Flowering is the primary stage of the plant developmental transition and is tightly regulated by environmental factors such as light and ***,the mechanisms by which temperature signals are integrated into the photoperiodic flowering pathway are still poorly ***,we demonstrate that HOS15,which is known as a GI transcriptional repressor in the photoperiodic flowering pathway,controls flowering time in response to low ambient *** 16℃,the hos15 mutant exhibits an early flowering phenotype,and HOS15 acts upstream of photoperiodic flowering genes(GI,CO,and FT).GI protein abundance is increased in the hos15 mutant and is insensitive to the proteasome inhibitor ***,the hos15 mutant has a defect in low ambient temperature-mediated GI degradation,and HOS15 interacts with COP1,an E3 ubiquitin ligase for GI *** analyses of the hos15 cop1 double mutant revealed that repression of flowering by HOS15 is dependent on COP1 at 16℃.However,the HOS15-COP1 interaction was attenuated at 16℃,and GI protein abundance was additively increased in the hos15 cop1 double mutant,indicating that HOS15 acts independently of COP1 in GI turnover at low ambient *** study proposes that HOS15 controls GI abundance through multiple modes as an E3 ubiquitin ligase and transcriptional repressor to coordinate appropriate flowering time in response to ambient environmental conditions such as temperature and day length.

Increased susceptibility of ethanol-treated gastric mucosa to naproxen and its inhibition by DA-9601, an Artemisia asiatica extract

AIM: To examine the effect of DA-9601, a new gastroprotective agent, on the vulnerability of ethanol-treated rat's stomach to naproxen (NAP). METHODS: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were pretreated with 1 mL of 50% ethanol twice a day for 5 d and then NAP (50 mg/kg) was administered. DA-9601 was administered 1 h before NAP. Four hours after NAP, the rats were killed to examine gross injury index (mm2), histo-logic change and to determine mucosal levels of malo-ndialdehyde (MDA), prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), glutathione (GSH) and myeloperoxidase (MPO). RESULTS: Pretreatment of ethanol significantly increased NAP-induced gastric lesions, as well as an increase in MDA and MPO. On the contrary, mucosal PGE2 and GSH contents were decreased dramatically by ethanol pretreatment, which were aggravated by NAP. DA-9601 significantly reduced NAP-induced gastric injury grossly and microscopically, regardless of pretreatment with ethanol. DA-9601 preserved, or rather, increased mucosal PGE2 and GSH in NAP-treated rats (P<0.05), with reduction in mucosal MDA and MPO levels. CONCLUSION: These results suggest that repeated alcohol consumption renders gastric mucosa more susceptible to NSAIDs though, at least in part, reduction of endogenous cytoprotectants including PGE2 and GSH, and increase in MPO activation, and that DA-9601, a new gastroprotectant, can reduce the increased vulnerability of ethanol consumers to NSAIDs-induced gastric damage via the mechanism in which PGE2 and GSH are involved.

To evaluate patient preferences for sildenafil citrate or tadalafil （PDE-5 inhibitors available for the treatment of erectile dysfunction [ED]） and assess potential reasons for these preferences. Methods： This open-label study was conducted on Korean men taking sildenafil, at least 6 weeks prior to study entry, for ED. Following screening, patients continued sildenafil treatment for 4 weeks, then after a 1-week washout period, switched to tadalafil for 8 weeks. Patients then continued with their treatment of choice during an extension phase. Psychosocial factors （time concern, spontaneity, sexual self-confidence） were evaluated using Psychological and Interpersonal Relation- ship Scales （PAIRS）, while timing of dose to sexual attempt patterns were assessed from patient diaries. Results： The present study enrolled 160 Korean men （mean age 55 years） with prior median sildenafil use of 585 days. During the extension phase, 73.7% of patients elected to take tadalafil, whereas 26.3% chose sildenafil （P 〈 0.001）. After switching from sildenafil to tadalafil, mean PAIRS time concern scores decreased from 2.54 to 2.42 （P = 0.002）, with no statistically significant differences observed between the sildenafil and tadalafil assessment phases in sexual spontaneity and self-confidence scores. Sexual attempts made 〉 4 h to 〈 36 h post-dose occurred in 4.5% of patients during the sildenafil assessment phase compared with 17.5% during the tadalafil assessment phase. Conclusion： After experiencing both sildenafil and tadalafil, the majority of patients exhibited a preference for tadalafil. This preference might be influenced by psychosocial factors, such as decreased time concerns, and a broader window of opportunity available for sexual activity.

