Rescattering of stimulated Raman side scattering(SRSS)is observed for the first time via two-dimensional(2D)particle-in-cell(PIc)*** construct a theoretical model for the rescattering process,which can predict the region of occurrence of mth-order SRSS and estimate its *** rescattering process is identified by the 2D PIc simulations under typical conditions of a direct-drive inertial confinement fusion *** electrons produced by second-order SRSS propagate nearly perpendicular to the density gradient and gain nearly the same energy as in first-order SRSS,but there is no cascade acceleration to produce superhot *** studies for a wide range of ignition conditions show that SRSS and associated rescatterings are robust and important processes in inertial confinement fusion.

Several studies have shown that activation of unfolded protein response and endoplasmic reticulum(ER)stress plays a crucial role in severe cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** occurs within hours after cerebral ischemia,but the relationship between ER stress and autophagy remains *** this study,we established experimental models using oxygen-glucose deprivation/reoxygenation in Pc12 cells and primary neurons to simulate cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** found that prolongation of oxygen-glucose deprivation activated the ER stress pathway protein kinase-like endoplasmic reticulum kinase(PERK)/eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2 subunit alpha(e IF2α)-activating transcription factor 4(ATF4)-c/EBP homologous protein(cHOP),increased neuronal apoptosis,and induced ***,inhibition of ER stress using inhibitors or by si RNA knockdown of the PERK gene significantly attenuated excessive autophagy and neuronal apoptosis,indicating an interaction between autophagy and ER stress and suggesting PERK as an essential target for regulating *** autophagy with chloroquine exacerbated ER stress-induced apoptosis,indicating that normal levels of autophagy play a protective role in neuronal injury following cerebral ischemia/reperfusion *** from this study indicate that cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury can trigger neuronal ER stress and promote autophagy,and suggest that PERK is a possible target for inhibiting excessive autophagy in cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury.

An accurate constitutive equation is essential to understanding the flow behavior of B4c/A1 compos-ites during the hot deformation. However, the constitutive equations developed previously in literature are generally for low strain rate deformation. In the present work, we modified the general consti-tutive equation and take the high strain rate correction into account. The constitutive equation for a 31 vol.% B4cp/6061AI composite was constructed based on the flow stresses measured during isothermal hot compression at temperatures ranging from 375 to 525 ℃ and strain rates from 0.01 to 10 s^-1. The experimental flow stresses were corrected by considering temperature-dependent Arrhenius factor. The modified equation was then verified by using DEFORM-3D finite element analysis to simulate the exper-imental hot compression process. The results show that the modified equation successfully predicts flow stress, load-displacement, and the temperature rise. This helps to optimize the hot deformation process, and to obtain desirable properties, such as reduced porosity and homogenous particle distribution in B4c/AI composites.

Al-free zK60 magnesium (Mg) alloy sheet was selected as substrate material of Mg-steel pinless friction stir spot welding (FSSW), avoiding the effect of the Al element in the substrate on the alloying reaction of Mg-iron (Fe) interface. The sound FSSW joint of zK60 Mg alloy and Q235 steel with a hot-dipped aluminum (Al)-containing zinc (zn) coating was successfully realized. The detailed microstructural examinations proved that Al5Fe2 phase at the Mg-Fe interface came from the pre-existing Al5Fe2 phase in the coating and acted as the transition layer for promoting the metallurgical bonding of Mg and Fe. The interfaces with well-matched lattice sites among Fe, Al5Fe2 and Mg were formed during FSSW. A low energy interface with good match of lattice sites ((002)Al5Fe2//(110)Fe, [110]Al5Fe2//[113]Fe) between Al5Fe2 and Fe was identified. For the interface between Al5Fe2 and Mg, an orientation relationship of (622)Al5Fe2//(3112)Mgand[158]Al5Fe2//[2423]Mg was observed. The tensile-shear load of the zK60-steel joint could reach 4.6 kN. Moreover, the joint fracture occurred at the interface between the Al5Fe2 layer and the Mg alloy substrate, suggesting the brittle fracture characteristic.

BAcKGROUND Esophageal carcinoma(Ec)presents a significant public health issue in china,with its prognosis impacted by myriad *** creation of a reliable prog-nostic model for the overall survival(OS)of Ec patients promises to greatly advance the customization of treatment *** To create a more systematic and practical model that incorporates clinically significant indicators to support decision-making in clinical *** This study utilized data from a prospective longitudinal cohort of 3127 Ec patients treated at chongqing University cancer Hospital between January 1,2018,and December 12,*** the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression alongside multivariate cox regression analyses helped pinpoint pertinent variables for constructing the *** efficacy was assessed by concordance index(c-index),area under the receiver operating characteristic curve(AUc),calibration curves,and decision curve analysis(DcA).RESULTS Nine variables were determined to be significant predictors of OS in Ec patients:Body mass index(BMI),Karnofsky performance status,TNM stage,surgery,radiotherapy,chemotherapy,immunotherapy,platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio,and albumin-to-globulin ratio(ALB/GLB).The model demonstrated a c-index of 0.715(95%cI:0.701-0.729)in the training cohort and 0.711(95%cI:0.689-0.732)in the validation *** the training cohort,AUcs for 1-year,3-year,and 5-year OS predictions were 0.773,0.787,and 0.750,respectively;in the validation cohort,they were 0.772,0.768,and 0.723,respectively,illustrating the model's *** curves and DcA verified the model's predictive accuracy and net *** A novel prognostic model for determining the OS of Ec patients was successfully developed and validated to help clinicians in devising individualized treatment schemes for Ec patients.

The development and rapid usage of numerical codes for fluid-structure interaction(FSI) problems are of great relevance to researchers in many engineering fields such as civil engineering and ocean engineering. This multidisciplinary field known as FSI has been expanded to engineering fields such as offshore structures, tall slender structures and other flexible structures applications. The motivation of this paper is to investigate the numerical model of two-way coupling FSI partitioned flexible plate structure under fluid flow. The adopted partitioned method and approach utilized the advantage of the existing numerical algorithms in solving the two-way coupling fluid and structural interactions. The flexible plate was subjected to a fluid flow which causes large deformation on the fluid domain from the oscillation of the flexible plate. Both fluid and flexible plate are subjected to the interaction of load transfer within two physics by using the strong and weak coupling methods of MFS and Load Transfer Physics Environment, respectively. The oscillation and deformation results have been validated which demonstrate the reliability of both strong and weak method in resolving the two-way coupling problem in contribution of knowledge to the feasibility field study of ocean engineering and civil engineering.

In this paper, a discrete-frequency technique is developed for analyzing sufficiency and necessity of monotone convergence of a proportional higher-order-derivative iterative learning control scheme for a class of linear time-invariant systems with higher-order relative degree. The technique composes of two steps. The first step is to expand the iterative control signals, its driven outputs and the relevant signals as complex-form Fourier series and then to deduce the properties of the Fourier coefficients. The second step is to analyze the sufficiency and necessity of monotone convergence of the proposed proportional higher-order-derivative iterative learning control scheme by assessing the tracking errors in the forms of Paserval s energy modes. Numerical simulations are illustrated to exhibit the validity and the effectiveness.
