从第十三届国际沉积学大会已发表的论文和展板的内容来看,层序地层学和储层沉积学是近些年来最引人注目的两个研究方向,并取得较大的或突破性的进展。储层沉积学是为成功地进行油田开发和进一步提高采收率而发展起来的一个新的研究方向。目前其研究重点是集中在建立符合实际的,精细的、三维定量储层地质模型。本刊摘登了其中部分有代表性的论文摘要,试图对其进展作一概略性介绍。

Inflammatory bowel disease(IBd) is a chronic intestinal illness of autoimmune origin affecting millions across the globe. The most common subtypes include ulcerative colitis(UC) and Crohn's disease. While many medical treatments for IBd exist,none come without the risk of significant immunosuppression and in general do not have benign side effect profiles. Surgical intervention exists only as radical resection for medically refractory UC. There exists a dire need for novel treatments that target the inherent pathophysiologic disturbances of IBd,rather than global immune suppression. One avenue of investigation that could provide such an agent is the interaction between certain dietary elements and the aryl hydrocarbon receptor(AHR). The AHR is a cytosolic transcription factor with a rich history in environmental toxicant handling,however,recently a role has emerged for the AHR as a modulator of the gastrointestinal immune system. Studies have come to elucidate these effects to include the enhancement of Th cell subset differentiation,interactions between enteric flora and the luminal wall,and modulation of inflammatory interleukin and cytokine signaling. This review highlights advancements in our understanding of AHR activity in the digestive tract and how this stimulation may be wrought by certain dietary "micronutriceuticals",namely indole-3-carbinol(I3C) and its derivatives. Greater clarity surrounding these dynamics could lead to a novel diet-derived agonist of the AHR which is not only non-toxic,but also efficacious in the amelioration of clinical IBd.

Re-Os radiometric dating of crude oil can be used to constrain the timing of hydrocarbon generation,migration or *** approach has been successfully applied to marine petroleum systems;however,this study reports on its application to lacustrine-sourced natural crude *** s amples from multiple wells producing from the Cretaceous Nantun Formation in the Wuerxun-Beier depression of the Hailar Basin in NE China were *** of the Re-Os data are compatible with a Cretaceous hydrocarbon generation event(131.1±8.4 Ma)occurring within 10 Myr of deposition of the Nantun Formation source *** addition,two younger age trends of 54±12 Ma and 1.28±0.69 Ma can be regressed from the Re-Os data,which may reflect the timing of subsequent hydrocarbon generation *** Re-Os geochronometer,when combined with complementary age dating techniques,can provide direct temporal constraints on the evolution of petroleum system in a terrestrial basin.

AIM To determine the scope of acute hypoglycemic effects for certain anti-rheumatic medications in a large retrospective observational study. METHOdS Patients enrolled in the Veterans Affairs Rheumatoid Arthritis (VARA) registry were selected who, during follow-up, initiated treatment with tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi's, including etanercept, adalimumab, infliximab, golimumab, or certolizumab), prednisone, or conventional disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs(dMARds), and for whom proximate random blood glucose (RBG) measurements were available within a window 2-wk prior to, and 6 mo following, medication initiation. Similar data were obtained for patients with proximate values available for glycosylated hemoglobin A1C values within a window 2 mo preceding, and 12 mo following, medication initiation. RBG and A1C measurements were compared before and after initiation events using paired t-tests, and multivariate regression analysis was performed including established comorbidities and *** Two thousands one hundred and eleven patients contributed at least one proximate measurement surrounding the initiation of any examined medication. A significant decrease in RBG was noted surrounding 653 individual hydroxychloroquine-initiation events(-3.68 mg/dL, P = 0.04), while an increase was noted for RBG surrounding 665 prednisone-initiation events(+5.85 mg/d L, P decrease in A1C was noted for sulfasalazine initiation, as measured by 49 individual initiation events(-0.70%, P d hydroxychloroquine(β =-5.78, P = 0.01) use as predictors of lower post-medicationinitiation RBG and A1C values, respectively. Analysis by drug class suggested prednisone (or glucocorticoids) as predictive of higher medication-initiation event RBG among all start events as compared to dMARds, while this analysis did not

The intent of this paper is to conceptualize physical literacy in the school environment within the United States educational system. Evolution of physical literacy from both a general education and disciplinary focus is overviewed. The challenges of transitioning from a physically educated to a physically literate person as the primary learning outcome of physical education may inhibit progress. Five prioritized recom- mendations are made to assist teachers in overcoming such barriers：（a） whole of school approach, （b） effective, differentiated pedagogy, （c） integration of technology for individualized tracking of progress, （d） supportive school climate, and （e） alignment of local efforts with national initiatives.

The pre-edges of oxygen-K X-ray absorption spectra have been ubiquitous in transition metal(TM)oxide studies in various fields,especially on the fervent topic of oxygen redox states in battery ***,critical debates remain on the use of the O-K pre-edge variations upon electrochemical cycling as evidences of oxygen redox reactions,which has been a popular practice in the battery *** study presents an investigation of the O-K pre-edge of 55 oxides covering all 3d TMs with different elements,structures,and electrochemical states through combined experimental and theoretical *** is shown unambiguously that the O-K pre-edge variation in battery cathodes is dominated by changing TM-d ***,the pre-edge enables a unique opportunity to project the lowest unoccupied TM-d states onto one common energy window,leading to a summary map of the relative energy positions of the low-lying TM states,with higher TM oxidation states at lower energies,corresponding to higher electrochemical *** results naturally clarify some unusual redox reactions,such as Cr^(3+/6+).This work provides a critical clarification on O-K pre-edge interpretation and more importantly a benchmark database of O-K pre-edge for characterizing redox reactions in batteries and other energy materials.

Effects of Spent Craft Brewers’ Yeast on Fermentation and Methane Production by Rumen Microorganisms

Saccharomyces cerevisiae is a key component of beer brewing and a major by-product. The leftover, spent brewers’ yeast from large breweries has been used as a protein supplement in cattle;however the possible advantages of spent yeast from smaller craft breweries, containing much higher levels of bioactive hop acids, have not been evaluated. Hops secondary metabolites from the hops (Humulus lupulus L.) used to make beer are concentrated in the yeast during brewing, and have antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Uncultivated suspensions of bovine rumen microorganisms produced less methane during fructose fermentation when exposed to inactivated, and freeze-dried spent craft brewers’ yeast than a bakers’ yeast control. The experiment was repeated with caprine rumen microorganisms and ground grass hay as the substrate. Likewise, in the presence of craft brewers’ yeast less methane was produced (2.7% vs. 6.9% CH4). Both experiments also revealed a decrease in acetic acid production, but not propionic acid production, when craft brewers’ yeast was included. These results indicated that spent yeast could represent a co-product for craft breweries, and a feed supplement for ruminants that has a favorable impact on methane production.
