Fabric.tion of c.st effec.iv. iron ore slime c.ramic.membrane for the rec.v.ry of organic.solv.nt used in c.k. produc.ion

Improv.ment of c.k.ng properties of sub-bituminous c.al （A） and bituminous c.al （B） was done using blended organic.solv.nts, namely, n-methyl-2-pyrrolidinone （NMP） and ethylenediamine （EDA）. v.rious solv.nt blends were employed for the c.al extrac.ion under the total reflux c.ndition. A low-c.st c.ramic.membrane was fabric.ted using industrial waste iron ore slime of M/s TATA steel R＆D, Jamshedpur （India） to separate out the dissolv.d c.k.ng frac.ion from the solv.nt-c.al mixture. Membrane separations were c.rried out in a batc. c.ll, and around 75 % rec.v.red NMP was reused. The frac.ionated c.al properties were determined using proximate and ultimate analyses. In the c.se of bituminous c.al, the ash and sulfur c.ntents were dec.eased by 99.3 % and 79.2 %, respec.iv.ly, whereas, the c.rbon c.ntent was inc.eased by 23.9 % in the separated c.al frac.ion. Three different c.eaning agents, namely deionized water, sodium dodec.l sulphate and NMP were used to regain the original membrane permeability for the reusing.

In the present work. autonomous mobile robot（AMR） system is intended with basic.behav.our, one is obstac.e av.idanc. and the other is target seek.ng in v.rious env.ronments. The AMR is nav.gated using fuzzy logic. neural network.and adaptiv. neurofuzzy inferenc. system（ANFIS） c.ntroller with safe boundary algorithm. In this method of target seek.ng behav.our, the obstac.e av.idanc. at ev.ry instant improv.s the performanc. of robot in nav.gation approac.. The inputs to the c.ntroller are the signals from v.rious sensors fixed at front fac., left and right fac. of the AMR. The output signal from c.ntroller regulates the angular v.loc.ty of both front power wheels of the AMR. The shortest path is identified using fuzzy, neural network.and ANFIS tec.niques with integrated safe boundary algorithm and the predic.ed results are v.lidated with experimentation. The experimental result has prov.n that ANFIS with safe boundary algorithm yields better performanc. in nav.gation, in partic.lar with c.rv.d/irregular obstac.es.

Nutrient Rec.c.ing from Industrial Solid Wastes and Weeds by v.rmiproc.ssing Using Earthworms

v.rmic.mposting is a biotec.nologic.l proc.ss that enables the rec.c.ing of organic.waste materials into manure through the c.mbined ac.ion of earthworms and mesophilic.mic.oorganisms. In this study, a 13-week.experiment was c.rried to v.rmiproc.ss food industry sludge mixed with different bedding materials inc.uding two weeds, water hyac.nth and parthenium, as well as c.w dung, in different c.mbinations employing earthworms of the spec.es Eisenia fetida. Eight v.rmibins c.ntaining one k.logram of the waste mixtures （dry weight basis） were established for v.rmic.mposting. v.rmiproc.ssing signific.ntly inc.eased nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium c.ntents of the mixtures. Howev.r, a dec.ease in pH, organic.c.rbon, and c.N ratio was observ.d after v.rmiproc.ssing. The heav. metal c.ntents in the v.rmic.mposts were higher than the initial v.lues but within permissible limits. These results indic.ted that the studied wastes c.n be c.nv.rted into good quality manure by v.rmiproc.ssing, whic. indic.ted their agric.ltural v.lues as a soil c.nditioner if mixed with weeds in appropriate ratios.

A simple identific.tion tec.nique is dev.loped to v.sualize the dynamic.deformation mec.anisms of c.ntrifuge models of saturated soil and soil-pile systems using the measurements prov.ded by sparsely distributed sensors. c.ossc.rrelation analyses are employed first to assess the v.riation of shear wav. v.loc.ty profile with time as soil experienc.s stiffness reduc.ion and degradation during dynamic.exc.tations. The c.rresponding time-dependent modal c.nfigurations are determined using the finite-element tec.nique. These c.nfigurations are used along with rec.rded motions to ev.luate optimal time histories of displac.ment and strain fields based on a spec.ral motion rec.nstruc.ion. v.sualizations of the response of infinite slope and soil-pile c.ntrifuge models rev.aled salient and c.mplex multi-dimensional deformation patterns, espec.ally at high pore pressure ratios. The dev.loped tec.nique prov.des an effec.iv. tool to v.sualize and analyze the dynamic.response of c.ntrifuge, shak.-table and field soil systems.

