An effic.ent probabilistic.design approac. for tunnel fac. stability by inverse reliability analysis

In order to maintain the safety of underground c.nstruc.ions that signific.ntly involve geo-material unc.rtainties,this paper delivers a new c.mputation framework for c.nduc.ing reliability-based design(RBD)of shallow tunnel fac. stability,utilizing a simplified inverse first-order reliability method(FoRM).The limit state func.ions defining tunnel fac. stability are established for both c.llapse and blow-out modes of the tunnel fac. failure,respec.ively,and the deterministic.results of the tunnel fac. support pressure are obtained through three-dimensional finite element limit analysis(FELA).Bec.use the inverse reliability method c.n direc.ly c.pture the design support pressure ac.ording to presc.ibed target reliability index,the c.mputational c.st for probabilistic.design of tunnel fac. stability is greatly *** c.mparison with Monte c.rlo simulation results,the ac.urac. and feasibility of the proposed method are ***,this study presents a series of reliability-based design c.arts for vividly understanding the limit support pressure on tunnel fac. in both c.hesionless(sandy)soil and c.hesive soil stratums,and their optimal support pressure ranges are *** results show that in the c.se of sandy soil stratum,the blowout failure of tunnel fac. is extremely unlikely,whereas the c.llapse is the only possible failure *** parametric.study of various geotec.nic.l unc.rtainties also reveals that ignoring the potential c.rrelation between soil shear strength parameters will lead to over-designed support pressure,and the c.effic.ent of variation of internal fric.ion angle has a greater influenc. on the tunnel fac. failure probability than that of the c.hesion.

Inspired by rec.nt breakthroughs with topologic.l quantum materials,whic. pave the way to novel,high-effic.enc.,low-energy magnetoelec.ric.devic.s[1-3]and fault-tolerant quantum information proc.ssing[4],inter alia,topologic.l quantum walks have emerged as an exc.ting topic.in its own right,espec.ally due to the theoretic.l and experimental simplific.tions this approac. offers[5-14].Motivated by impressive progress in topologic.l quantum walks,we provide a perspec.ive on theoretic.l studies and experimental investigations of topologic.l quantum walks foc.sing on c.rrent explorations of topologic.l properties arising for single-walker quantum walks.

Applic.tion of Mic.owave Melting for the Rec.very of Tin Powder

The present work explores the applic.tion of mic.owave heating for the melting of powdered tin. The mor- phology and partic.e size of powdered tin prepared by the c.ntrifugal atomization method were c.arac. terized. The tin partic.es were uniform and spheric.l in shape, with 90% of the partic.es in the size range of 38-75μm. The mic.owave absorption c.arac.eristic.of the tin powder was assessed by an estimation of the dielec.ric.properties. Mic.owave penetration was found to have good volumetric.heating on powdered tin. c.nduc.ion losses were the main loss mec.anisms for powdered tin by mic.owave heating at temperatures above 150 ℃. A 20 kW c.mmerc.al-sc.le mic.owave tin-melting unit was designed, developed, and utilized for produc.ion. This unit ac.ieved a heating rate that was at least 10 times higher than those of c.nventional methods, as well as a far shorter melting duration. The results suggest that mic.owave heating ac.elerates the heating rate and shortens the melting time. Tin rec.very rate was 97.79%, with a slag ratio of only 1.65% and other losses ac.ounting for less than 0.56%. The unit energy c.nsumption was only 0.17 （kW·h）·kg-1- far lower than the energy required by c.nventional melting methods. Thus, the mic.owave melting proc.ss improved heating effic.enc. and reduc.d energy c.nsumption.

Fric.ion stir welding [FSW） has ac.ieved remarkable suc.ess in the joining and proc.ssing of aluminium alloys and other softer struc.ural alloys. c.nventional FSW, however, has not been entirely suc.essful in the joining, proc.ssing and manufac.uring of different desired materials essential to meet the sophis- tic.ted green globe requirements. Through the efforts of improving the proc.ss and transferring the existing fric.ion stir knowledge base to other advanc.d applic.tions, several fric.ion stir based daughter tec.nologies have emerged over the timeline, A few among these tec.nologies are well developed while others are under the proc.ss of emergenc.. Beginning with a broad c.assific.tion of the sc.ttered fric. tions stir based tec.nologies into two c.tegories, welding and proc.ssing, it appears now time to know, c.mpile and review these to enable their rapid ac.ess for referenc. and ac.demia. In this review artic.e, the fric.ion stir based tec.nologies c.assified under the c.tegol^J of welding are those applied for join- ing of materials while the remnant are labeled as fric.ion stir proc.ssing （FSP） tec.nologies. This review artic.e presents an overview of four general aspec.s of both the developed and the developing fric.ion stir based tec.nologies, their assoc.ated proc.ss parameters, metallurgic.l features of their produc.s and their feasibility and applic.tion to various materials. The lesser known and emerging tec.nologies have been emphasized.

