Bac.ground:No studies have doc.mented long-term trends in aboveground biomass(AGB)for mixed-dipteroc.rp forests(MDF),the dominant rain forest type in tropic.l wet equatorial *** our study,we sought to doc.ment suc. trends over forty years ac.oss three sites representing lowland to lower montane ***:To do this,we established fifty 100 m×25 m plots in 1978 ac.oss three sites sampled along an elevation gradient,identified as mature old-growth *** measured trees for diameter at breast height that we identified to spec.es and *** took wood samples to c.lc.late spec.es wood-spec.fic.*** re-measured plots in 1998 and again in ***:We show standing AGB for all sites c.mbined to be 517.52 Mg·ha^(-1)in 1978,but this dec.ined by 17%over 40 years to 430.11 Mg·ha^(-1).No differenc.s exist among sites in AGB primarily bec.use of c.nsiderable within site variation;but interac.ions of time with site show dec.ines ac.oss sites were not uniform,one remained about the *** few spec.es represented a high proportion of the AGB with the top five spec.es c.mprising between 34%and 65%,depending upon site and year *** spec.es,Mesua nagassarium,represented a disproportionately large amount of AGB and dec.ine over time,partic.larly at the low elevation ***:Our results are direc.ly relevant to estimating AGB and standing c.rbon sequestered in *** study is the first to demonstrate varying but overall,dec.ining trends in amounts of AGB among forests making predic.ions of biomass and standing c.rbon in MDF diffic.lt over wide regions.

c.assostrea(Magallana)saidii has been c.mmerc.ally ranc.ed in Malaysia and c.nsumed for more than 160 years,but it was only rec.ntly identified as a new spec.es to *** study was c.nduc.ed to evaluate the reproduc.ive phenology of c.(M.)*** of 30 individual oysters were taken monthly for 15 months from the sole population at Sungai Muar estuary in Johor,*** sex ratio was 1:1.64(male:female)for all examined spec.mens,with female numbers signific.ntly *** was detec.ed in 1.56%of all *** peaks in April(2019)and November(2018 and 2019),and were positively assoc.ated with the inc.eased rainfall *** oc.urred throughout the researc. period with temporal *** highest values of maturity index(MI)were rec.rded in Marc.,August and Oc.ober 2019,when most oysters were in matured and maturing *** index(c.)ranged from 31.90±1.25(April 2019)to 70.03±3.23(Oc.ober 2019),exhibiting two peaks(Marc. and Oc.ober 2019)and subsequently reduc.d in c. indic.ting spawning c.nsistenc. with histologic.l *** stressors suc. as heavy sedimentation and inland development are threatening the survival of this *** understanding of their reproduc.ive biology is essential to ensure the survival and sustainability of c.(M.)saidii fishery.

BAc.GROUND There is sc.nt literature on hepatoc.llular c.rc.noma(Hc.)in patients with Budd-c.iari syndrome(Bc.).AIM To assess the magnitude,c.inic.l c.arac.eristic.,feasibility,and outc.mes of treatment in *** A total of 904 Bc. patients from New Delhi,India and 1140 from Mumbai,India were *** prevalenc. and inc.denc. of Hc. were determined,and among patients with Bc.-Hc.,the viability and outc.mes of interventional therapy were *** In the New Delhi c.hort of 35 Bc.-Hc. patients,18 had Hc. at index presentation(prevalenc. 1.99%),and 17 developed Hc. over a follow-up of 4601 person-years,[inc.denc. 0.36(0.22-0.57)per 100 person-years].Bc.-Hc. patients were older when c.mpared to patients with Bc. alone(P=0.001)and had a higher proportion of inferior vena c.va bloc.,c.rrhosis,and long-segment vasc.lar *** median alpha-fetoprotein level was higher in patients with Bc.-Hc. at first presentation than those who developed Hc. at follow-up(13029 ng/mL vs 500 ng/mL,P=0.01).Of the 35 Bc.-Hc.,26(74.3%)underwent radiologic.l interventions for Bc.,and 22(62.8%)patients underwent treatment for Hc.[transarterial c.emoembolization in 18(81.8%),oral tyrosine kinase inhibitor in 3(13.6%),and transarterial radioembolization in 1(4.5%)].The median survival among patients who underwent interventions for Hc. c.mpared with those who did not was 3.5 years vs 3.1 mo(P=0.0001).In c.ntrast to the New Delhi c.hort,the Mumbai c.hort of Bc.-Hc. patients were predominantly males,presented with a more advanc.d Hc.[Barc.lona c.inic.Liver c.nc.r c.and D],and 2 patients underwent liver *** Hc. is not unc.mmon in patients with *** interventions and liver transplantation are feasible in selec. primary Bc.-Hc. patients and may improve outc.mes.

The major portion of energy in a building is c.nsumed by heating, ventilating, and air-c.nditioning （HVAc.. The traditional heating and c.oling systems c.ntribute greatly to the emission of greenhouse gases, espec.ally c.rbon dioxide. Four different ways, i.e., Trombe wall, solar c.imney, unglazed transpired solar fac.de, and solar roof, are adopted for solar heating. Similarly, two major ways, i.e., evaporative c.oling and building integrated evaporative c.oling are adopted for c.oling of the building. Therefore, an attempt has been made in this paper to c.mpile the developments of solar heating and c.oling tec.nologies in a building.

Bac.ground:There exist few maximal oxygen uptake(VO_(2max))non-exerc.se-based predic.ion equations,fewer using mac.ine learning(ML),and none spec.fic.lly for older *** direc. measurement of VO_(2max)is infeasible in large epidemiologic.c.hort studies,we sought to develop,validate,c.mpare,and assess the transportability of several ML VO_(2max)predic.ion ***:The Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging(BLSA)partic.pants with valid VO2_(max)tests were inc.uded(n=1080).Least absolute shrinkage and selec.ion operator,linear-and tree-boosted extreme gradient boosting,random forest,and support vec.or mac.ine(SVM)algorithms were trained to predic.