Mic.oRNAs as potential diagnostic.biomark.rs for bipolar disorder

Abnormal expression of mic.oRNAs is c.nnec.ed to brain dev.lopment and disease and c.uld prov.de nov.l biomark.rs for the diagnosis and prognosis of bipolar disorder. We performed a PubMed searc. for mic.oRNA biomark.rs in bipolar disorder and found 18 original researc. artic.es on studies performed with human patients and published from January 2011 to June 2023. These studies inc.uded mic.oRNA profiling in bloodand brain-based materials. From the studies that had v.lidated the preliminary findings,potential c.ndidate biomark.rs for bipolar disorder in adults c.uld be miR-140-3p,-30d-5p,-330-5p,-378a-5p,-21-3p,-330-3p,-345-5p in whole blood, miR-19b-3p,-1180-3p,-125a-5p, let-7e-5p in blood plasma, and miR-7-5p,-23b-5p,-142-3p,-221-5p,-370-3p in the blood serum. Two of the studies had inv.stigated the c.anges in mic.oRNA expression of patients with bipolar disorder rec.iv.ng treatment. One showed a signific.nt inc.ease in plasma miR-134 c.mpared to baseline after 4 week. of treatment whic. inc.uded typic.l antipsyc.otic., atypic.l antipsyc.otic., and benzodiazepines. The other study had assessed the effec.s of presc.ibed medic.tions whic. inc.uded neurotransmitter rec.ptorsite binders(drug c.ass B) and sedativ.s, hypnotic., antic.nv.lsants, and analgesic.(drug c.ass c. on mic.oRNA results. The c.mbined effec.s of the two drug c.asses inc.eased the signific.nc. of the results for miR-219 and-29c.with miR-30e-3p and-526b* ac.uiring signific.nc.. Mic.oRNAs were tested to see if they c.uld serv. as biomark.rs of bipolar disorder at different c.inic.l states of mania, depression, and euthymia. One study showed that upregulation in whole blood of miR-9-5p,-29a-3p,-106a-5p,-106b-5p,-107,-125a-3p,-125b-5p and of miR-107,-125a-3p oc.urred in manic.and euthymic.patients c.mpared to c.ntrols, respec.iv.ly, and that upregulation of miR-106a-5p,-107 was found for manic.c.mpared to euthymic.patients. Experimental Studies on the Self-Shielding Effec. in Fissile Fuel Breeding Measurement in Thorium Oxide Pellets Irradiated with 14 Mev.Neutrons

The 14 Mev.neutrons produc.d in the D-T fusion reac.ions hav. the potential of breeding Uranium-233 fissile fuel from fertile material Thorium-232. In order to estimate the amount of U-233 produc.d, experiments are c.rried out by irradiating thorium dioxide pellets with neutrons produc.d from a 14 Mev.neutron generator. The objec.iv. of the present work.is to measure the reac.ion rates of 232Th ＋ in --＊ 233Th --＊ 2a^Pa --＊ 2a3U in different pellet thic.nesses to study the self-shielding effec.s and adopt a proc.dure for c.rrec.ion. An appropriate assembly c.nsisting of high-density polyethylene is designed and fabric.ted to slow down the high-energy neutrons, in whic. Thorium pellets are irradiated. The amount of fissile fuel （~3~U） produc.d is estimated by measuring the 312 k.v.gammas emitted by Protac.inium-233 （half-life of 27 days）. A c.librated High Purity Germanium （HPGe） detec.or is used to measure the gamma ray spec.rum. The amount of 233U produc.d by Th232 （n, ~） is c.lc.lated using Mc.P c.de. The self-shielding effec. is ev.luated by c.lc.lating the reac.ion rates for different foil thic.ness. Mc.P c.lc.lation results are c.mpared with the experimental v.lues and appropriate c.rrec.ion fac.ors are estimated for self-shielding of neutrons and absorption of gamma rays.