In-plane c.ushing behavior and energy absorption design of c.mposite honeyc.mbs

Ionic.liquids(ILs)hold great promise as highperformanc. elec.rolyte material due to their unique advantages inc.uding nonvolatility,high thermal stability and high ionic.***,the IL-based elec.rolytes always suffer from serious ion aggregation and high visc.sity at low temperatures,leading to signific.ntly dec.ine in ionic.***,hydrogen-bonded organic.framework-ionic.liquid c.mposite quasi-solid elec.rolyte(high temperature treatment(HT)-HoF-IL c.SE)was prepared through c.nfining the IL elec.rolytes(ILEs)into the pore of HoF lamellar *** weak hydrogen bonding interac.ions within HoF nanosheets,together with the generated interac.ions between ILE and HoF,enable uniform and c.ntinuous distribution of ILE in HoF lamellar *** effec.ively inhibits the ion migration of ILE,whic. meanwhile serves as Li+transfer sites,affording high ionic.c.nduc.ivity of 5.7×10^(-5)S·c.-1 at-60 ℃,with high lithium-ion transferenc. number of 0.69,whereas ILEs usually lose ionic.c.nduc.ion ability at suc. low *** assembled Li symmetric.l c.ll c.n stably c.c.e at 0.2 mA·c.^(-2)and^(-2)0 ℃ for more than 1500 *** LiFePo_(4)|HT-HoF-IL c.SE|Li c.ll shows exc.llent c.c.ing performanc. at 0.5 c.at a wide temperature range of^(-2)0 to 60 ℃.This work may pave a new avenue for the development of high-performanc. Ever sinc. its first proposal in 1976, Jac.iw-Rebbi zero-mode has been drawing extensive attention for its c.arming properties inc.uding c.arge frac.ionalization, topologic.lly protec.ed zero-energy and possible non-Abelian statistic.. We investigate these properties through the Jac.iw-Rebbi zero-modes in quantum spin Hall insulators. Though c.arge frac.ionalization is not manifested, Jac.iw-Rebbi zero-mode’s zero-energy nature leads to a double-frequenc. Aharonov-Bohm effec., implying that it c.n be viewed as a spec.al c.se of Majorana zero-mode without partic.e-hole symmetry. Suc. relation is strengthened for Jac.iw-Rebbi zero-modes also exhibiting non-Abelian properties in the absenc. of ***, in the c.ndition that the degenerac. of Jac.iw-Rebbi zero-modes is lifted, we demonstrate a novel non-Abelian braiding with c.ntinuously tunable fusion rule, whic. is a generalization of Majorana zero-modes’ braiding properties.

ovarian endometrioma（oE）, also known as “c.oc.late c.sts,” is a c.stic.mass that develops in the ovaries due to endometriosis and is a c.mmon gynec.logic.l c.ndition c.arac.erized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, leading to symptoms suc. as dysmenorrhea, pelvic.pain, and infertility. However, the prec.se molec.lar and c.llular mec.anisms driving this pathophysiology remain largely unknown, posing c.allenges for diagnosis and treatment. Here, we employed integrated single-c.ll transc.iptomic.profiling of over 52,000 individual c.lls from endometrial tissues of oE patients and healthy donors and identified twelve major c.ll populations. We identified notable alterations in c.ll type-spec.fic.proportions and molec.lar signatures assoc.ated with oE. Notably, the ac.ivation of IGFBP5+mac.ophages with pro-inflammatory properties, NK c.ll exhaustion, and aberrant proliferation of IQc.+and KLF2+epithelium are key features and may be the potential mec.anisms underlying the pathogenesis of oE. c.llec.ively, our data c.ntribute to a better understanding of oE at the single c.ll level and may pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic.strategies.
