallinity decreased from 50% to 13% as R increased from 0.2 to 1.2. At the optimized R of 0.6, the quantum efficiency was improved under short wavelengths by the suppression of p-type layer parasitic absorption. The series resistance was well controlled to avoid fill factor loss at R = 0.6. Furthermore, we introduced dual buffers comprising p-a-SiOx:H/i-a-Si:H at the p/i interface to alleviate interfacial energy-band mismatch. The a-Si:H STScs with the suggested window and dual buffers showed improvements in transmittance and efficiency from 22.9% to 29.3% and from 4.62% to 6.41%, respectively, compared to the STSc using a pristine p-a-Si:H window.

To understand the effects of the Yellow Sea cold Bottom Water （YScBW） on the diel vertical migration （D- VM） of the copepod calanus sinicus, we surveyed vertical distribution of c. sinicus at a fixed station in the Yellow Sea before （spring） and during （summer） formation of the YScBW. cold water （〈10℃） was observed in the bottom layer when the water column was thermally stratified in summer, but the water column was thermally well-mixed in spring 2010. Samples were collected from five different layers at 3-h intervals using an opening-closing net. Adult females （1-155 ind./m3） showed a clear normal DVM pattern throughout the entire water column in spring, whereas adult males did not migrate. DVM of copepodite V （cV） individuals was not clear, but the maximum abundance of cI-cIV occurred consistently in the upper 10-20 m layer, where there was a high concentration of chlorophyll-a （chl-a）（0.49-1.19μg/L）. In summer, weak DVM was limited to cold waters beneath the thermocline for adult females （〈30 ind./m3）, but not for adult males. The maximum abundance of cI-cIV also occurred consistently in the subsurface layer （20-40 m） together with high concentrations of chl-a （0.81-2.36 μg/L）. cV individuals （1-272 ind./m3） moved slightly upward noc- turnally to the near-surface layer （10-20 m）, where the average temperature was 25.74℃, but they were not found in the surface layer （0-10 m; 28.31℃）. These results indicate that the existence of the YSBcW affected food availability at depth and the vertical temperature distribution, leading to variation in the amplitude and shape of stage-specific vertical distributions （cI to adults） in c. sinicus before and during the formation of cold waters in the Yellow Sea during the study period.
