Endoscopic band ligation (EBL) is the preferred endoscopic technique for the endoscopic treatment of acute esophageal variceal bleeding. EBL has also been used to treat nonvariceal bleeding. Recently, Han et al demonstrated that EBL can be a feasible and safe alternate technique for the management of iatrogenic gastric perforation especially in cases in which closure with endoclips is difficult. EBL is technically simpler to perform than other methods and provides a good view of the lesions under direct pressure and suction from the transparent ligation cap. EBL can be used even if the diameter of the perforation is greater than 10 mm or if there is a severe tangential angle. In this commentary, we discuss the efficacy and safety of EBL for the closure of iatrogenic gastrointestinal perforation. We also discuss the advantages and disadvantages of EBL for the treatment of nonvariceal bleeding.

Analysis of interval constants in calendars affiliated with the Shoushili

We study interval constants that are related to motions of the Sun and Moon, i.e., the Qi, Intercalation, Revolution and Crossing interval, in calendars affiliated with the Shoushi calendar （Shoushili）, such as Datongli and Chiljeongsannaepyeon. It is known that these interval constants were newly introduced in the Shoushili calendar and revised afterward, except for the Qi interval constant, and the revised values were adopted in later calendars affiliated with the Shoushili. We first investigate the accu- racy of these interval constants and then the accuracy of calendars affiliated with the Shoushili in terms of these constants by comparing times for the new moon and the maximum solar eclipse calculated by each calendar with modem methods of calcula- tion. During our study, we found that the Qi and Intercalation interval constants used in the early Shoushili were well determined, whereas the Revolution and Crossing interval constants were relatively poorly measured. We also found that the interval constants used by the early Shoushili were better than those of the later one, and hence better than those of Datongli and Chiljeongsannaepyeon. On the other hand, we found that the early Shoushili is, in general, a worse calendar than Datongli for use in China but a better one than Chiljeongsannaepyeon for use in Korea in terms of times for the new moon and when a solar eclipse occurs, at least for the period 1281 - 1644. Finally, we verified that the times for sunrise and sunset in the Shoushili-Li-Cheng and Mingshi are those at Beijing and Nanjing, respectively.

Human intelligence tasks(HITs),such as labeling images for machine learning,are widely utilized for crowdsourcing human *** crowdsourcing platforms face challenges of a single point of failure and a lack of service *** blockchain-based crowdsourcing approaches overlook the low scalability problem of permissionless blockchains or inconveniently rely on existing ground-truth data as the root of trust in evaluating the quality of workers’*** propose a blockchain-based crowdsourcing scheme for ensuring dual fairness(i.e.,preventing false reporting and free riding)and improving on-chain efficiency concerning on-chain storage and smart contract *** proposed scheme does not rely on trusted authorities but rather depends on a public blockchain to guarantee dual *** efficient and publicly verifiable truth discovery scheme is designed based on majority voting and cryptographic *** truth discovery scheme aims at inferring ground truth from workers’*** ground truth is further utilized to estimate the quality of workers’***,a novel blockchain-based protocol is designed to further reduce on-chain costs while ensuring *** scheme has O(𝑛)complexity for both on-chain storage and smart contract computation,regardless of the number of questions,where𝑛denotes the number of *** security analysis is provided,and extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate its effectiveness and performance.

