Low inc.me is the ma.n problem of millions of fa.mers who a.e c.ltiva.ing 4.81 million hec.a.es in the Philippines. This problem is a.tributed to c.a.lenges spec.fic.lly low yield, low qua.ity of produc., a.d signific.nt post-ha.vest losses, pa.tic.la.ly in a.resourc.-sc.rc. setting. This study a.med to help inc.ea.e the fa.mers’ inc.me in selec.ed towns of Nueva.Ec.ja.through the promotion a.d use of spec.a. purpose ric. produc.ion tec.nology. Twenty (20) fa.mer-c.opera.ors in three towns of Nueva.Ec.ja.were selec.ed to demonstra.e the produc.ion tec.nology c.vering a.tota. a.ea.of 4.75 hec.a.es during the dry sea.on, a.d 3.3 hec.a.es during the wet sea.on, both in 2023. Extension moda.ities suc. a. tra.ning, tec.no-demo esta.lishment, informa.ion ma.eria. a.d tec.nic.l a.sista.c. provision, a.d ma.ket linka.e were underta.en to enha.c. their knowledge, a.titude, a.d skills on spec.a. ric. produc.ion a.d enterprise. The study utilized the desc.iptive qua.tita.ive method wherein the da.a.were ga.hered through surveys, spec.fic.lly persona. interviews. Results showed tha. 70% of the fa.mer-c.opera.ors were ma.e a.d 60% were living below the poverty threshold. The fa.mers were 53 yea.s old on a.era.e a.d enga.ed in fa.ming a. their prima.y sourc. of inc.me. The a.era.e yield of spec.a. purpose ric. pa.tic.la.ly the c.s-2 va.iety wa. higher (6.46 MT/ha.a.d 6.22 MT/ha.during dry a.d wet sea.ons, respec.ively) tha. tha. of inbred or non-spec.a. ric.. The inc.me per hec.a.e from spec.a. purpose ric. produc.ion per hec.a.e wa. Php 75,420.00, whic. is higher tha. tha. of regula. ric. a. Php 29,389.00, giving a.higher benefit of Php 46,031.00. The tec.nology a.opters a.d a.ea.pla.ted inc.ea.ed (from 6 to 9 a.d from 1.4 hec.a.es to 2.75 hec.a.es, respec.ively) in Lic.b, Nueva.Ec.ja. The opposite wa. true in sto. Domingo a.d Guimba. Nueva.Ec.ja.where fa.mers were disc.ura.ed by the ma.keting issues tha. a.ose.

Introduc.ion: Peric.rditis is a. infla.ma.ion of the peric.rdium with or without peric.rdia. fluid effusion. Its preva.enc. is diffic.lt to determine given the ma.y forms tha. a.e not symptoma.ic. In a.ric., its preva.enc. wa. 6.3% in Ga.on in 2020 a.d 7.2% in Ma.i in 2022. In Europe, a. Ita.ia. study estima.es the inc.denc. of a.0}te peric.rditis a. 27.7 c.ses per 100,000 people per yea.. In a.other study c.nduc.ed in Finla.d over a.period of 9 yea.s, the inc.denc. of peric.rditis requiring hospita.isa.ion wa. 3.32 c.ses per 100,000 people per yea.. The a.m of our study wa. to desc.ibe the c.inic.l a.d pa.a.0}inic.l c.a.a.0}eristic. of peric.rditis observed in the c.rdiology depa.tment of the regiona. hospita. in Ma.i. Methodology: This wa. a.single c.ntre c.oss-sec.iona. study from 30 Ja.ua.y 2018 to 30 June 2020 in the c.rdiology depa.tment of the ségou regiona. hospita.. a.l c.nsenting pa.ients, rega.dless of a.e or sex hospita.ised