(AHP) are integrated in order to elic.t preferenc. information from experts.regarding dec.s.on makers.(DMs. involved in a regulatory c.nflic.. More prec.s.ly, Ds. is.us.d for c.mbining expert knowledge regarding preferenc.s.of a s.ec.fic.DM (the regulatory body), and AHP is.employed for ranking feas.ble s.ates.in the c.nflic. for this.s.me DM. In order to illus.rate how this.preferenc. elic.tation propos.l c.n be c.nveniently implemented in prac.ic. within the Graph Model for c.nflic. Res.lution (GMc.), it is.applied to a real c.ns.ruc.ion dis.ute loc.ted in the c.ty of Ipojuc., Brazil. The c.nflic. is.modeled with three DMs. s.pport, oppos.tion, and the regulatory body. Res.lts.s.ow that the new preferenc. methodology pos.es.es.many inherent advantages.inc.uding high flexibility the ability to c.pture unc.rtainty or even ignoranc. about preferenc.s. the pos.ibility of c.mbining expert knowledge with res.ec. to mis.ing preferenc.s. and a s.bs.antial reduc.ion in the number of pairwis. c.mparis.ns.of s.ates.required to expres. preferenc. information.

This.s.udy inves.igated the ac.te effec.s.of green tea extrac. （GTE） and its.polyphenol c.ns.ituents. （-）-epigalloc.tec.in-3-gallate （EGc.） and （-）-epic.tec.in （Ec., on bas.l and s.imulated tes.os.erone produc.ion by rat Leydig c.lls.in vitro. Leydig c.lls.purified in a Perc.ll gradient were inc.bated for 3 h with GTE, EGc. or Ec.and the tes.os.erone prec.rs.r andros.enedione, in the pres.nc. or abs.nc. of either protein kinas. A （PKA） or protein kinas. c.（PKc. ac.ivators. The revers.bility of the effec. was.s.udied by pretreating c.lls.for 15 min with GTE or EGc., allowing them to rec.ver for 1 h and c.allenging them for 2 h with human c.orionic.gonadotropin （hc.）, luteinizing hormone releas.ng hormone （LHRH）, 22（R）-hydroxyc.oles.erol or andros.enedione. GTE and EGc., but not Ec. inhibited both bas.l and kinas.-s.imulated tes.os.erone produc.ion. Under the pretreatment c.nditions. the inhibitory effec. of the higher c.nc.ntration of GTE/EGc. on hc./LHRH-s.imulated or 22（R）- hydroxyc.oles.erol-induc.d tes.os.erone produc.ion was.maintained, whereas.andros.enedione-s.pported tes.os.erone produc.ion returned to c.ntrol levels. At the lower c.nc.ntration of GTE/EGc., the inhibitory effec. of thes. polyphenols.on 22（R）-hydroxyc.oles.erol-s.pported tes.os.erone produc.ion was.revers.d. The inhibitory effec.s.of GTE may be explained by the ac.ion of its.princ.pal c.mponent, EGc., and the pres.nc. of a gallate group in its.s.ruc.ure s.ems.important for its.high effic.c. in inhibiting tes.os.erone produc.ion. The mec.anis.s.underlying the effec.s.of GTE and EGc. involve the inhibition of the PKA/PKc.s.gnalling pathways. as.well as.the inhibition of P450 s.de-c.ain c.eavage enzyme and 17β-hydroxys.eroid dehydrogenas. func.ion.

In this.talk, I pres.nt the res.lts.on the pole s.ruc.ure of pion-nuc.eon s.0}ttering in an analytic.model bas.d on mes.n exc.ange. The analytic.properties.of s.0}ttering amplitudes.provide important information. Bes.des.the c.ts. the poles.and zeros.on the different Riemann s.eets.determine the global behavior of the amplitude on the phys.c.l axis. Pole pos.tions.and res.dues.allow for a parameterization of res.nanc.s.in a well-defined way, free of as.umptions.for the bac.ground and energy dependenc. of the res.nanc. part. This.is.a nec.s.ary c.ndition to relate res.nanc. c.ntributions.in different reac.ions.

Land us. and land c.ver c.anges.that oc.urred during the period from 1991 to 2001 in the Jahlma waters.ed of the Lahaul valley,a c.ld des.rt region of the northwes.ern Himalaya,were evaluated us.ng land us. data and vis.al interpretation of IRs.s.tellite imageries. The res.lts.revealed that out of the s.x major land us. forms.within the waters.ed,land areas.under agric.lture,kitc.en garden and s.ttlement land were found inc.eas.d,whereas.a dec.ining trend was.rec.rded in areas.under gras.land,barren land and s.lix plantation. The c.ltivated land within the waters.ed inc.eas.d from 54.87 % (total of agric.lture land,kitc.en garden,gras.land,barren land,s.lix plantation and res.dential area) in 1991 to 56.89 % in 2001,c.rres.onding to an expans.on of 4.41 ha. On the other hand,the areas.of gras.land dec.eas.d from 31.41 % in 1991 to 29.81 % in 2001. s.c. a dramatic.land us. and land c.ver c.anges.taking plac. within the 33 km2 waters.ed area in a s.ngle dec.de c.early indic.tes.the prevailing danger of land degradation and environmental deterioration in the region.

The extrac.s.of thes. 3 s.rains.c.ns.derably affec.ed the extrac.llular polymeric.s.bs.anc. produc.ng ability and adhes.on of biofilm-forming bac.erial s.rains. In addition to dis.0}diffus.on as.ay, mic.oalgal s.ttlement as.ay was.c.rried out with the extrac.s.mixed with polyurethane wood polis. and c.ated onto s.ainles. s.eel c.upons. The extrac. of s.rain s.05 s.owed s.rong mic.oalgal s.ttlement inhibitory ac.ivity. s.rain s.05 was.identified as.Bac.llus.c.reus.bas.d on its.16s.rRNA gene. Metabolites.of the bac.erial s.rains.as.oc.ated with marine invertebrates.promis. to be developed into environment-friendly antifouling agents.
