Saccharomyces boulardii as a single trigger of food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome: Seven case reports

BACKGROUND Food protein-induced enterocolitis syndrome(FPIES)is the most serious type of non-immunoglobulin E(IgE)-mediated food allergic reaction manifesting as sepsis-like symptom,which can lead to *** boulardii(***),a probiotic prescribed frequently in clinical settings,has been reported to trigger FPIES in an infant with soy-triggered *** this report,we describe a new clinical FPIES in which *** was the sole triggering factor of acute FPIES adverse reaction in seven healthy *** SUMMARY Seven FPIES cases triggered by only *** were gathered from 2011 to the *** of the patients had previously experienced any allergic reaction to cow’s milk,soy,or complementary *** age of the patients was 4-10-months old,and the symptoms of FPIES developed after ingestion of ***,which is mostly prescribed for the treatment of gastroenteritis or antibiotic-associated *** patients experienced severe repetitive vomiting 1-3 hours after *** *** lethargy,marked pallor,and cyanosis were also *** IgE-mediated hypersensitivity developed in any *** was followed by initial intense vomiting in approximately 5-10 hours after *** ingestion,and only one case showed bloody,purulent,and foul-smelling *** patients stabilized quickly,mostly within 6 *** got all improved within 24 hours after discontinuation of *** *** can be the sole trigger of acute FPIES and be prescribed cautiously even in healthy children without FPIES.

In this editorial,we will discuss the article by Tang et al published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal *** explored an innovative approach to enhancing gemcitabine(GEM)delivery and efficacy using human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells(HU-BMSCs)-derived *** manufacture of GEM-loaded HU-BMSCs-derived exosomes(Exo-GEM)has been *** Tang et al’s study demonstrated that Exo-GEM exhibits enhanced cytotoxicity and apoptosis-inducing effects compared to free GEM,highlighting the potential of exosome-based drug delivery systems as a more effective and targeted approach to chemotherapy in pancreatic *** in vivo studies are required to confirm the safety and effectiveness of Exo-GEM before it can be considered for clinical use.

A critical challenge hindering the practical application of lithium–oxygen batteries(LOBs)is the inevitable problems associated with liquid electrolytes,such as evaporation and safety *** study addresses these problems by proposing a modified polyrotaxane(mPR)-based solid polymer electrolyte(SPE)design that simultaneously mitigates solvent-related problems and improves ***-SPE exhibits high ion conductivity(2.8×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)at 25℃)through aligned ion conduction pathways and provides electrode protection ability through hydrophobic chain *** this mPR-SPE into solid-state LOBs resulted in stable potentials over 300 *** situ Raman spectroscopy reveals the presence of an LiO_(2)intermediate alongside Li_(2)O_(2)during oxygen *** situ X-ray diffraction confirm the ability of the SPE to hinder the permeation of oxygen and moisture,as demonstrated by the air permeability *** present study suggests that maintaining a low residual solvent while achieving high ionic conductivity is crucial for restricting the sub-reactions of solid-state LOBs.

In recent times,future energy storage systems demand a multitude of functionalities beyond their traditional energy storage *** line with this technological shift,there is active research and development of electrochromic-energy storage systems designed to visualize electrochemical charging and discharging *** conventional electrochromic-energy storage devices primarily integrated supercapacitors,known for their high power density,to enable rapid color ***,the low energy density of supercapacitors restricts overall energy storage capacity,acting as a significant barrier to expanding the application range of such *** this review,we introduce electrochromic zinc(Zn)-ion battery systems,which effectively overcome the limitation of low energy density,and provide illustrative examples of their applicability across diverse *** many recent research works are present for electrochromic Zn-ion batteries,little review has so far taken *** objective is to discuss on the current progress and future directions for electrochromic Zn-ion batteries,which are applicable for wearable electronics applications and energy storage *** review provides an initial milestone for future researchers in electrochromic energy storage and zinc-ion batteries,which will lead to a stream of future works related to them.

In this study,by using the nonequilibrium molecular dynamics and the kinetic theory,we examine the tailored nanoscale thermal transport via a gas-filled nanogap structure with mechanically-controllable nanopillars in one surface only,i.e.,changing nanopillar *** is found that both the thermal rectification and negative differential thermal resistance(NDTR)effects can be substantially enhanced by controlling the nanopillar *** maximum thermal rectification ratio can reach 340%and the△T range with NDTR can be significantly enlarged,which can be attributed to the tailored asymmetric thermal resistance via controlled adsorption in height-changing nanopillars,especially at a large temperature *** tunable thermal rectification and NDTR mechanisms provide insights for the design of thermal management systems.

BACKGROUND Duplication of the extrahepatic bile duct(DCBD)is an extremely rare congenital anomaly of the biliary *** are five types of DCBD according to the latest *** them,Type V is characterized by single drainage of the extrahepatic bile *** on DCBD Type V are *** SUMMARY A 77-year-old woman presented with recurrent epigastric pain but without fever or *** tomography revealed a dilated common bile duct(CBD)that harboured multiple *** retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)was performed,and the stones were extracted using a Dormia *** was discharged without any complications;however,she visited the emergency department a day after she was discharged due to epigastric pain and *** findings were suggestive of *** urgent ERCP for stone removal,magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography was performed to evaluate remnant *** resonance cholangiopancreatography revealed a DCBD Type Va and remnant choledocholithiasis in the right *** CBDs were accessed,and the stones were cleared successfully during a subsequent *** In this article,we report an extremely rare case of DCBD manifesting as recurrent pyogenic *** case highlights the importance of recognizing DCBD because stones in the unrecognized bile duct could make the patient’s prognosis critical.

Fe3O4:SiO2 nanocomposite powders were synthesized by a two-step process,which included the precipitation of FeCl2 and FeCl3 and the gelation of silicic acid solution derived from water *** first,Fe3O4 nanoparticles having a crystallite size of 20 nm were obtained by controlling the ratio of Fe(II) and Fe(III) *** the second step,Fe3O4 particles were embedded in SiO2 matrix by the hydrolysis and subsequent condensation of the silicic acid solution containing Fe3O4 *** was found that the Fe3O4 nanoparticles homogenously disperse in the SiO2 *** Fe3O4:SiO2 nanocomposite exhibited an enhanced thermal stability against oxidation compared with pure ***-IR analysis indicates the presence of the Si-O-Fe bond in the Fe3O4:SiO2 (1:10,mole fraction) nanocomposite.

In the present research,two numerical schemes for improving the accuracy of the solution in the flow simulation of molten metal were *** method is the Piecewise Linear Interface Calculation(PLIC) method and the other is the Donor-Acceptor(D-A) *** verify the module of the interface reconstruction algorithms,simple problems were *** these validations,the accuracy and efficiency of these two methods were compared by simulating various real *** the numerical simulation of free surface flow,it is possible for the PLIC method to track very accurately the interface between *** PLIC method,however,has the weak point in that a lot of computational time is required,though it shows the more accurate interface *** Donor-Acceptor method has enough effectiveness in the macro-observation of a mold filling sequence though it shows inferior ***,for the problems that need the accurate solution,PLIC is more appropriate than *** accuracy may cause less efficiency in numerical *** method between D-A method and PLIC method should be chosen depends on the product.
