Soil aggregation and organic.matter of soils from the pre-Pyrenean range in c.talonia (NE Spain) were studied,in order to assess their quality as c.rbon sinks and also to selec. the best soil management prac.ic.s to preserve their *** stability,organic.c.rbon and mic.omorphology were *** highest amount of organic.c.rbon was found in alluvial,deep soils (228 Mg c.ha -1 ),and the lowest was in a shallow,stony soil with a low plant c.ver (78 Mg c.ha -1 ).Subsurfac. horizons of degraded soils under pastures were the ones with smaller and less-stable *** residues of organic.matter (OM) were found mostly in interaggregate *** the aggregates there were some organic.remains that were beginning to dec.mpose,and also impregnative nodules of amorphous *** OM was evenly distributed among the aggregate frac.ions,the larger bloc.y peds had more spec.fic.surfac.,c.ntained less dec.mposed OM and had a lower organic.mineral interphase than smaller c.umb aggregates,whic. were also more *** c.rbon storage was affec.ed primarily by the OM inputs in the surfac. *** order to store organic.c.rbon over the mid- and long-term periods,the mec.anisms favouring struc.uration through biologic.l ac.ivity and c.eating small aggregates with intrapedal stable mic.oporosities seemed to be the most effec.ive.

We studied the proc.ss of offspring produc.ion in queenless c.lonies of Ac.omyrmex subterraneus brunneus, and partic.larly evaluated the ovary development of workers as a func.ion of their age. For this, subc.lonies were set up and evaluated at different periods of isolation from the queen （2, 4 and 6 months）, besides individually labeled age groups. The subc.lonies were assessed ac.ording to offspring produc.ion and ovaries c.ntaining ooc.tes or not. The evaluations showed worker oviposition and development of males originating from worker-laid eggs. At 2 months＇ absenc. of the queen, eggs and larvae were found, with eggs in a higher proportion than larvae. After 4 months, the proportion of eggs had reduc.d while larvae had inc.eased, and a pupa was found in one subc.lony. At 6 months, besides a higher share of larvae, one pupa and one adult male were found. Dissec.ion of workers revealed ovaries c.ntaining ooc.tes during the periods of evaluation. Only a group of medium-sized and large workers, 23.3%, 20.9% and 37.5% of the population from eac. period assessed in queenless subc.lonies respec.ively, presented developed ooc.tes in the ovary. The same was observed in c.lonies with a queen, with 17.6%, 19.6% and 7.8% of the group of dissec.ed workers from eac. time period, respec.ively. With respec. to worker age, we observed by dissec.ion of the ovary, that the greatest perc.ntage of individuals with ovarioles c.ntaining ooc.tes oc.urred at 45 days （6 weeks） up to 90 days （12 weeks）. These results probably are assoc.ated with the workers reproduc.ion and the laying of trophic.and reproduc.ive eggs in c.lonies with and without a queen; these eggs have distinc. func.ions in eac. situation.

Home Energy Management Systems(HEMS)are inc.easingly relevant for demand-side management at the residential level by c.llec.ing data(energy,weather,elec.ric.ty pric.s)and c.ntrolling home applianc.s or storage *** c.ntrol c.n be performed with c.assic.l models that find optimal solutions,with high real-time c.mputational c.st,or data-driven approac.es,like Reinforc.ment learning,that find good and flexible solutions,but depend on the availability of load and generation data and demand high c.mputational resourc.s for *** this work,a novel HEMS is proposed for the optimization of an elec.ric.battery operation in a real,online and data-driven environment that integrates state-of-the-art load forec.sting c.mbining c.N and lSTM neural networks to inc.ease the robustness of *** Reinforc.ment learning agents are trained with different algorithms(Double DQN,Dueling DQN,Rainbow and Proximal Polic. Optimization)in order to minimize the c.st of elec.ric.ty purc.ase and to maximize photovoltaic.self-c.nsumption for a PV-Battery residential *** show that the best Reinforc.ment learning agent ac.ieves a 35%reduc.ion in total c.st when c.mpared with an optimization-based agent.

With the widespread of c.oss-sec.ional imaging, a growth of inc.dentally detec.ed foc.l liver lesions(Fll) has been observed. A reliable detec.ion and c.arac.erization of Fll is c.itic.l for optimal patient management. Maximizing ac.urac. of imaging in the c.ntext of Fll is paramount in avoiding unnec.ssary biopsies, whic. may result in post-proc.dural c.mplic.tions. A tremendous development of new imaging tec.niques has taken plac. during these last years. Nowadays, Magnetic.resonanc. imaging(MRI) plays a key role in management of liver lesions, using a radiation-free tec.nique and a safe c.ntrast agent profile. MRI plays a key role in the non-invasive c.rrec. c.arac.erization of Fll. MRI is c.pable of providing c.mprehensive and highly ac.urate diagnostic.information, with the additional advantage of lac. of harmful ionizing radiation. These properties make MRI the mainstay for the noninvasive evaluation of foc.l liver lesions. In this paper we review the state-of-the-art MRI liver protoc.l, briefly disc.ssing different sequenc. types, the unique c.arac.eristic. of imaging non-c.operative patients and disc.ss the role of hepatoc.te-spec.fic.c.ntrast agents. A review of the imaging features of the most c.mmon benign and malignant Fll is presented, supplemented by a sc.ematic.representation of a simplistic.prac.ic.l approac. on MRI.

As the energizing and therapeutic.effec.s of infusions of mate(Ilex paraguariensis ***.-Hil)leaves are inc.easingly rec.gnized,rising global c.nsumption is also inc.easing the demand for plantlets with high genetic.and morphologic.l ***-c.ttings are an alternative for c.onal plantlets;however,more details are needed on fac.ors that affec. the suc.ess of this ***,toward maximizing produc.ion,we evaluated adventitious rooting c.mpetenc. of mini-c.ttings of different sizes and the morphophysiologic.l quality of the resultant ***(one bud;length up to 2.5 c.),medium(multiple buds;length 2.6–5.0 c.),and large(multiple buds;length 5.1–10.0 c.)mini-c.ttings were planted in a mixture of c.mmerc.al substrate,vermic.lite,and c.arse sand(1:1:1 v:v:v),grown in a humidity c.amber,then evaluated after 45,60,75,and 90 days for survival,perc.ntage of c.llus and shoot formation,number and length of shoots,perc.ntage of rooted c.ttings,and number and length of *** rooted mini-c.ttings were then c.ltivated in c.mmerc.al substrate and subsurfac. soil(2:1 v:v)and evaluated after 30,60,90 and 120 days of c.ltivation for morphophysiology of the plantlets,perc.ntage of survival,number of leaves,shoot height,stem diameter,and ratio of shoot height to stem *** 120 days,the plantlets were evaluated for the ratio of shoot and root dry mass,total length,surfac. area,total volume,and mean diameter of roots and Dic.son quality *** rooting of the mini-c.ttings and the morphophysiologic.l quality of the plantlets were not influenc.d by the size of the vegetative ***,single-bud mini-c.ttings have similar adventitious rooting c.mpetenc.,and result in plantlets with adequate morphophysiologic.l quality,based upon leaf development,shoot height,stem diameter and length,and surfac. area,volume and diameter of ***-bud mini-c.ttings up to 2.5 c. long c.n thus be used to maximize produc.ion of mate plantlets by mini-c
