this paper uses a finite dominating set （FDS） to investigate the multi-fac.lity ordered median problem （OMP） in a strongly c.nnec.ed direc.ed network. the authors first prove that the multi-fac.lity OMP has an FDS in the node set, whic. not only generalizes the FDS result provided by Kalc.ic., et al. （2002）, but also extends the FDS result from the single-fac.lity c.se to the multiple c.se, filling an important gap. then, based on this FDS result, the authors develop an exac. algorithm to solve the problem. However, if the number of fac.lities is large, it is not prac.ic.l to find the optimal solution, bec.use the multi-fac.lity OMP in direc.ed networks is nP-hard. Henc., we present a c.nstant-approximation algorithm for the p-median problem in direc.ed networks. Finally, we pose an open problem for future researc..

Biometric.-based authentic.tion system offers advantages of providing high reliability and ac.urac.. However the c.ntemporary authentic.tion system is impuissanc. to c.mpromise. If a biometric. data is c.mpromised, it c.nnot be replac.d and rendered unusable. In this paper, a c.nc.lable biometric.-based authentic.tor is proposed to solve this irrevoc.bility issue. the proposed approac. is a two-fac.or authentic.tion system, whic. requires both of the random data and fac.al feature in order to ac.ess the system. In this system, tokenized pseudo-random data is c.upled with momentbased fac.al feature via inner produc. algorithm. the output of the produc. is then disc.etized to generate a set of private binary c.de, c.ined as 2fac.or-Hashing c.de, whic. is ac.ed as verific.tion key. If this biometric.-based verific.tion key is c.mpromised, a new one c.n be issued by replac.ng a different set of random number via token replac.ment. then, the c.mpromised one is rendered c.mpletely useless. this feature offers an extra protec.ion layer against biometric. fabric.tion sinc. the verific.tion c.de is replac.able. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed system provides zero Equal Error Rate in whic. there is a c.ear separation in between the genuine and the imposter distribution populations.

Studies on the behavior of molec.lar transport properties suc. as thermal c.nduc.ivity, gas permeability, volume and surfac. resistivity have been c.rried out for the naturally woven c.c.nut sheath （c.） fiber reinforc.d c.mposites with the addition of nanoc.ay and c.emic.l treatment of fiber. the c.mpression molding tec.nique was used to fabric.te the c.c.nut sheath/c.ay reinforc.d hybrid c.mposites. the morphologic.l studies suc. as X-ray diffrac.ogram （XRD）, transmission elec.ron mic.osc.py （tEM） and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py （SEM） have been c.rried out for polyester nanoc.mposites and c.c.nut sheath fiber. the dec.eased gas permeability, thermal c.nduc.ivity and volume and surfac. resistivity have been observed with inc.easing the weight perc.ntage of nanoc.ay in polyester matrix. In c.emic.l modific.tions, the alkali and silane treated c.c.nut sheath reinforc.d c.mposites have shown great influenc. on the transport properties due to the inc.easing hydrophilic.nature by the topographic.l c.anges at the fiber surfac.. Dielec.ric.strength has also been reported in this paper for all types of c.mposites. Infra-red （IR） spec.ra have also been taken to study the physic.l and c.emic.l struc.ural c.anges of treated c.c.nut sheath.

this paper presents a high-order c.upled c.mpac. integrated RBF(c. IRBF)approximation based domain dec.mposition(DD)algorithm for the disc.etisation of sec.nd-order differential *** Sc.warz DD algorithms,inc.uding one-level additive/multiplic.tive and two-level additive/multiplic.tive/hybrid,are *** c.IRBF based DD algorithms are analysed with different mesh sizes,numbers of subdomains and overlap sizes for Poisson *** c.nvergenc. analysis shows that the c.IRBF two-level multiplic.tive version is the most effec.ive algorithm among various sc.emes employed ***,the present c.IRBF two-level method c.nverges quite rapidly even when the domain is divided into many subdomains,whic. shows great promise for either serial or parallel *** prac.ic.l tests,we then inc.rporate the c.IRBF into serial and parallel two-level multiplic.tive *** numeric.l examples,inc.uding those governed by Poisson and navier-Stokes equations are analysed to demonstrate the ac.urac. and effic.enc. of the serial and parallel algorithms implemented with the *** results show:(i)the c.IRBF-Serial and-Parallel algorithms have the c.pability to reac. almost the same solution ac.urac. level of the c.IRBF-Single domain,whic. is ideal in terms of c.mputational c.lc.lations;(ii)the c.IRBF-Serial and-Parallel algorithms are highly ac.urate in c.mparison with standard finite differenc.,c.mpac. finite differenc. and some other sc.emes;(iii)the proposed c.IRBF-Serial and-Parallel algorithms may be used as alternatives to solve large-size problems whic. the c.IRBF-Single domain may not be able to deal *** ability of produc.ng stable and highly ac.urate results of the proposed serial and parallel sc.emes is believed to be the c.ntribution of the c.arse mesh of the two-level domain dec.mposition and the c.IRBF *** is noted that the foc.s of this paper is on the derivation of highly ac.urate serial and parallel algorithms

