This letter proposes a novel hybrid component and configuration model for combined-cycle gas turbines(CCGTs) participating in independent system operator(ISO) markets. The proposed model overcomes the inaccuracy issues in the current configuration-based model while retaining its simple and flexible bidding framework of configuration-based models. The physical limitations—such as minimum online/offline time and ramping rates—are modeled for each component separately, and the cost is calculated with the bidding curves from the configuration modes. This hybrid mode can represent the current dominant bidding model in the unit commitment problem of ISOs while treating the individual components in CCGTs accurately. The commitment status of the individual components is mapped to the unique configuration mode of the CCGTs. The transitions from one configuration mode to another are also modeled. No additional binary variables are added, and numerical case studies demonstrate the effectiveness of this model for CCGT units in the unit commitment problem.

This paper proposes an adjustable and distributionally robust chance-constrained(ADRCC) optimal power flow(OPF) model for economic dispatch considering wind power forecasting uncertainty. The proposed ADRCC-OPF model is distributionally robust because the uncertainties of the wind power forecasting are represented only by their first-and second-order moments instead of a specific distribution assumption. The proposed model is adjustable because it is formulated as a second-order cone programming(SOCP) model with an adjustable *** coefficient can control the robustness of the chance constraints, which may be set up for the Gaussian distribution, symmetrically distributional robustness, or distributionally robust cases considering wind forecasting uncertainty. The conservativeness of the ADRCC-OPF model is analyzed and compared with the actual distribution data of wind forecasting error. The system operators can choose an appropriate adjustable coefficient to tradeoff between the economics and system security.

Recent years, we have seen the development of many fields of gas detectors. The MICROMEGAS (Micro-Mesh Gas Structure) appeared as the very promising detector. It is a major family of position detectors in High Energy Physics. This work is done in normal (NTP) based gas mixtures: neon are noble gas and isobutane and DME (dimethyl-ether) as moderators gas (quenchers), using 55Fe as a radiation source (X-ray 5.9 keV). To address the modeling of MICROMEGAS detector, a descriptive model of different physical and geometrical phenomena MICROMEGAS was established by developing a simulation program to spreading the detector response. After, an analytical calculation of the potential and the electric field distributions has been presented briefly, to better estimate electrical and geometric configuration. Finally, simulation results of electrical signals based on gas mixtures (Neon-isobutane, Neon-DME) produced by MICROMEGAS were presented and analyzed in order to improve the MICROMEGAS performance (spatial (12 μm) and temporal (0.7 ns) resolutions).

Three dual-mode band-pass filters are presented in the present paper. The first filter is realized by dual-mode substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity;the second is based on the integration of SIW cavity with electromagnetic band gap (EBG);and the third is based on the integration of SIW cavity with complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). The dual-mode SIW cavity is designed to have a fractional bandwidth of 4.95% at the midband frequency of 9.08 GHz;the proposed EBG-SIW resonator operates at 9.12 GHz with a bandwidth of 4.38% and the CSRR-SIW resonator operates at 8.66 GHz with a bandwidth of 2.54%. The proposed filters have the high Q-factors and generate a transmission zero in upper stopband, and these by the use of Rogers RT/duriod 5880 (tm).

Vanadium nitride （VN） was deposited by DC-sputtering on a vertically aligned carbon nanotube （CNTs） template for the purpose of nano-structuration. This led to the fabrication of hierarchically composite electrodes consisting of porous and nanostructured VN grown on vertically aligned CNTs in a nano-treelike configuration for micro-supercapacitor application. The electrodes show excellent performance with an areal capacitance as high as 37.5 mF cm^-2 at a scan rate of 2 mV s^-1 in a 0.5 M K2504 mild electrolyte solution. Furthermore, the capacitance decay was only 15% after 20,000 consecutive cycles. Moreover, the capacitance was found to increase with VN deposit thickness. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analyses of the electrodes before and after cycling suggest that the oxide layers that form at the VN surface is the responsible for the redox energy storage in this material. Such electrodes can compete with other transition metal nitride based electrodes for micro-supercapacitors.

In this work, we are interested in conducting a technological research on the use of the renewable energy, particularly the “photovoltaic” to achieve a complete system for the controlled production of energy. In fact, we talked about the different types of renewable energy and their importance to the economic sector;photovoltaic cells and its operating principle, modeling, current-voltage characteristics and the influence of parameters on the performance of energy that makes us think to make followers continued to enjoy the maximum of energy. In this work, we conduct a study of modeling and simulation of a system in the context of renewable energy in general, and solar system “photovoltaic” in particular;also, the optimizing system adapted by DC-DC converters static. Then the influence of temperature and irradiance on the optimal parameters (Power of MPP, VMPP, ...) of a solar system is analyzed in a way to operate a PV generator at its maximum power. This system includes a photovoltaic generator, “Boost & Buck”, converter and a load. Modeling and simulation system (solar panel, DC-DC converter command and load) is obtained through Matlab-Simulink software.

The mobile communication (radio, mobile, satellite telephony…) insert band filters which are required to comply with stringent pass-band characteristics concerning the selectivity, the group delay, the insertion losses and the mass and volume. The mass and volume of payload electronic equipment is a significant contributor to the overall cost of space systems. Within this framework, many improvements were made in the design of filters and multiplexers which represent a considerable portion of the overall satellite payload. The High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) planar technology permits to realize compact size filtering devices. Moreover, it could also provide a superior performance not attainable by any other technology. However, not controllable parameters in the manufacturing processes (indistinctness of the engraving, the not uniformity of substratum thickness) do not allow to obtain a precision on the echo’s frequency and to keep a high quality factor. So, it is necessary to use method to tune the center frequency of filters after the fabrication or to study new resonator topologies which present lower sensitivity to LAIO3 substrate thickness. This last point is the object of this article.