Pretransplantation fetal-maternal microchimerism in pediatric liver transplantation from mother

AIM To investigate the rates of pretransplantation fetalmaternal microchimerism(MC) and its effect on rejection in children receiving maternal liver grafts. METHODS DNA or blood samples before liver transplantation(LT) were available in 45 pediatric patients and their mothers. The presence of pretransplantation MC to non-inherited maternal antigens(NIMAs)(NIMA-MC) in the peripheral blood was tested using nested PCRsingle-strand conformation polymorphism analysis for the human leukocyte antigen(HLA)-DRB1 alleles. NIMA-MC was successfully evaluated in 26 of the 45 children. Among these 45 pediatric LT recipients,23 children(51.1%) received transplants from maternal donors and the other 22 from non-maternal *** Among these 26 children,pretransplantation NIMAMC was detected in 23.1%(n = 6),6.1(range,0.8-14) years after birth. Among the children with a maternal donor,the rate of biopsy-proven cellular rejection(BPCR) was 0% in patients with NIMA-MC positivity(0/3) and those with HLA-DR identity with the mother(0/4),but it was 50% in those with NIMA-MC negativity(5/10). Patients with NIMA-MC positivity or HLA-DR identity with the mother showed significantly lower BPCR rate compared with NIMA-MC-negative patients(0% vs 50%,P = 0.04). NIMA-MC-positive patients tended to show lower BPCR rate compared with NIMAMC-negative patients(P = 0.23). CONCLUSION The presence of pretransplantation NIMA-MC or HLADR identity with the mother could be associated with BPCR-free survival in pediatric recipients of LT from maternal donors.

The problem-based learning integrated with simulation to improve nursing students’ self-efficacy

Introduction: The purposes of this study were to describe the simulation integrated with problem-based learning (SIM-PBL) module to educate the nursing process for clients with hypertension and to evaluate its effectiveness on nursing students’ self-efficacy (SE). Methods: This study was a one group pre- and post-test design. Twenty five students received a 5-hour SIM-PBL program focused on nursing care of clients with hypertension. A newly developed self-report questionnaire was used to assess SE in four areas of the nursing process with a scale of 0 (not at all confident) to 10 (totally confident). The four areas were subjective data assessment, physical examination, prioritizing nursing care and health promotion advices. Results: At baseline, students’ SE ranged from 5.5 ± 1.4 (prioritizing nursing care) to 7.6 ± 1.4 (subjective data assessment). After SIM-PBL education, all areas of nursing process presented statistically significant improvements of SE. The improvements were most noticeable in prioritizing nursing care. Conclusion: The SIM-PBL module was effective in improving the students’ self-efficacy in the nursing process for patients with hypertension. Further studies are recommended in developing SIM-PBL modules for diverse nursing topics and evaluating their effectiveness in various aspects of students’ competency.

该文研究了空间相关性对于多输入多输出空间复用(MIMO-SM)系统性能影响问题,并提出了一种适用于迭代迫零软干扰抵消接收机的天线选择算法。平坦衰落信道中,发送天线相关性将降低接收天线选择算法的性能, 该文所研究的算法采用可变的接收天线数以获得不同的接收分集,增加一定的硬件实现复杂度但可以显著减小发送天线相关性引起的误码性能下降。在2个发送天线,4个接收天线的天线配置场合,计算机仿真证实该算法在帧误码率上优于简单的行相关算法(CBM)。

BACKGROUND Few studies have been conducted on sex differences in the incidence, pathophysiology, and prognosis of gastric cancer(GC).AIM To analyze the differences in GC characteristics according to sex in patients who underwent surgical treatment for *** A total of 2983 patients diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma who received surgical treatment at the Seoul National University Bundang Hospital between 2003 and 2017 were *** clinicopathological characteristics, histologic type of GC, overall and GC-specific survival rates, and associated risk factors were *** Among the 2983 patients, 2005(67.2%) and 978(32.8%) were males and females, *** average age of the female group(59.36 years) was significantly younger than that of the male group(61.66 years;P minent in females younger than 60 years of age, with a significantly higher proportion of diffuse-type cancer than in the male *** of sex, diffuse-type GC was more common in younger patients, and the proportion of intestinal-type GC increased with *** overall survival rate was significantly higher in females(P < 0.001).However, this difference disappeared for GC-specific survival(P = 0.168), except for the poor GC-specific survival rate in advanced-stage cancer(stage Ⅲ or above) in females(P = 0.045).The risk factors for GC-related mortality were older age, upper location of GC, and diffuse-or mixed-type *** terms of comorbidities, more males died from diseases other than GC, including other malignancies such as lung cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and pancreatic cancer, and respiratory diseases such as interstitial lung disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, while there were relatively more cardiovascular or cerebrovascular deaths in *** Sex-based differences in GC were

An efficient Biginelli one-pot synthesis of new benzoxazole-substituted dihydropyrimidinones and thiones catalysed by trifluoro acetic acid under solvent-free conditions

An efficient synthesis of benzoxazole-substituted 3,4-dihydropyrimidinones （DHPMs） using trifluoro acetic acid as the catalyst for the first time from an aldehyde, 13-keto ester and benzoxazole-substituted urea/thiourea under solvent-free conditions is described. Compared to the classical Biginelli reaction conditions, this new method consistently has the advantage of excellent yields （80-91%） and short reaction time （40-130 min） at reflux temperature. 2009 M.
