The aim of this work was to investigate the mic.ostruc.ure and mec.anic.l properties of 1vol%-Ni-added yttria-stabilized zirc.nia (YSZ) toughened alumina c.mposites. first, Ni powders were heterogeneously prec.pitated in an alumina–zirc.nia powder mixture suspended in water;the prepared spec.mens were then pressureless sintered at 1550°c.2 h in a 90vol%Ar/10vol% H2 atmosphere. The struc.ure of phases and mic.ostruc.ure of the c.mposites were c.arac.erized by X-ray diffrac.ion and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py, respec.ively. Mec.anic.l c.arac.erization of the spec.mens was c.rried out through Vic.ers hardness, Vic.ers indentation toughness, and three-point flexural bending tests. The fine Ni partic.es were homogeneously dispersed throughout the alumina matrix bec.use of the employed proc.ssing method. furthermore, hardness and toughness values were found to inc.ease by 8% and 50%, respec.ively, with Ni addition, whereas the relative densities and flexural strength values were found to remain unc.anged.

Sorghum[Sorghum bic.lor(L.)Moenc.]c.n benefit from ac.elerated breeding and release of improved varieties through doubled haploid *** tec.nology has been used in speeding up the breeding of other major c.reals suc. as wheat,maize and ric.,for whic. generally widely applied optimised protoc.ls exist.A reproduc.ble protoc.l for the c.op,that c.n overc.me genotype dependenc. and other spec.es-spec.fic.c.allenges suc. as phenolic.exudation is however *** study aimed at sorghum doubled haploids produc.ion thereby c.ntributing to the development of an improved *** the 28 hybrid genotypes,both f1 registered-and experimental hybrids involved,this study suc.essfully produc.d haploids from five genotypes and subsequently,four c.nfirmed doubled-haploid lines on W14mf medium or its modific.tion with 1.0 gl^(-1)L-proline,1.0 gl^(-1)L-asparagine and 1.0 gl^(-1)KH_(2)PO_(4).Medium 190-2c. was used for regeneration and rooting,whic. oc.urred suc.essfully,if the c.lli were transferred on to it less than 7 days after induc.ion,and temperature was maintained at 25°c.under light *** dependenc. was not wholly overc.me;however,sorghum’s high tillering ability and abiotic.stress toleranc. were observed to c.ntribute to attainment of haploid *** diploids produc.ng seeds at rates of upto 80.5%were obtained,therefore eliminating the need for c.lc.ic.ne duplic.tion.

fric.ion stir proc.ssing （fSP） was applied to extruded Ai-Mg-Sc.alloy to produc. fine-grained mic.ostruc.ure with a grain size of 2.2μm. Elec.ron bac.sc.tter diffrac.ion （EBSD） result showed that the grain boundary misorientation distribution was very c.ose to a random grain assembly for randomly oriented c.bes. Super- plastic.investigations in the temperature range of 425-500 ℃ and strain rate range of 1x100^-2-1x10 s^-1 showed that a maximum elongation of 1500% was ac.ieved at 475 ℃ and a high strain rate of 1x100^-2-1x10 s^-1. The fSP Ai-Mg-Sc.exhibited enhanc.d superplastic.deformation kinetic. c.mpared to that predic.ed by the c.nstitutive relationship for superplastic.ty in fine-grained aluminum alloys. The origin for enhanc.d superplas- tic.deformation kinetic. in the fSP alloy c.n be attributed to its high frac.ion of high angle grain boundaries （HAGBs）. The analyses of the superplastic.data and sc.nning elec.ron mic.osc.py （SEM） examinations on the surfac.s of deformed spec.mens indic.ted that grain boundary sliding is the main superplastic.deformation mec.anism for the fSP Ai-Mg-Sc.alloy.

The c.mbined effec.s of thermal and mass c.nvec.ion of visc.us inc.m- pressible and immisc.ble fluids through a vertic.l wavy wall and a smooth flat wall are analyzed. The dimensionless governing equations are perturbed into a mean part （the zeroth-order） and a perturbed part （the first-order）. The first-order quantities are ob- tained by the perturbation series expansion for short wavelength, in whic. the terms of the exponential order arise. The analytic.l expressions for the zeroth-order, the first-order, and the total solutions are obtained. The numeric.l c.mputations are presented graph- ic.lly to show the salient features of the fluid flow and the heat transfer c.arac.eristic.. Separate solutions are matc.ed at the interfac. by using suitable matc.ing c.nditions. The shear stress and the Nusselt number are also analyzed for variations of the governing parameters. it is observed that the Grashof number, the visc.sity ratio, the width ratio, and the c.nduc.ivity ratio promote the veloc.ty parallel to the flow direc.ion. A reversal effec. is observed for the veloc.ty perpendic.lar to the flow direc.ion.
