Objective:To rep.rt the clinical maternal and fetal outcomes of p.egnant women with coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),along with any associated p.egnancy comp.ications,in Hong Kong,China,and to assess the imp.ct of COVID-19 vaccination on these ***:This p.osp.ctive registry-based observational study included p.egnant women who were recruited through convenient samp.ing and had a laboratory-confirmed severe acute resp.ratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection with a cycle threshold(Ct)value result available on admission to eight local hosp.tals in Hong Kong,*** on clinical symp.oms,laboratory results,medical treatments,delivery timing and mode,and p.egnancy comp.ications were extracted from the Hosp.tal Authority’s electronic medical record ***,fetal,and p.egnancy outcomes were comp.red between unvaccinated p.egnant women with COVID-19 and those who had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine before *** continuous variables and categorical variables were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test and the p.arson’s chi-squared test resp.ctively.A p.value less than 0.05 was considered statistically ***:A total of 164 p.egnant women were included,of whom 78(47.56%)were ***-19 was diagnosed before 28 weeks’gestation in 30(18.29%),while 134(81.71%)were diagnosed at or after 28 weeks’***-two(37.80%)women received at least one dose of COVID-19 *** were no significant differences between vaccinated and unvaccinated group. in the time interval between COVID-19 diagnosis and delivery,the Ct value,and the gestational age at infection onset or delivery(p.0.05).The majority of women were symp.omatic at diagnosis regardless of vaccination status 55(88.71%)in vaccinated group.vs.78(76.47%)in unvaccinated group.p.0.052).Symp.oms did not significantly differ between group. excep. for cough(62.90%vs.47.06%,p.0.049).The overall rate of severe COVID-19 in p.egnant women was *** t

香港特区非华语学生在使用中文学习其他科目时面临着学科和语言的双重障碍。对非华语学生而言,中文是他们的第二语言或外语,如果中文欠佳,势必影响学科知识的学习。本研究采用“内容与语言整合学习”的4Cs模式,为香港地区的非华语小学三年级学生设计了一套融合常识科内容的中文学习材料和框架,聚焦于小学常识科的六大学习范畴,展开跨学科协作模式,统整学科与中文作为第二语言的学习内容。创新的“中文+常识”课程旨在融合学科教育来提升学生中文水平,同时透过针对性语言教学深化学科知识的掌握。本研究的意义在于,首先让香港非华语中文教学突破单一的语言课堂,平衡“目标语言”和“工具语言”的教学,增强学生通过中文学习常识等其他学科的能力﹔其次,亦希望本课题可以抛砖引玉,为国际中文教育中“中文+其他学科”的教学模式提供香港地区经验。

As the most common internal modification of mRNA,Ne-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)and its regulators modulate gene exp.ession and p.ay critical roles in various biological and p.tholog-ical p.ocesses including *** was rep.rted p.eviously that m^(6)A methyltransferase(writer),methyltransferase-like 3(METTL3)adds m^(6)A in p.imary microRNAs(p.i-miRNAs)and fa-cilitates its p.ocessing into p.ecursor miRNAs(p.e-miRNAs).However,it is unknown whether m^(6)A modification also p.ays a role in the maturation p.ocess of p.e-miRNAs and(if so)whether such a function contributes to ***,we found that YTHDF2 is aberrantly overexp.essed in acute myeloid leukemia(AML)p.tients,esp.cially in relap.ed p.tients,and p.ays an onco-genic role in ***,YTHDF2 p.omotes exp.ession of miR-126-3p.also known as miR-126,as it is the main p.oduct of p.ecursor miR-126(p.e-miR-126)),a miRNA that was rep.rted as an oncomiRNA in AML,through facilitating the p.ocessing of p.e-miR-126 into mature ***,YTHDF2 recognizes m^(6)A modification in p.e-miR-126 and recruits AGO2,a regulator of p.e-miRNA p.ocessing,to p.omote the maturation of ***2 p.si-tively and negatively correlates with miR-126 and miR-126's downstream target genes,resp.c-tively,in AML p.tients,and forced exp.ession of miR-126 could largely rescue YTHDF2/Ythdf2 dep.etion-mediated sup.ression on AML cell growth/p.oliferation and leukemogenesis,indi-cating that miR-126 is a functionally imp.rtant target of YTHDF2 in ***,our studies not only reveal a p.eviously unap.reciated YTHDF2/miR-126 axis in AML and highlight the ther-ap.utic p.tential of targeting this axis for AML treatment,but also suggest that m^(6)A p.ays a role in p.e-miRNA p.ocessing that contributes to tumorigenesis.

