Background: There are many causes of the etiology of hypoglycemia. Hypoglycemia is very rare in individuals without diabetes. Although it can accompany islet cell malignancies such as insulinoma, it is much less common in solid organ tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma as a component of paraneoplastic syndrome. Case Presentation: We present a 58-year-old male patient with no additional disease, who was examined for resistant hypoglycemia and was diagnosed as having hepatocellular carcinoma radiologically for the first time. Insulin level measured when serum glucose was 44 mg/dl: 0.4 μU/mL, c-peptide level: 0.355 ng/mL detected. Viral serology was found to be positive for HbsAg. In dynamic magnetic resonance imaging, showing continuity in segments 6 - 7 and 8 in the right lobe, and also partially towards 5, heterogeneous hyperintense in T2 A’s, diffusion-limiting, heterogeneous contrast enhancement in postcontrast series, cystic-necrotic in the center. The alpha-fetoprotein level was 60,500 ng/mL. Conclusion: Paraneoplastic hypoglycemia due to underlying malignancies should be considered in patients presenting with hypoglycemia.

Fires have a noteworthy role to play with regards to ecological and environmental losses in Mediterranean forests. In addition to ecological impacts, fire may create economic, social as well as cultural changes. The detection of fire-scars has critical importance to help decrease *** the present study, forest fires recorded in Antalya, one of the most important ecological and tourist regions within the Western Mediterranean, were clustered and mapped. Since the dominant factors and devastation records derived from the cases had nominal-scaled properties, a categorical databased nonparametric clustering algorithm was performed in this evaluation. The proposed tool, k-modes algorithm,uses modes instead of means for clustering. The algorithm may be implemented quickly and does not make distributional assumptions concerning the available data. It uses a frequency-based method to update the modes of the *** derived modes from the maps may be useful information for local authorities to manage. In conclusion, the proposed nonparametric clustering procedure may be employed to build a decision-support system to monitor and identify fire activities and to enhance fire management efficiency.

Characterization of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) collection using quantitative and qualitative traits in the Mediterranean Basin

This study was conducted to determine the genetic diversity and relationship among 256 groundnut genotypes of which 132 belong to subsp, hypogaea （Arachis hypogaea L.） and 124 to subsp, fastigiata （Arachis fastigiata L.）. The collection was evaluated for eight quantitative and five qualitative traits during three consecutive years under Mediterranean climate conditions. Coefficient of variation （CV） significantly differed among the genotypes for all the studied quantitative traits ranged from 9.10 to 33.98%, while the highest CV was recorded for seed yield. The subspecies of hypogaea and fastigiata displayed significant differences for quantitative traits except for numbers of pods per plant and seed yield. Principal com- ponent analyses showed that the first three principal components accounted for 68.14% variation for quantitative traits. Major traits that accounted for the variation by the three principal components （PCs） include days to the first flowering, days to 50% flowering, number of pods per plant and shelling percentage. The groundnut collection also offers wide seed coat color diversity which affects the crop marketability. The information on variations in quantitative and qualitative traits identified in the present investigation provided useful genotypes which would be serving parents. These parental genotypes can be used in groundnut breeding programs to develop desirable cultivars in Mediterranean Basin and globally.

在任何工业原料场地特征的研究中,对水泥原材料进行岩性评价的研究均包括其物理特征、粒度和化学组成的相关描述。为了按照要求规格提供水泥组分,需要对水泥原料坑进行分类。采用监督模式识别分析法在采石场阶段的空间系统中进行识别。通过使用四种识别分析算法,基于主要化学成分如氧化钙(CaO)、氧化铝(Al_2O_3)、二氧化硅(SiO_2)和铁(Fe_2O_3),在石灰石,泥灰质石灰岩(钙质泥灰岩)和泥灰岩三个层面进行岩性分类。结果表明:识别算法可以作为水泥采石场识别中的强分类器,而且该条件和混合分类器比传统的识别算法效果更好。

AIM: The mechanism of tramadol-induced vasodilation was investigated using isolated rabbit thoracic aortic rings. METHODS: Aortic rings from 8 rabbits were placed in organ bath and precontracted with phenylephrine(10-5mol/L) before addition of tramadol. Relaxation responses by tramadol were evaluated in the presence and absence of endothelium, indomethacin （an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase）, NG-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester （L-NAME, a specific inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase）, glibenclamide （an inhibitor of ATP-sensitive potassium channels）, tetraethylammonium chloride （TEA, an inhibitor of calcium-sensitive potassium channels）, and naloxone （an antagonist of opioid receptors）. RESULTS: Tramadol(10-4mol/L and 3×10-4mol/L) caused significant vasodilation in endothelium-intact and endothelium-denuded aortic rings （P<0.05）.
