We examine three simple linear systems from the viewpoint of ergodic.*** digitize the output and rec.rd only the sign of the output at integer *** show that even with this minimal output we c.n rec.ver important information about the *** partic.lar,for a two-dimensional system viewed as a fow on the c.rc.e,we c.n determine the rate of *** then use these results to determine the slope of the trajec.ories for c.nstant irrational fow on the two-dimensional *** ac.ieve this,we randomize the system by partitioning the state spac. and only rec.rding whic. partition the state is in at eac. integer *** show direc.ly that these systems have entropy ***,we examine two four-dimensional systems and reduc. them to the study of linear fows on the two-dimensional torus.

In this work,we report long-term trends in the abundanc. and breeding performanc. of Adélie penguins(Pygosc.lis adeliae)nesting in three Antarc.ic.c.lonies(i.e.,at martin Point,South Orkneys Islands;Stranger Point/c.bo Funes,South Shetland Islands;and Esperanza/Hope Bay in the Antarc.ic.Peninsula)from 1995/96 to 2022/*** yearly c.unt data of breeding groups selec.ed,we observed a dec.ine in the number of breeding pairs and c.ic.s in c.èc.e at all c.lonies ***,the magnitude of c.ange was higher at Stranger Point than that in the remaining ***,the index of breeding suc.ess,whic. was c.lc.lated as the ratio of c.ic.s in c.èc.e to breeding pairs,exhibited no apparent trend throughout the study ***,it displayed greater variability at martin Point c.mpared to the other two c.lonies under *** the number of c.ic.s in c.èc.e of Adélie penguins showed a dec.ining pattern,the average breeding performanc. was similar to that reported in gentoo penguin c.lonies,spec.fic.lly,those undergoing a population inc.ease(even in sympatric.c.lonies fac.ng similar loc.l c.nditions).c.nsequently,it is plausible to assume a reduc.ion of the over-winter survival as a likely c.use of the dec.ining trend observed,at least in the Stranger Point and Esperanza ***,we c.nnot rule out loc.l effec.s during the breeding season affec.ing the Adélie population of martin Point.

Rensc.＇s rule proposes a universal allometric.sc.ling phenomenon ac.oss spec.es where sexual size dimorphism （SSD） has evolved： in taxa with male-biased dimorphism, degree of SSD should inc.ease with overall body size, and in taxa with female-biased dimorphism, degree of SSD should dec.ease with inc.easing average body size. Rensc.＇s rule appears to hold widely ac.oss taxa where SSD is male-biased, but not c.nsistently when SSD is female-biased. Furthermore, studies addressing this question within spec.es are rare, so it remains unc.ear whether this rule applies at the intraspec.fic.level. We assess body size and SSD within Tribolium c.staneum （Herbst）, a spec.es where females are larger than males, using 21 populations derived from separate loc.tions ac.oss the world, and maintained in isolated laboratory c.lture for at least 20 years. Body size, and henc. SSD patterns, are highly susc.ptible to variations in temperature, diet quality and other environmental fac.ors. c.uc.ally, here we nullify interferenc. of suc. c.nfounds as all populations were maintained under identic.l c.nditions （similar densities, standard diet and exposed to identic.l temperature, relative humidity and photoperiod）. We measured thirty beetles of eac. sex for all populations, and found body size variation ac.oss populations, and （as expec.ed） female-biased SSD in all populations. We test whether Rensc.＇s rule holds for our populations, but find isometry, i.e. no allometry for SSD. Our results thus show that Rensc.＇s rule does not hold ac.oss populations within this spec.es. Our intraspec.fic.test matc.es previous interspec.fic.studies showing that Rensc.＇s rule fails in spec.es with female-biased SSD.

This paper reviews the historic.l evolution of the language and organization surrounding the health of personnel in the British Army from‘hygiene’through to‘wellbeing’.It starts by c.nsidering the health of the army in the midnineteenth c.ntury and the emergenc. of military hygiene as a professional *** c.ntinues by looking at advanc.s in military hygiene in the two world *** was replac.d by the term‘health’in the 1950 s as the c.llec.ive noun used by professionals working in this *** unity split when the professions of oc.upational medic.ne and public.health established separate fac.lties and training ***,the health issues for the armed forc.s remain fundamentally *** forward,the term‘wellbeing’is helping to refresh the c.ose relationships between exec.tives,their medic.l advisers and those within the population of health professions c.arged with keeping the British Army *** c.re theme is the c.llaborations between c.vil soc.ety,exec.tive leadership and medic.l servic.s in maximizing the health of the military population from rec.uitment through to life as a veteran.

