Factors that impact health-related quality of life in adults with celiac disease:A multicenter study

AIM: To evaluate the factors involved in the impairment of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) in patients with celiac ***: A multicenter, cross-sectional prospective study was performed in patients with celiac disease who completed two HRQOL questionnaires: the gastrointestinal quality of life index (GIQLI) and the EuroQol-5D (EQ).RESULTS: Three hundred and forty patients (163 controlled with a gluten-free diet, and 177 newly diagnosed with a normal diet) were included. The GIQLI score was significantly better in patients on a gluten-free diet (GFD) than in non-treated patients on their usual diet, both in terms of the overall score (3.3 vs 2.7, respectively; P ce value of the EQ as the visual analogue scale were significantly better in treated than in non-treated patients (0.93 vs 0.72 P ctively). Variables significantly associated with a worse HRQOL score were female gender, failure to adhere to a GFD, and symptomatic ***: In untreated celiac disease, the most important factors that influence patient perception of health are the presence of symptoms and a normal diet. HRQOL improves to levels similar to those described in the general population in celiac disease patients well controlled with a GFD.

Since its reform and opening up process started in1978china Foreign Trade increased at historical rates, becoming a major influence for many countries in the world, including Argentina. However, given the cultural and geographical distance between both countries, the new configuration of the trade relation was not properly addressed by our scholars until recent years. In view of the foregoing, this study seeks to investigate, empirically, the determinants of the pattern of trade, the trade volume, the economic benefits and the disadvantages that have accrued to Argentina and china as a result of bilateral trade. For the purpose of analysis, the main figures of the bilateral trade considering the period2002-2012were meticulously analyzed. The findings reveal that china has become one of Argentina’s major suppliers of manufactured products, as well as a privileged destination of agricultural exports. The magnitude and the economic relevance of bilateral trade between Argentina and china have been intensified within the last two decades generating both advantages and disadvantages for both countries. This thesis seeks to give advice to the public sector of Argentina based on the empirical findings revealed in order to enhance the trade relations between the two countries.

The oxygen reduction reaction （ORR） is essential in research pertaining to life science and energy. In applications, platinum-based catalysts give ideal reactivity, but, in practice, are often subject to high costs and poor stability. Some costefficient transition metal oxides have exhibited excellent ORR reactivity, but the stability and durability of such alternative catalyst materials pose serious challenges. Here, we present a facile method to fabricate uniform coxOy nanoparticles and embed them into N-doped carbon, which results in a composite of extraordinary stability and durability, while maintaining its high reactivity. The half-wave potential shows a negative shift of only 21 mV after 10,000 cycles, only one third of that observed for Pt/c （63 mV）. Furthermore, after 100,000 s testing at a constant potential, the current decreases by only 17%, significantly less than for Pt/c （35%）. The exceptional stability and durability results from the system architecture, which comprises a thin carbon shell that prevents agglomeration of the coxOy nanoparticles and their detaching from the substrate.

Aims Different plant functional groups display diverging responses to the same environmental ***,we assess the effects of environmental and spatial predictors on species turnover of three functional groups of Brazilian savannas(cerrado)plants—trees,palms and lianas—across the transition zone between the cerrado and Amazon biomes in central *** We used edaphic,climatic and plant composition data from nine one-hectare plots to assess the effects of the environment and space on species turnover using a Redundancy Analysis and Generalized Dissimilarity Modeling(GDM),associated with variance *** Findings We recorded 167 tree species,5 palms and 4 liana *** variation was most important in explaining species turnover,relative to geographic distance,but the best predictors differed between functional groups:geographic distance and silt for lianas;silt for palms;geographic distance,temperature and elevation for *** distances alone exerted little influence over species turnover for the three functional *** pure environmental variation explained most of the liana and palm turnover,while tree turnover was largely explained by the shared spatial and environmental *** effects of geographic distance upon species turnover leveled off at about 300 km for trees,and 200 km for lianas,whereas they were unimportant for palm species *** results indicate that environmental factors that determine floristic composition and species turnover differ substantially between plant functional groups in ***,we recommend that studies that aim to investigate the role of environmental conditions in determining plant species turnover should examine plant functional groups separately.

Sharing sensitive data is a specific challenge for research infrastructures in the field of life *** that reason a toolbox has been developed,providing resources for researchers who wish to share and use sensitive data,to support the workflows for handling these kinds of digital *** and community approved annotations are required to be compliant with FAIR principles(Findability,Accessibility,Interoperability,Reusability).The toolbox makes use of a tagging(categorisation)system,allowing consistent labelling and categorisation of digital objects,in terms relevant to data sharing tasks and activities.A pilot study was performed within the Horizon 2020 project EOSc-Life,in which 2 experts from 6 life sciences research infrastructures were recruited to independently assign tags to the same set of 10 to 25 resources related to sensitive data management and data sharing(in total 110).Summary statistics of agreement and observer variation per research infrastructure are *** pilot study has shown that experts were able to attribute tags but in most cases with a considerable observer variation between *** the context of cWFR(canonical Workflow Frameworks for Research),this indicates the necessity for careful definition,evaluation and validation of parameters and processes related to workflow *** results from this pilot study were used to tackle this issue by revising the categorisation system and providing an updated version.
