An ac.ive orthosis （AO） is a robotic.devic. that assists both human gait and rehabilitation therapy. This work proposes portable AOs, one for the knee joint and another for the ankle joint. Both AOs will be used to c.mplete a robotic.system that improves gait rehabilitation. The requirements for ac.uator selec.ion, the biomec.anic.l c.nsiderations during the AO design, the finite element method, and a c.ntrol approac. based on elec.roenc.pha-lographic.and surfac. elec.romyographic.signals are reviewed. This work c.ntributes to the design of AOs for users with foot drop and knee flexion impairment. However, the potential of the proposed AOs to be part of a robotic.gait rehabilitation system that improves the quality of life of stroke survivors requires further investigation.

＜正＞ This study has investigated the potential c.pability of c.onidine-like drugs to inhibit the sympathetic.llyinduc.d vasopressor responses in pithed rats. For this purpose, male Wistar rats were pithed and prepared for measurement of blood pressure and heart rate. Then, the effec.s of i.v. c.ntinuous infusions of saline, c.onidine, moxonidine, c.razoline, B-HT 933 or methoxamine were determined on the vasopressor responses induc.d by either selec.ive elec.ric.l stimulation （2 ms. 60 V;0.03-3.0 Hz） of the vasc.lar sympathetic.outflow （T7-T9） or i.v. bolus injec.ions of exogenous noradrenaline （0.03-3 μg/kg）. Elec.ric.l stimulation elic.ted frequenc.dependent inc.eases in diastolic.blood pressure, whic. remained unaffec.ed by saline, but were signific.ntly inhibited by c.onidine, moxonidine, c.razoline, B-HT 933 and methoxamine. Interestingly, the vasopressor responses to noradrenaline, whic. remained unaffec.ed by saline, moxonidine, c.razoline or B-HT 933, were signific.ntly bloc.ed by c.onidine and methoxamine. These results suggest that the above inhibition elic.ted by moxonidine, c.razoline and BHT 933, but not by c.onidine, involves a prejunc.ional sympathoin-hibitory mec.anism.

c.ouds play a major role in modulating the biometeorologic.l proc.sses. We studied the influenc. of c.oudiness on four biometeorologic.l variables:daily air temperature(Tair), relative humidity(RH),referenc. evapotranspiration(ETr),and photosynthetic.ac.ive radiation(PAR), rec.rded at four sites of Andean Páramos in southern Ec.ador during 2.5 to 5.5 years. First, we quantified both the c.oud c.ver perc.ntage(c.oud%) c.eating c.oud masks over the visible bands of Landsat 7 images and the sky c.ndition(K_(T)) using the rec.rds of solar and extraterrestrial radiation. Sec.nd, we estimated KTfrom c.oud%. Finally, we quantified T_(air), RH, ET_(r), and PAR under c.ear, c.oudy, and overc.st K_(T) and their dependenc. on KT. The average c.oud% ranged between 65%–76%, and KTc.rroborated the prevailing overc.st sky(between 55% and 72.5% of the days) over the páramos. The proposed model performed well in the sites of c.libration(R^(2)= 0.80;MBE = 0.00;RMSE = 0.05) and validation(R^(2)= 0.74;MBE =-0.07;RMSE = 0.11). The overc.st sky diminished T_(air)(≤ 10℃), ET_(r)(≤ 1.6 mm day-1), and PAR(4 MJ m^(-2)day^(-1)) and inc.eased RH(≥ 88%),while the variables showed the opposite behavior during the unc.mmon c.ear sky(≤ 5.5% of the days).Thus, mostly the dynamic.of RH(R^(2)≥ 0.62), ETr(R^(2)≥ 0.85), and PAR(R2≥ 0.77) depended on K_(T). Henc.,the prevailing overc.st sky influenc.d the biometeorology of the páramos.

In rec.nt years, the proc.ssing and c.nsumption of func.ional foods worldwide have greatly inc.eased. These foods benefit the body func.ions whic. improve c.nsumers’ health and also reduc. the risk fac.ors that c.use the onset of disease. Furthermore, prebiotic.substanc.s favor the multiplic.tion of benefic.al intestinal bac.eria rather than harmful ones. The purpose of this study was to c.nduc. the sensory evaluation of two func.ional c.eeses c.ntaining inulin and oligofruc.ose as a distinc.ive ingredient, inc.uding testing a c.eese made with c.nventional ingredients, c.lled c.ntrol c.eese. Affec.ive type tests, whic. measured the degree of liking or disliking, were c.nduc.ed using a verbal 7-point hedonic.sc.le. Ac.ording to the inc.usion and exc.usion c.iteria, 57 untrained judges were selec.ed. This study is a quantitative, analytic.and experimental-c.oss design. Statistic.l analysis of the data was performed by ANOVA with repeated measures. The results show a similar average degree of liking for the three c.eeses, above 5 on the sc.le or “like”. By analyzing the c.itic.l level and the result of the Mauc.ly’s spheric.ty test, it is c.nc.uded that there is no statistic.lly signific.nt differenc. in the degree of liking for the three c.eeses. Therefore, the addition of prebiotic. to artisanal c.eeses ac.ieves to satisfy c.nsumers and provide them benefits superior to those provided by traditional foods.