Metaverse is one of the main technologies in the daily lives of several people,such as education,tour systems,and mobile application ***,the number of users of mobile metaverse applications is increasing owing to the merit of accessibility *** provide an improved service,it is important to analyze online reviews that contain user *** previous studies have utilized traditional methods,such as the structural equation model(SEM)and technology acceptance method(TAM)for exploring user satisfaction,using limited survey *** methods may not be appropriate for analyzing the users of mobile *** overcome this limitation,several researchers perform user experience analysis through online reviews and star ***,some online reviews occasionally have inconsistencies between the star rating and the sentiment of the *** variation disturbs the performance of machine *** alleviate the inconsistencies,Valence Aware Dictionary and sEntiment Reasoner(VADER),which is a sentiment classifier based on lexicon,is *** current study aims to build a more accurate sentiment classifier based on machine learning with *** this study,five sentiment classifiers are used,such as Naïve Bayes,K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN),Logistic Regression,Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LightGBM),and Categorical boosting algorithm(Catboost)with three embedding methods(Bag-of-Words(BoW),Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency(TF-IDF),Word2Vec).The results show that classifiers that apply VADER outperform those that do not apply VADER,excluding one classifier(Logistic Regression with Word2Vec).Moreover,LightGBM with TF-IDF has the highest accuracy 88.68%among other models.

Complete mesocolic excision is a relatively new concept in western literature. It follows the same concept of total mesorectal excision and units’ routinely performing complete mesocolic excisions have good pathological results as well as good improvements in overall survival, disease free survival and local recurrence. And yet unlike total mesorectal excision, uptake in the West has been relatively slow with many units sceptical of the true benefits gained by taking up a more technically challenging and potentially more morbid procedure when there is a paucity of literature to support these claims. This article reviews complete mesocolic excision for colon cancer, attempting to identify the risks and benefits of the technique and particularly looking at the reasons why its uptake has not been universal. It also discusses the similarities of a complete mesocolic excision to a colon resection with a D3 lymphadenectomy as well as the role of a laparoscopic approach to this technique. Considering a D3 lymphadenectomy has been the standard of care for stage II and III colon cancers in many of our Asian neighbours for over 20 years, combining this data with data on complete mesocolic excision may provide enough evidence to support or refute the need for complete mesocolic excisions. Maybe there might be lessons to be learnt from our colleagues in the east.

A digraph D is oriented if it does not contain 2-cycles. If an oriented digraph D has a directed eulerian path, it is an oriented eulerian digraph. In this paper, when an oriented eulerian digraph D has minimum out-degree 2 and a diameter d, we find the minimum order of D. In addition, when D is 2-regular with diameter 4rn （m≥2）, we classify the extremal cases.

The influence of acid treatments on the surface morphology and electrochemical corrosion behavior of strip-cast AM50 and AZX310 alloys have been studied in the present *** alloys were acid treated using H_(3)PO_(4)(AT-1),HF(AT-2)and HNO3(AT-3)for different treatment durations viz.,60,300 and 600 *** acid treatments produced a surface layer consisting of corresponding magnesium salts of the acids and were confirmed from the X-ray diffraction(XRD),scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and energy dispersive X-ray analysis(EDAX).AT-1 treatment produced cracked and network porous morphology for AM50 and AZX310 alloys respectively andAT-3 treatment exhibited dense creaked surface layer formation while AT-2 does not produce any significant change in the *** studies revealed that,the acid treatment significantly altered the corrosion process by altering anodic and cathodic reaction rates of AM50 and AZX310 *** HNO3(AT-3)treatment was effective compared to other treatments to control the corrosion rate in the studied treatment *** surface morphology and chemical composition of surface layer produced during the treatment was correlated to explain the corrosion results.

In this study,the effects of Al addition on the corrosion behavior of pure Mg with controlled impurity contents were systematically analyzed according to the processing *** results revealed that the corrosion behavior of high-purity Mg-Al alloys is strongly related to changes in the microstructure,including theβphase and Al-Mn or Al-Fe phases,and the protectiveness of the surface film according to the Al content and processing *** the as-cast alloys,the corrosion rate increased due to the increase ofβphase as the Al content increased,but in the as-extruded alloys,the corrosion rate,which was high due to intermetallic compounds caused by impurities in the low Al alloy,decreased as the Al content increased,and then increased *** is due to the combined effect of the increase of theβphase and decrease of the impurity effect,and the increase of the dissolved Al *** results suggest that it is necessary to analyze the effect of alloying elements on the corrosion behavior of pure Mg with information concerning the impurity content and processing history.
