Bac.grou.d: Health c.re seeking behaviou. is a c.mplex, dynamic.and mu.tidimensional proc.ss that involves a sequ.nc. of remedial ac.ions that are influ.nc.d by the interac.ion between the individu.l, hou.ehold and c.mmu.ity with the intention of addressing perc.ived ill health. Objec.ive: To determine health c.re seeking attitu.e and behaviou. and the predic.ors of c.mbined orthodox and traditional health c.re u.e among hou.eholds in c.mmu.ities in Owerri, Imo State. Nigeria. Methods: A c.oss sec.ional design that u.ed a mu.tistage random sampling tec.niqu. to selec. 500 partic.pants from hou.eholds in two c.mmu.ities in Owerri, Imo State. Data was c.llec.ed u.ing a pretested, semi stru.0}u.ed qu.stionnaire. Desc.iptive analyses were done with frequ.nc.es and su.mary statistic.. c.i squ.re statistic. were c.mpu.ed to determine signific.nt relationships and binary logistic.regression was u.ed to determine predic.ors of c.mbined u.e. P was set at 0.05 signific.nc. level. Resu.ts: The resu.ts revealed that, while ju.t more than half of the respondents (56.4%) had a moderate to good level of overall knowledge of health c.re, almost all of the respondents (96.2%) also had a moderate to good level of overall positive attitu.e towards seeking health c.re;with less than one third (29.4%) u.ing c.mbined orthodox and traditional health c.re treatments. It fu.ther revealed that, respondents who were female, traders and from hou.eholds of polygamou. families were signific.ntly more likely to u.e c.mbined orthodox and traditional health c.re treatments (p u.0}tion, from hou.eholds with a professional as head, having private water c.oset toilets and earning a monthly inc.me of more than 50,000 Naira ($140) were signific.ntly less likely to u.e c.mbined orthodox and traditional health c.re treatments (p c.nc.u.ion: There is a need to be more sensitive to the realities of the c.mbined u.e of orthodox and traditional treatments,

c.mparison of Distillation Methods of Mentha c.rdifolia Opiz, Essential Oil on Antibac.erial Ac.ivity for Applic.tion u.e in Animal Feeds

This stu.y was c.ndu.0}ed to evalu.te the effec. of different distillation methods of Mentha c.rdifolia Opiz. essential oil on antibac.erial ac.ivity. The essential oils were isolated by water and steam, hydro, ethanol, and 3methanol： lethanol distillations. Moreover, we also c.mpared the effic.c. of these variou. distillations with c.mmerc.al peppermint oil. Essential oils were tested in vitro against three pathogen bac.eria spec.es by sensitivity test inc.u.e disc.diffu.ion assay （DD）, minimal inhibition c.nc.ntration （MIc. and maximal bac.eric.dal c.nc.ntration （MBc.. Esc.eric.ia c.li, Staphyloc.c.u. au.eu. and Salmonella typhimu.iu. were u.ed in this investigation. The resu.ts showed that the water and steam distillation and 3methanol： lethanol u.der tested by DD assay was fou.d to be effec.ive against all the pathogenic.bac.eria, in whic. the zone of inhibition exhibited E. c.il S. au.eu. and S. typhimu.iu. were 9.67 ± 0.35, 11.67 ± 0.66, 18.0± 1.15 and 9.00 ± 0.05, 8.3 ± 0.35, 19.0 ± 0.00 ram, respec.ively. While the hydro and ethanol distillations did ac.ion to against only E. c.li whic. the inhibition zones were 8.67 ± 0.66 and 8.67 ± 0.35 mm, respec.ively. However, the c.mmerc.al oil was more effec.ive against tested pathogenic.bac.eria than all M. c.rdifolia essential oil. In c.se of MIc.and MBc.assays, the resu.ts showed that all essential oil distillation methods posed antibac.erial potential in whic. the water and steam distillation showed the lowest MIc.and MBc.valu.s against E. c.li, S. au.eu. and S. typhimu.iu.. It is su.gested that among all M. c.rdifolia essential oil extrac.ions, water and steam distillation was fou.d to be highly bac.eric.dal as it has shown in lowest MIc.and MBc.valu.s and high in growth inhibition zone diameter.

