Quantum key distribution(QKD)networks constitute promising solutions for secure *** conventional point-to-point QKD,we developed 1×N QKD network systems with a sub-nanosecond resolution optical path length compensation *** a practical plug-and-play QKD architecture and compact timing control modules based on a field-programmable gate array,we achieved long-term stable operation of a 1×64 QKD network *** this architecture,64 users can simultaneously share secret keys with one server,without using complex software algorithms and expensive *** demonstrated the workings of a 1×4 QKD network system using the fiber network of a metropolitan area.

International guidelines for post-cardiac arrest care recommend using multi-modal strategies to avoid the withdrawal of life-sustaining therapy(WLST)in patients with the potential for neurological recovery.[1]However,a clear methodology for multi-modal approaches has yet to be ***-specific enolase(NSE)is currently the only recommended biomarker,and the European Resuscitation Council(ERC)and the European SocietyofIntensiveCareMedicine(ESICM)have proposed a cutoff value of 60μg/L at 48 and/or 72 h after the return of spontaneous circulation(ROSC)as a multimodal prognostic tool for predicting poor neurological outcomes.

The objective of this paper is to quantify the local stabilities of the neck and upper extremities （right/left shoulders and right/left elbows）, and investigate differences between linear and nonlinear measurements of the associated joint motions and differences in the local stability between the upper and lower extremities. This attempt involves the calculation of a nonlinear parameter, Lyapunov Exponent （LE）, and a linear parameter, Range of Motion （ROM）, during treadmill walking in conj unction with a large population of healthy subjects. Joint motions of subjects were captured using a three-dimensional motion-capture system. Then mathematical chaos theory and the Rosenstein algorithm were employed to calculate LE of joints as the extent of logarithmic divergence between the neighboring state-space trajectories of flexion-extension angles. LEs computed over twenty males and twenty females were 0.037~0.023 for the neck, 0.043＋0.021 for the right shoulder, 0.045i0.030 for the left shoulder, 0.032i0.021 for the right elbow, and 0.034~0.026 for the left elbow. Although statistically significant difference in the ROM was observed between all pairs of the neck and upper extremity joints, differences in the LE between all pairs of the joints as well as between males and females were not statistically significant. Between the upper and lower extremities, LEs of the neck, shoulder, and elbow were significantly smaller than those of the hip （-0.064） and the knee （-0,062）. These results indicate that a statistical difference in the local stability between the upper extremity joints is not significant. However, the different result between the ROM and LE gives a strong rationale for applying both linear and nonlinear tools together to the evaluation of joint movement. Background: Minimally invasive surgery is becoming increasingly popular in the field of pancreatic surgery. However, there are few studies of robotic distal pancreatectomy(RDP) for pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC). This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and feasibility of RDP for PDAC. Methods: Patients who underwent RDP or laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy(LDP) for PDAC between January 2015 and September 2020 were reviewed. Propensity score matching analyses were performed. Results: Of the 335 patients included in the study, 24 underwent RDP and 311 underwent LDP. A total of 21 RDP patients were matched 1:1 with LDP patients. RDP was associated with longer operative time(209.7 vs. 163.2 min;P = 0.003), lower open conversion rate(0% vs. 4.8%;P < 0.001), higher cost(15 722 vs. 12 699 dollars;P = 0.003), and a higher rate of achievement of an R0 resection margin(90.5% vs. 61.9%;P = 0.042). However, postoperative pancreatic fistula grade B or C showed no significant intergroup difference(9.5% vs. 9.5%). The median disease-free survival(34.5 vs. 17.3 months;P = 0.588) and overall survival(37.7 vs. 21.9 months;P = 0.171) were comparable between the groups. Conclusions: RDP is associated with longer operative time, a higher cost of surgery, and a higher likelihood of achieving R0 margins than LDP.

The formation of a dynamic membrane(DM)was investigated using polyethylene glycol(PEG)(molecular weight of 35000 g/mol,concentration of 1 g/L).Two natural organic matters(NOM),Dongbok Lake NOM(DLNOM)and Suwannee River NOM(SRNOM)were used in the ultrafiltration experiments along with *** evaluate the effects of the DM with PEG on ultrafiltration,various transport experiments were conducted,and the analyses of the NOM in the membrane feed and permeate were performed using high performance size exclusion chromatography,and the effective pore size distribution(effective PSD)and effective molecular weight cut off(effective MWCO)were *** advantages of DM formed with PEG can be summarized as follows:(1)PEG interferes with NOM transmission through the ultrafiltration membrane pores by increasing the retention coefficient of NOM in UF membranes,and(2)low removal of NOM by the DM is affected by external factors,such as pressure increases during UF membrane filtration,which decreases the effective PSD and effective MWCO of UF ***,a disadvantage of the DM with PEG was severe flux decline;thus,one must be mindful of both the positive and negative influences of the DM when optimizing the UF performance of the membrane.