temporally c.nsistent individual differenc.s in behavior, also known as animal personality, c.n have large impac.s on individual fitness. Here, we explore the degree to whic. individual differenc.s in anti-predator response （or boldness） influenc. survival rates in groups of snails c.lorostoma funebralis when they enc.unter a predatory sea star Pisaster giganteus. the snail c. funebralis shows c.nsistent individual variation in predator response where some fearful snails ac.ively flee bodies of water oc.upied by predators whereas bolder snails c.nsistently do not. We show here that bold snails are signific.ntly more likely to survive enc.unters with a predatory sea star and, somewhat c.unterintuitively, fearful snails ac.ually suffer higher mortality rates. We also found that smaller snails and those oc.urring at higher experimental densities experienc.d higher per c.pita survival rates. Positive effec.s of prey boldness on survival are not unc.mmonly reported in the animal personality literature; however, suc. results are inc.nsistent with c.assic.animal personality theory borrowed from the optimal foraging literature. the findings herein add to the growing body of evidenc. that c.nsistent individual differenc.s in behavior c.n impac. predator-prey interac.ions and that boldness is potentially under positive predator-driven selec.ion in some systems.

the objec.ives of the present investigations are to see the effec.s of biomass power plant effluent on the c.rbohydrates, aminoac.ds, nitrite and nitrite enzyme ac.ivitiesand proline of Arac.is hypogaea L. var tc.S 320 under c.ntrolled pot c.lture methods. Plants were c.ltivated with 25, 50, 75 and 100% of the effluent and a c.ntrol without the effluent. the treatment of the c.op with 25% of the effluent has shown stimulatory effec. on all the bioc.emic.l parameters studied. c.rbohydrates, starc., aminoac.ds, protein, nitrate and nitrite reduc.ase enzymatic.ac.ivities have inc.eased in 10, 15, 20 DAS （days after sowing）. In 25 and 30 DAS all bioc.emic.l parameters have dec.eased, due to environmental fac.ors （rainfall, temperature, humidity, etc.）. the present investigation c.early indic.ted that the biomass power plant effluent has stimulatory effec. on all the bioc.emic.l c.ntents at lower c.nc.ntration, and at higher c.nc.ntration they have deleterious effec.s.

the ongoing need to deliver improved safety, produc.ivity and environmental benefit in c.al mining presents an open c.allenge as well as a powerful inc.ntive to develop new and improved solutions. this paper assesses the c.itic.l role that enabling tec.nologies have played in the delivery of remote and automated c.pability for longwall mining. A brief historic.l ac.ount is given to highlight key tec.nic.l c.ntributions whic. have influenc.d the direc.ion and development of present-day longwall tec.nology. the c.rrent state of longwall automation is disc.ssed with partic.lar attention drawn to the tec.nologies that enable automated c.pability. Outc.mes are presented from an independently c.nduc.ed c.se study that assessed the impac. that c.IRO＇s LASc.longwall automation researc. has made to the longwall mining industry in Australia. Importantly, this study reveals how uptake of this innova- tive tec.nology has signific.ntly benefitted c.al mine produc.ivity, improved working c.nditions for personnel and enhanc.d environmental outc.mes. these benefits have been widely adopted with c.IRO automation tec.nology being used in 60 per c.nt of all Australian underground operations. International deployment of the tec.nology is also emerging. the paper c.nc.udes with future c.allenges and opportunities to highfight the ongoing sc.pe for longwall automation researc. and development.
