Effects of dietary hemp seed oil to sows on fatty acid profiles,nutritional and immune status of piglets

Background:The oil from industrial hemp seeds(cannabis sativa)is an ideal source of stearidonic acid,which is a precursor fatty acid for the long-chained n-3 polyunsaturated fatty *** fatty acids are important for neonatal development,health and *** seed oil has been investigated for the influence on human health,but research on the impact in pig nutrition is *** aim of our research was to study the effect of dietary hemp seed oil relative to soybean oil to lactating sows on the transfer of fatty acids to the off-spring and the effect on piglets’immune and nutritional ***:The fatty acid composition of the hemp seed and the soybean oil influenced the fatty acid composition of sow plasma,colostrum and mature *** highest proportion of c18:3n-3,c18:4n-3 and c20:4n-6 was obtained in mature milk fat of sows fed 5%hemp seed oil diet when compared to the other dietary fat sources(5%soybean oil or a 50:50 mix of hemp and soybean oil at 5%).The effect of dietary oil supplementation to sows was reflected in the plasma fatty acids profile of *** the proportion of c20:5n-3 and c22:5n-3 was the highest in plasma of piglets suckling sows fed hemp seed oil-containing diets,whereas no c18:4n-3 could be detected hence indicating conversion ofα-linolenic acid(ALA)and stearidonic acid(SDA)to the longer chained n-3 polyunsaturated fatty *** fat source also influenced number of born piglets,their weight gain during first week,plasma concentration of glucose and IgG,and haematological ***:The hemp seed oil resulted in direct maternal supply with n-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids(LcPUFA),especially ALA and SDA,and piglets were able to convert these fatty acids obtained via the sow milk intake to c20:5n-3 and c22:***,some interesting effects of the 5%hemp seed oil was obtained with regard to piglet initial body weight gain and glucose,which could be of interest for further research,i.e.,the

脂质氧化是导致肉类及肉制品质量变差最主要的原因之一,会影响肉的品质(包括风味、颜色和肉质的异常,营养价值改变,甚至产生有毒物质)。在日粮中添加超过动物常规营养需要量的维生素E可以有效减缓肉类及肉制品的脂质氧化。本综述主要阐述:维生素E在猪肉、鸡肉中的沉积和抗氧化作用;在日粮中超量添加维生素E对肉的脂质氧化、肉色、系水力和胆固醇氧化的影响;肌肉中维生素E沉积量与肉品加工、包装和储藏条件之间的相互作用。脂质氧化的过程受屠宰后很多因素的影响,如促进肌肉氧化的物质(铁、肌红蛋白)的含量和状态、肌肉的抗氧化水平(包括α-生育酚、含组氨酸的二肽以及谷胱氨酸过氧化物酶、超氧化物歧化酶和过氧化氢酶等)、肌肉中脂肪的含量和构成以及加工、包装和储存的方式。为了保证肉质最佳,需要考虑从动物活体到最终产品的全过程。最近几年,通过特定动物饲料配制来改善肉质的研究报道逐渐增加。本综述重点讨论在猪和家禽日粮中超量添加α-生育酚醋酸盐对肌肉α-生育酚沉积以及鸡肉和猪肉品质的影响。

s age at puberty associated with semen quality ant ＇eproductive hormones in young adult life？

The evidence is scarce on the association between age at puberty and semen quality. A cohort of 320 Danish men aged 18-21 years enrolled in the ＂Healthy Habits for Two＂ birth cohort provided self-reported data on pubertal indicators and delivered semen and blood samples. The results indicated an association between older age at pubertal development and lower semen quality and altered reproductive hormones concentrations as measured in young adult life. Men who had their first nocturnal emission, start of pubic hair growth and first voice break episode when older than 15 years had 37.0%, 45.0% and 32.7% lower sperm concentration; 37.8%, 44.2% and 29.1% lower total sperm count; 7.4%, 13.4% and 15.3% lower testosterone concentration; and 21.3%, 1.5% and 3.7% lower inhibin B concentration, respectively, compared with the men who were younger than 13 years at their first pubertal indicators. Only few of the results were statistically significant, but similar tendencies were seen in several of the reproductive parameters suggesting an association between the timing of pubertal development and reproductive health later in life.

changes in Brachial and central Blood Pressure after Short Term continuous Positive Airway Pressure Treatment of Patients with Moderate-to-Severe Obstructive Sleep Apnoea and Impaired Renal Function

Background: Previous studies of continuous positive airway pressure (cPAP) treatment for obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA) have shown conflicting results on the effect on blood pressure (BP), and patients with chronic kidney disease (cKD) have not been included in these studies. As OSA is a frequent comorbidity in patients with cKD, it is of relevance to evaluate the effect of cPAP treatment on BP in this population. Aim: In this prospective follow-up study, we measured the effect of short term cPAP treatment of moderate-to-severe OSA on brachial and central BP, plasma level of syndecan-1 and vasoactive hormones, renal handling of sodium, subjective sleepiness, and quality of life in patients with impaired renal function. Methods: From December 2015 until March 2017, 25 patients were invited to participate in the study at the University clinic in Nephrology and Hypertension, Aarhus University and Holstebro Hospital. At baseline and at follow-up after three to four months of cPAP treatment, we performed 24 h brachial and central ambulatory BP measurement, blood sampling measurements of plasma concentrations of syndecan-1, renin, angiotensin II, aldosterone, vasopressin, creatinine, haemoglobin A1c, and cholesterol, cardio respiratory monitoring, 24 h urine collection for measurement of urinary excretion of albumin, aquaporin-2, and epithelial sodium channel, Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), and SF-36 (quality of life). Results: At follow-up, the 17 included patients with mean baseline estimated glomerular filtration rate 66 mL/min/1.73 m2 had a significant decrease in systolic office-, 24 h- and daytime-BP (13, 7, and 8 mmHg, respectively, p conclusion: Short-term cPAP treatment of patients with moderate-to-severe OSA and reduced renal function decreased 24 h- and daytime-BP significantly and reduced urinary albumin excretion. Our results underline the importance of treatment of OSA in hypertensive patients with impaired renal function.