Randomized clinical trial of a bladder neck plication stitch during robot-assisted radical prostatectomy

Urinary incontinence after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy （RARP） is one of the most bothersome complications affecting patients＇ daily lives. The efficacy of the bladder neck plication stitch technique in promoting an earlier return of continence was prospectively evaluated in 158 patients who underwent RARP for clinically localized prostate cancer by a single surgeon at our institute from March 2012 to January 2013. Patients were randomized 1：1 to undergo surgery with （n = 79） or without （n = 79） the bladder neck plication stitch, and their time to recovery from incontinence, defined as being pad free, was compared. Recovery from incontinence at 1, 3, and 6 months were observed in 22 （27.8%）, 42 （53.2%）, and 57 （72.2%） patients, respectively, treated with, and 23 （29.1%）, 47 （59.5%）, and 59 （74.7%） patients, respectively, treated without the bladder neck plication stitch, with no significant difference in time to recovery from incontinence between the two groups. Multivariate analysis showed that age, membranous urethral length and shape of the prostatic apex on magnetic resonance imaging were independent predictors of early recovery from urinary incontinence after RARP. The Korea government has put in a lot of effort to construct sanitation facilities for controlling non-point source pollution. The first flush phenomenon is a prime example of such pollution. However, to date, several serious problems have arisen in the operation and treatment effectiveness of these facilities due to unsuitable design flow volumes and pollution loads. It is difficult to assess the optimal flow volume and pollution mass when considering both monetary and temporal limitations. The objective of this article was to characterize the discharge of storm runoff pollution from urban catchments in Korea and to estimate the probability of mass first flush （MFFn） using the storm water management model and probability density functions. As a result of the review of gauged storms for the representative using probability density function with rainfall volumes during the last two years, all the gauged storms were found to be valid representative precipitation. Both the observed MFFn and probability MFFn in BE-1 denoted similarly large magnitudes of first flush with roughly 40% of the total pollution mass contained in the first 20% of the runoff. In the case of BE-2, however, there were significant difference between the observed MFFn and probability MFFn.

Background:Endolysins,the bacteriophage-originated peptidoglycan hydrolases,are a promising replacement for antibiotics due to immediate lytic activity and no antibiotic *** objectives of this study were to investigate the lytic activity of endolysin LyJH307 against *** and to explore changes in rumen fermentation and microbiota in an in vitro *** treatments were used:1)control,corn grain without LyJH307;and 2)LyJH307,corn grain with LyJH307(4 U/mL).An in vitro fermentation experiment was performed using mixture of rumen fluid collected from two cannulated Holstein steers(450±30 kg)and artificial saliva buffer mixed as 1:3 ratio for 12 h incubation *** vitro dry matter digestibility,pH,volatile fatty acids,and lactate concentration were estimated at 12 h,and the gas production was measured at 6,9,and 12 *** rumen bacterial community was analyzed using 16S rRNA amplicon ***:LyJH307 supplementation at 6 h incubation markedly decreased the absolute abundance of ***(approximately 70% compared to control,P=0.0289)and increased ruminal pH(P=0.0335)at the 12 h *** acetate proportion(P=0.0362)was significantly increased after LyJH307 addition,whereas propionate(P=0.0379)was ***307 supplementation increased D-lactate(P=0.0340)without any change in L-lactate concentration(P>0.10).There were no significant differences in Shannon’s index,Simpson’s index,Chao1 estimates,and evenness(P>0.10).Based on Bray-Curtis dissimilarity matrices,the LyJH307 affected the overall shift in microbiota(P=0.097).LyJH307 supplementation induced an increase of 11 genera containing Lachnoclostridium,WCHB1-41,unclassified genus Selenomonadaceae,Paraprevotella,vadinBE97,Ruminococcus gauvreauii group,Lactobacillus,Anaerorhabdus furcosa group,Victivallaceae,Desulfuromonadaceae,and *** predicted functional features represented by the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes pathways were changed by LyJH307 toward a de