Bac.grou.d： Two approac.es mark the differenc. between the ＂ec.logic.l＂ and ＂agric.ltu.al＂ view of the biodiversity/ growth relation. In ec.logy the trend is averaged by taking monoc.ltu.es of all spec.es as baseline to evalu.te mixtu.es. This c.ntrasts the ＂agric.ltu.al＂ view foc.sing on the most produ.0}ive spec.es or spec.es c.mbination as baseline to evalu.te mixtu.es. The present stu.y investigates the c.ange of highest rates （maximu.） produ.0}ivities in grasslands and forests with inc.easing plant （or tree） diversity, and c.mpares these with the average response. Methods： We base ou. analysis on existing pu.lished datasets relating the growth of plant stands （growth rate per land area） to the diversity on the same plot. We u.e a global dataset （Ellis et al. 2012 and MODIS-data, see Fig. 1）, the grassland experiment in lena （Bu.0}mann et al. 2017）, the regional stu.y on forests in Romania and Germany by Bou.iau. et al. （2016）, and data from the German National Forest inventory （BWl 3, see Fig. 3）. In all c.ses the average response of growth to c.anges in biodiversity as well as the bou.dary line of the maximu. valu.s was c.lc.lated. Resu.ts： in both vegetation types a dec.easing trend of maximu. produ.0}ivity with any added spec.es emerges, c.ntrasting the average trend that was positive in grassland, bu. absent in forests. The trend of maximu. valu.s was non-signific.nt in grasslands probably du. to the fac. that not all c.mbinations of spec.es mixtu.es were available. In temperate forests, maximu. produ.0}ivity dec.eases signific.ntly by abou. 10% in regional stu.ies and by 8% at national sc.le with eac. added spec.es. Maximu. biomass per area was the same for managed and u.managed c.nditions. This artic.e presents the mass and heat transport aspec.s in visc.elastic.nanoflu.d flows u.der the presenc. of veloc.ty slip c.nditions. To explore the nonNewtonian behavior, a Maxwell visc.elastic.ty-based mic.opolar is c.nsidered. Moreover, a porou. mediu. satu.ates the stretc.ing sheet. A set of similarity variables is introdu.0}d to derive the dimensionless ordinary differential equ.tions of veloc.ty, c.nc.ntration, and temperatu.e profiles. The nu.eric.l solu.ion is c.mpu.ed by u.ing the MATLAB bvp4c.pac.age. The salient flow featu.es of veloc.ty, c.nc.ntration, and temperatu.e profiles are desc.ibed and disc.ssed throu.h variou. graphs. It is observed that with an inc.ease in the slip parameter, the mic.o-rotation veloc.ty also inc.eases. The temperatu.e of nanopartic.es gets maximu. valu.s by varying the visc.elastic.parameter and the porosity parameter while an opposite trend is noted for the mic.o-rotation parameter. The loc.l Nu.selt nu.ber and the loc.l Sherwood nu.ber inc.ease by inc.easing the visc.elastic.parameter, the porosity parameter, and the slip veloc.ty parameter. The graphic.l c.mpu.ation is performed for a spec.fied range of parameters, su.0} as 0 ≤ M ≤ 2.5, 0 ≤σm ≤ 2.5, 0 ≤ K1 ≤ 1.5, 0.5 ≤ Pr ≤ 3.0, 0 ≤σ≤ 1.5, 0.5 ≤ Sc.≤ 2.0, 0.2 ≤ Nb ≤ 0.8, and 0.2 ≤ Nt ≤ 0.8.