Objective:To investigate the interrelationship.between cardiovascular health awareness,risk p.rcep.ion,behavioural intention,and INTERHEART risk stratification in a middle-aged adult p.p.lation in ***:A cross-sectional survey with convenience samp.ing was conducted during November 2022 and January *** comp.eted validated questionnaires assessing cardiovascular health awareness,risk p.rcep.ion of cardiovascular diseases,behavioural intention towards adop.ing healthy habits,and INTERHEART risk stratification score(IHRS)based on established risk factors.A total of 602 resp.ndents were included in the final *** were analysed with indep.ndent t-test/one-way ANOVA or Mann-Whitney/Kruskal-Wallis to test the differences,p.arson correlation or linear regression test to analyze the association of indep.ndent and dep.ndent ***:There was a significant p.sitive correlation between medical knowledge related to cardiovascular disease(CVD)and knowledge related to CVD risk p.evention,risk p.rcep.ion,behavioural intention and IHRS(p.0.05,p.arson correlation).Notably,individuals with higher IHRS tended to have lower knowledge related to CVD and CVD risk p.evention,risk p.rcep.ion,and behavioural ***,laborers,active/former smokers,individuals with lower household income and educational levels,those involved in occup.tions not related to the healthcare sector,and those who did not receive the CVD health brochure or are unaware of health self-assessment tools are likely to have lower levels of knowledge,risk p.rcep.ion,and p.orer behavioural intention regarding cardiovascular health(p.0.05,one-way ANOVA).While educational level,smoking status,awareness about CVD p.ster,self-assessment tools were rep.atedly significantly associated with knowledge related to CVD and CVD risk p.evention,risk p.rcep.ion,behavioral intention and/or IHRS(p.0.05,linear regression).Conclusions:These findings underscore the imp.rtance of p.omoting car

Atomic evolutions in a single atom laser system are studied for different p.ep.rations of the initial atomic state and cavity field. Both the analytical and the numerical results are in very good agreement with the exp.riment carried out by Brune et al. [p.ys. Rev. Lett. 76 (1996) 1800], if we choose the same p.rameters as the exp.riment. The research justified that the sp.ntaneous emission rates are enhanced in the high-Q cavity.

Effect of terrain and building structures on the airflow in an airp.rt

The aim of this study was to p.rform comp.tational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations on the airflows at the Hong Kong International Airp.rt (HKIA). In p.rticular, the effects of hangar buildings and terrain were studied to exp.ore the effects of turbulence on flying aircraft, esp.cially during landing. The CFD simulation showed that significant differences in wind sp.eds may occur between the north and the south runways on the western p.rt of the HKIA under typ.oon conditions with a strong north to northwesterly wind. Simulation also showed that the hanger buildings between the two runways on the western side and the nearby terrain could be causing the observed difference in the wind sp.eds. The results also indicated that these obstacles could cause significant wind sp.ed variations at the western end of the south runway. This may affect the op.ration of landing aircraft. The CFD results for a typ.cal typ.oon case were analyzed and found to match the wind data recorded by an aircraft landing that day.

House mice(Mus musculus domesticus Schwarz&Schwarz,1943)are monitored in Australia and China to track changes in mouse p.p.lation densities and forecast their p.tential damage to cereal *** p.esent study comp.red p.p.lation indices based on the number of different mice caught and overall trap.success from live-trap.ing with an oil card index(OC)and a tracking index(T)for monitoring mice in sorghum crop. immediately before crop.maturation.T was measured as the p.rcentage of track board covered with mouse footp.ints night-1,and OC as the p.rcentage of card removed by mice *** reliability of these abundance indices was quantified by p.arson correlation coefficient with the trap.able p.p.lation size(Ñ),which was estimated by cap.ure-recap.ure over eight consecutive nights on 175×5 trap.ing grids,in sorghum crop. on two p.op.rties on the Darling Downs,*** of differences among individual mice in cap.ure p.obability,Model Mh of p.ogram MARK was used to account for such heterogeneity and to estimate the size of each mouse *** number of individual animals caught was more strongly correlated withÑthan trap.success and,therefore,might be a more reliable index;the data suggest that three trap.ing occasions p.ovide op.imal p.ecision for this index.T correlated significantly withÑonly at sites where the canop. of sorghum p.ants was closed,and its use should,therefore,be restricted to this *** did not correlate withÑbecause none or very little of the cards was eaten at low to moderate mouse densities.T and the number of animals caught over three trap.ing nights are recommended for monitoring mice in sorghum crop. immediately p.ior to crop.maturation.

A biosynthetic gene cluster for the bioactive fungal sesterterp.noids variecolin(1)and variecolactone(2)was identified in Asp.rgillus aculeatus ATCC *** p.oduction of 1 and 2 was achieved in Asp.rgillus oryzae by exp.essing the sesterterp.ne synthase VrcA and the cytochrome p.50 ***,the rep.acement of VrcB with homologous p.50s from other fungal terp.noid p.thways yielded three new variecolin analogues(5-7).Analysis of the comp.unds’anticancer activity in vitro and in vivo revealed that although 5 and 1 had comp.rable activities,5 was associated with significantly reduced toxic side effects in cancer-bearing mice,indicating its p.tentially broader therap.utic *** study describes the first tests of variecolin and its analogues in animals and demonstrates the utility of synthetic biology for creating molecules with imp.oved biological activities.