in the depa.tment for peric.rditis c.nfirmed on c.rdia.0}ultra.ound were inc.uded. Da.a.were c.llec.ed using a. individua. pa.ient follow-up form rec.rding soc.odemogra.hic. c.inic.l, biologic.l, elec.roc.rdiogra.hic.a.d ec.oc.rdiogra.hic.da.a. a. well a. the c.urse of the disea.e. Results: Out of 879 pa.ients hospita.ized, the hospita. frequenc. wa. 7.28%. Fema.es predomina.ed, with a.sex ra.io of 0.42. More tha. ha.f the pa.ients were a.ed 45 or younger (59.4%). The mea. a.e of pa.ients wa. 41.8 ± 18.1 yea.s. c.rdiova.c.la. risk fa.0}ors were domina.ed by hypertension a.d smoking (46.9% a.d 12.5% respec.ively). The rea.ons for c.nsulta.ion were dyspnoea.(84.3%), c.est pa.n (54.7%), c.ugh (71.9%) a.d fever (34.4%). Physic.l signs inc.uded muffled hea.t sounds (76.6%), ta.0}yc.rdia.(70.3%), peric.rdia. fric.ion (17.2%) a.d signs of periphera. sta.is in 53.1% of c.ses. We observed eleva.ed c.rea.0}ive protein (c.P) in 57.8% of c.ses, hyperc.ea.inina.mia.in 37.5% a.d positive HIV serology in 3.1%. The ma.or ra.iogra.hic.signs were c.rdiomega.

Results: a.out 5.8% of the pa.tic.pa.ts exhibited detec.a.le levels of serum β-Hc. a.ove 5 IU/L (World Hea.th Orga.iza.ion referenc.) a. a.mea. c.nc.ntra.ion of 5.87 (±1.75) IU/L. a.out 4.0% of the pa.tic.pa.ts ha. suspic.ous ova.ia. lesions identified through ultra.onogra.hy. From 78 to 98 weeks of a.e, 400 White LsL-Lite stra.n la.ing hens were distributed in a.ra.domized design with 4 trea.ments with 10 replic.tes per trea.ment. Trea.ments were distributed in a.2 ×2 fa.0}oria. a.ra.gement using either Zn, Mn, a.d c. of ZMc.a.or ZMc.ly sourc. a. 2 levels: low(20, 20,a.d 3.5 mg/kg of Zn, Mn, a.d c., respec.ively) or high(40, 40, a.d 7 mg/kg of Zn, Mn, a.d c.,respec.ively). The a.a.ysis of va.ia.c. wa. performed, a.d in c.ses where differenc.s were observed, the mea.s were c.mpa.ed using Tukey?s test(P sourc. a.d level of tra.0} minera. supplementa.ion ha. a.signific.nt impa.0} on the performa.c. of la.ing hens. Hens fed ZMc.a.ha. higher egg produc.ion(P = 0.01), egg weight(P = 0.02), egg ma.s(P = 0.01), a.d lower feed c.nversion ra.io(P =0.05) c.mpa.ed to those fed ZMc.ly. The ZMc.a.supplementa.ion showed higher a.bumen height(P =0.01), a.bumen weight(P = 0.01), a.d eggshell thic.ness(P sition of Zn(P a.d c.(P a. grea.er for hens rec.ived ZMc.a. Tibia.weight(P = 0.04)a.d bone densitometry(P a.were higher with ZMc.a.supplementa.ion. In the sma.l intestine, ZMc.a.resulted in longer villi(P = 0.02) a.d shorter c.ypt depth(P = 0.01) in the *** a.d ileum mea.urements were influenc.d by the level a.d sourc. of tra.0} minera.s(P a.ing hens fed ZMc.a.exhibited superior performa.c., egg qua.ity, deposition of tra.0} minera.s in the egg yolk, a.d bone density c.mpa.ed to hens fed ZMc.ly. In this study, older la.ing hens supplemented with ZMc.a.a. lower levels demonstra.ed a.equa.e levels of supplementa.ion.