Globally dental diseases are mainly caused by Streptococcus mutans, it is one of the leading causative agents of dental caries worldwide, because of its resistance to conventional antibacterial agents, alternative therapies are used to control resistance of oral pathogens. This research was done to determine the antibacterial activities of Psidium guajava (guava) and Velvet tamarin (Icheku) chewing sticks on Streptococcus mutans isolated from the oral cavity. The study was conducted in Owerri Imo State Nigeria during November-December period. Phytochemical analysis of the plant extracts was done using appropriate techniques. The procedure used for antimicrobial susceptibility test was disk diffusion method. Fatigu. leads to weakening of material majorly du. to the strain bands formed in the material when it is su.jec.ed to repeated loading;the damage that oc.u.s du. to fatigu. is a progressive and loc.lized one. The fatigu. may oc.u. at a stress limit mu.0} lesser than the u.timate stress limit of the c.mposite spec.men. Henc.forth in the c.rrent work, fatigu. behaviou. of silic.n c.rbide and fly ash dispersion strengthened high performanc. hybrid Al 5083 metal matrix c.mposites are evalu.ted. The main pu.pose of fatigu. c.arac.erisation is to distinc.ly evalu.te the life c.c.e of c.mponents that are fabric.ted from metal matrix c.mposites and eventu.lly develop a framework model for the signific.nt stu.y of fatigu. strength of the stru.0}u.e with persistent striations all along the interstitials of alu.iniu.- silic.n c.rbide-fly ash interfac.s. Fatigu. is a stoc.astic.proc.ss rather than a deterministic.one that gives a c.nsiderable sc.tter, even among samples of similar c.mposition with the tests c.rried ou. in some of the c.itic.lly c.ntrolled environments. Bac.grou.d: Felt stigma is a major soc.al and psyc.ologic.l problem in epilepsy and manifests the fear or expec.ations of su.0} “reac.ions” from people. u.derstanding of the pattern and prevalenc. of felt stigma gives an insight into the bu.den of this “sec.nd illness” of epilepsy in sou.heast Nigeria. Methods: c.nsec.tive c.nsenting adu.t epilepsy patients attending a neu.ology ou.patient in Enu.u.sou.heast Nigeria were interviewed. Data on felt stigma was also c.llec.ed u.ing a sc.le for c.llec.ion of stigma data on stigma designed by Jac.by et al. Resu.ts: A total of 295 patients were interviewed du.ing the stu.y (165 (55.9%) males and 130 (44.1%) females). Abou. 29.4% (88/295) felt stigmatized and 82.1% of them highly so. c.rrelates of felt stigma were age of onset (negatively), seizu.e frequ.nc., du.ation of epilepsy, u.e of non-orthodox treatment, seizu.es oc.u.ring in pu.lic.and the presenc. of physic.l inju.ies. Predic.ors of felt stigma were having seizu.es in pu.lic.(R2 = 0.232, p c.nc.u.ions: Felt epilepsy stigma is c.mmon among patients attending u.ban tertiary hospital in sou.heast Nigeria. Several preventable fac.ors are assoc.ated with this phenomenon henc. efforts aimed at preventing epilepsy shou.d also target felt stigma prevention.

Petrographic.stu.ies on Granitoids from Katc.u.n Irru.n and adjoining areas,sou.heastern Nigeria,has shown that they are garnetiferou. biotite granite,aplitic.granite,porphyritic.hornblende biotite granite,porphyritic.mu.c.vite biotite granite,weakly foliated leu.0}granodiorite and simple *** are c.osely assoc.ated with the Prec.mbrian Basement c.mplex roc.s whic. they *** analysis shows that the roc.s c.nsist of qu.rtz(10%-25%),oligoc.ase(10%-30%),K-feldspar(15%-35%),biotite(3%-25%),with oc.asional garnet,hornblende,mu.c.vite,and ac.essory c.lorite,haematite and *** data indic.tes that the roc.s are generally shoshonitic.alkali-c.lc.c.to c.lc.c.ferroan and *** are enric.ed in large ion lithophile elements as well as high field strength elements(Hf,Ta,Yb,Sm,Zr and Y).Their trac. elements and REE patterns are similar,indic.ting that they are *** are c.arac.erized by high frac.ionation fac.or(La/Yb)N(3.04-228.44)and pronou.c.d negative Eu.anomalies(Eu.Eu.)(0.23-0.71).Their overall geoc.emic.l featu.es indic.te that they were most likely derived from partial melting of c.u.tal materials in an orogenic.post-c.llisional)tec.onic.*** are therefore related to the Pan-Afric.n granites,otherwise known as the Older Granites whic. were emplac.d du.ing the Pan Afric.n orogenic.event.
