The joint European space Agency and chinese Academy of sciences solar wind Magnetosphere Ionosphere Link Explorer(sMILE)mission will explore global dynamics of the magnetosphere under varying solar wind and interplanetary magnetic field conditions,and simultaneously monitor the auroral response of the Northern hemisphere *** these large-scale responses with medium and fine-scale measurements at a variety of cadences by additional ground-based and space-based instruments will enable a much greater scientific impact beyond the original goals of the sMILE ***,we describe current community efforts to prepare for sMILE,and the benefits and context various experiments that have explicitly expressed support for sMILE can offer.A dedicated group of international scientists representing many different experiment types and geographical locations,the Ground-based and Additional science Working Group,is facilitating these *** include constructing an online sMILE Data Fusion Facility,the discussion of particular or special modes for experiments such as coherent and incoherent scatter radar,and the consideration of particular observing strategies and spacecraft *** anticipate growing interest and community engagement with the sMILE mission,and we welcome novel ideas and insights from the solar-terrestrial community.

Utility of fluid inclusion paleo-temperature in petroleum system modelling:A case study from western offshore,India

The paleo-temperature(Th)data from fluid inclusions are utilized for thermal history modelling using PetroMod ***,bottom hole temperature(BhT)and vitrinite reflectance(Ro)measurements are widely used in petroleum system modelling(PsM)in the oil industry for calibration *** representing the minimum temperature of fluid entrapment estimated from fluid-inclusion study provides extra support to build the thermal models for *** inclusion parameters along with Rock-Eval pyrolysis analysis have been used to predict the maturity of oil in terms of API gravity as well as the maturity of source rocks *** exploratory wells RV-1(Mumbai Offshore Basin)and KK4c-A-1(Kerala-Konkan Offshore Basin),India were examined and the T_(h)from most of the fluid inclusions of wells RV-1 and KK4c-A-1 fell in the oil window range of 60-140℃suggesting thermal conditions favourable for oil generation in both of the wells.T_(h)of coeval aqueous inclusions along with the hydrocarbon Fluid inclusions(hcFIs)was used to calibrate *** parameters show that source rocks of well RV-1 are mature and that of well KK4c-A-1 are *** sets of PsM are created in terms of generation and expulsion for the dry wells RV-1 and KK4c-A-1 and calibrated each well using fluid inclusion Th and *** the fluid inclusion analysis method,it is evident that hydrocarbon generation happened in both wells and the paleo-temperature indicates that the formations of both wells were subjected to temperatures in the oil window range,even though it was designated as dry wells in the present *** present study highlights the application of fluid inclusion paleo-temperature(Th)during calibration instead of commonly used *** could obtain desirable and accurate data output from PsM using T_(h) calibration.

The tensile creep deformation and damage evolution in a Ni-base superalloy at 900℃/170MPa were investigated. At the first creep stage, abnormal creep occured due to the resolution of fine particles, and the deformation initiated from grain boundary areas. It is evident that nearly all of the dislocations were in γ matrix channels in form of dislocation pairs and the dislocations were impeded at γ/γ' interfaces, thus the dislocation networks developed deformation. At the steady creep stage, impeded dislocations atγ/γ' interfaces climbed over γ' phases by diffusion-dominant mechanism. At the last creep stage, voids were formed around carbides at grain boundary which leaded to accumulated damage and caused creep rate accelerated. With the dislocation networks being broken, the voids connected and grew into micro-cracks gradually. Finally the cracks propagated along grain boundary area and resulted in failure.

catalytic transfer hydrogenation(cTh)is a green and efficient pathway for selective hydrogenation of unsaturated aldehydes and ***,managing the abilities of solid catalysts to adsorb substrates and to convert them into desired products is a challenging ***,we report the synthesis of carbon coated LaFe_(0.92)Pd_(0.08)O_(3) composites(LFPO-8@c)for cTh of benzaldehyde(Bzh)into benzyl alcohol(BzOh),using isopropanol(IPA)as hydrogen *** coating with carbon improves the ability to adsorb/transfer reactants from solution to active sites,and the doping of Pd2+at Fe3+site strengthens the ability of LaFeO_(3) to convert Bzh into BzOh.A balanced point between them(i.e.,abilities to adsorb Bzh and to convert Bzh into BzOh)is obtained at LFPO-8@c,which exhibits a BzOh formation rate of 3.88 mmol·gcat^(-1)·h^(-1) at 180℃ for 3 h,which is 1.50 and 2.72 times faster than those of LFPO-8 and LaFeO_(3)@c.A reaction mechanism is proposed,in which the acidic sites(e.g.,Fe^(4+),oxygen vacancy)are used for the activation of c=O bond of Bzh and O-h bond of IPA,and the basic sites(e.g.,lattice oxygen)for the activation ofα-h(O-h)bond of IPA.

Mathematical modeling of anaerobic digestion is a powerful tool to predict gas yields and optimize the *** Anaerobic Digestion Model No.1(ADM1)is a widely implemented model for this ***,modeling full-scale biogas plants is challenging due to the extensive substrate and parameter characterization *** study describes the modification of the ADM1 through a simplification of individual process phases,characteristic components and required ***,the ability of the simplified model to simulate the co-digestion of grass silage and cattle slurry was evaluated using data from a full-scale biogas *** impacts of substrate composition(crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration)and variability of carbohydrate degradability on simulation results were assessed to identify the most influential *** indicated that the simplified version was able to depict biogas and biomethane production with average model efficiencies,according to the Nash-sutcliffe efficiency(NsE)coefficient,of 0.70 and 0.67,respectively,and was comparable to the original ADM1(average model efficiencies of 0.71 and 0.63,respectively).The variability of crude carbohydrate,protein and lipid concentration did not significantly impact biogas and biomethane output for the data sets *** contrast,carbohydrate degradability seemed to explain much more of the variability in the biogas and methane ***,the application of simplified models provides a reliable basis for the process simulation and optimization of full-scale agricultural biogas plants.

Temperature and Thermal stress Distribution for Metal Mold in squeeze casting Process

In the squeeze casting process, loaded high pressure （over approximately 200 MPa） and high temperature influence the thermo-mechanical behavior and performance of the used metal mold. Therefore, to safely maintain the metal molds, the thermo-mechanical characteristics （temperature and thermal stress） of metal mold in the squeeze casting must be investigated. In this paper, temperature and thermal stress distribution of steel mold in squeeze casting process were investigated by using a three-dimensional non-steady heat conduction analysis and a three-dimensional thermal elastic-plastic analysis considering temperature-dependent thermophysical and mechanical properties of the steel mold.