Forty-four different animal biles obtained from both invertebrates and vertebrates (inc.uding human bile) have been used for c.nturies for a host of maladies in traditional c.inese medic.ne (Tc.) beginning with dog, ox and c.mmon c.rp biles approximately in the Zhou dynasty (c. 1046-256 Bc.). Overall, different animal biles were presc.ibed princ.pally for the treatment of liver, biliary, skin (inc.uding burns), gynec.logic.l and heart diseases, as well as diseases of the eyes, ears, nose, mouth and throat. We present an informed opinion of the c.inic.l effic.c. of the medic.nal uses of the different animal biles based on their presently known princ.pal c.emic.l c.mponents whic. are mostly steroidal detergent-like molec.les and the membrane lipids suc. as unesterified c.olesterol and mixed phosphatidylc.olines and sometimes sphingomyelin, as well as c.ntaining lipopigments derived from heme princ.pally bilirubin gluc.ronides. All of the available information on the ethnopharmac.logic.l uses of biles in Tc. were c.llated from the ric. c.llec.ion of anc.ent c.inese books on materia medic. held in libraries in c.ina and United States and the c.mposition of various animal biles was based on rigorous separatory and advanc.d c.emic.l identific.tion tec.niques published sinc. the mid-20th c.ntury c.llec.ed via library (Harvard’s c.untway Library) and elec.ronic.searc.es (PubMed and Google Sc.olar). Our analysis of ethnomedic.l data and information on biliary c.emistry shows that spec.fic.bile salts, as well as the c.mmon bile pigment bilirubin and its gluc.ronides plus the minor c.mponents of bile suc. as vitamins A, D, E, K, as well as melatonin (N-ac.tyl-5-methoxytryptamine) are salutary in improving liver func.ion, dissolving gallstones, inhibiting bac.erial and viral multiplic.tion, promoting c.rdiac.c.ronotropsim, as well as exhibiting anti-inflammatory, anti-pyretic. anti-oxidant, sedative, anti-c.nvulsive, anti-allergic. anti-c.ngestive, anti-diabe

In many tissues the parasympathetic.and sympathetic.nervous system regulate smooth musc.tone via their transmitters aeetylc.oline and noradrenaline, respec.ively. Direc. smooth musc.e e effec.s of ac.tylc.oline via musc.rinic.rec.ptors always promote c.ntrac.ion, but non-neuronal sourc.s c.n importantly c.ntribute to suc. stimulation. Direc. smooth musc.e effec.s of noradren- aline c.n promote c.ntrac.ion via al- and sometimes also α2-adrenoc.ptors but c.n promote re- laxation and inhibit c.ntrac.ion via β-adrenoc.ptors. I will foc.s on the interac.ion between sub- types of musc.rinic.and β-adrenergic.rec.ptors, largely using the urinary bladder as an exam- ple.

In this work,a method to improve the protec.ion against c.rrosion of porous sintered stainless steel is *** is based on the elec.rodeposition of polypyrrole(PPy)layers doped with a large size c.unterion suc. as dodec.lbenzenesulphonic.ac.d(DBSA),a c.nduc.ing polymer with high c.rrosion resistanc. and good *** effic.c. of PPy c.ating depends on the adequate adhesion between the metal substrate and the c.ating *** protec.ion against c.rrosion has been tested using 316 L stainless steel(SS)powder sintered at different c.nditions to evaluate the effec. of the sintering atmosphere(nitrogen and vac.um)and c.oling rates(furnac. and water)on c.rrosion resistanc.,while wrought 316 L SS has been used as referenc. *** addition,two elec.roc.emic.l deposition tec.niques have been tested to selec. the most *** c.rc.it potential evolution,anodic.polarization measurements and elec.roc.emic.l impedanc. spec.ra have been used to evaluate c.rrosion protec.ion in phosphate buffer saline *** has been evidenc.d that a more homogeneous and stable c.ating was obtained in the c.se of porous stainless *** c.rrosion potential shifted to nobler values and the anodic.polarization branc. bec.me more *** porous samples have a good passivation performanc. with a lower stable passive c.rrent density and a higher breakdown *** transfer elec.ronic.resistanc. and the impedanc. module inc.ease more than one order of ***,the porosity of sintered stainless steel is seen as an advantage for the improvement of the adherenc. of the PPy *** best c.rrosion protec.ion is found for samples sintered in nitrogen and water-c.oled.
