Plastic waste disposal has been recognized as worldwide environmental problem. Therefore, in recent years, increased attention has been paid to the recycling of synthetic polymer waste. This can contribute to solving pollution problem and the reuse of cheap and abundant waste products. The waste plastics were thermally or catalytically degraded into gases and oils which can be used as resources in fuels or chemicals. Several solid acid clay materials such as halloysite, pyrophyllite and montmorillonite are investigated for their performances in the catalytic degradation of polystyrene. The catalytic degradation of polystyrene was carried out in a semibatch reactor with a mixture of polystyrene and catalyst at 400-450℃. All the catalysts showed good catalytic activity for the degradation of PS with high selectivity to aromatic liquids. Sryrene was the major product, and ethylbenzene was the second most abundant one in the liquid product. The effects of surface acidity and catalyst structure on the degradation rate and the distribution of liquid products were discussed in this work.

文中主要研究了植物过滤系统对改善室内空气品质的作用.通过实验比较了韩国本土和外来植物对室内空气污染物的净化作用.实验在夏季进行,将4种植物放入尺寸相同的样板房间,在相同实验条件下,对放入和未放入植物的样板房间内的苯、甲苯、乙苯、二甲苯和甲醛等有害物质的浓度加以监测,同时在植物放入3小时及3天后分别测定易挥发有机物(VOCs)的浓度;由此了解、比较和估计了两种外来植物和两种本土植物对易挥发有机化合物的净化效果.结果发现:(1)在所有实验中,置入植物的房间对VOCs物质的净化效果均比未置入植物的房间的大,而且外来植物对大多数VOCs物质的净化效果比本土植物更显著;(2)在种植和生长的空间实验中,本杰明橡胶树覆盖实验空间10%时净化效果最佳,该树对甲醛的净化效果尤其明显;(3)在种植和生长的空间实验中,盆栽金皇后种植在有阳光的地方时净化效果最佳,该植物对甲苯的净化效果最强.

Retinoic acid enhances lactoferrin-induced IgA responses by increasing betaglycan expression

Lactoferrin （LF） and retinoic acid （RA） are enriched in colostrum, milk, and mucosal tissues. We recently showed that LF-induced IgA class switching through binding to betaglycan （transforming growth factor-beta receptor III, TpRIII） and activation of canonical TGF-p signaling. We investigated the combined effect of LF and RA on the overall IgA response. An increase in IgA production by LF was further augmented by RA. This combination effect was also evident in Ig germ-line α （GLa） transcription and GLa promoter activity, indicating that LF in cooperation with RA increased IgA isotype switching. We subsequently found that RA enhanced TβRIII expression and that this increase contributed to LF-stimulated IgA production. In addition to the IgA response, LF and RA in combination also enhanced the expression of the gut-homing molecules C-C chemokine receptor 9 （CCR9） and a4β7 on B cells. Finally, peroral administration of LF and RA enhanced the frequency of CCR9＋ IgA＋ plasma cells in the lamina propria. Taken together, these results suggest that LF in cooperation with RA can contribute to the establishment of gut IgA responses.

Background: Autophagy is elevated in metastatic tumors and is often associatedwith active epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). However, the extent towhich EMT is dependent on autophagy is largely unknown. This study aimed toidentify the mechanisms by which autophagy facilitates ***: We employed a liquid chromatography-based metabolomic approachwith kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene (KRAS) and liver kinase B1 (LKB1)gene co-mutated (KL) cells that represent an autophagy/EMT-coactivatedinvasive lung cancer subtype for the identification of metabolites linked to autophagy-driven EMT activation. Molecular mechanisms of autophagy-drivenEMT activation were further investigated by quantitative real-time polymerasechain reaction (qRT-PCR), Western blotting analysis, immunoprecipitation,immunofluorescence staining, and metabolite assays. The effects of chemicaland genetic perturbations on autophagic flux were assessed by two orthogonalapproaches: microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 (LC3) turnoveranalysis by Western blotting and monomeric red fluorescent protein-greenfluorescent protein (mRFP-GFP)-LC3 tandem fluorescent protein quenchingassay. Transcription factor EB (TFEB) activity was measured by coordinatedlysosomal expression and regulation (CLEAR) motif-driven luciferase reporterassay.
