Density functional theory calculations have been performed to investigate the structural, electronic, and cO2adsorption properties of 55-atom bimetallic cu Ni nanoparticles（NPs） in core-shell and decorated architectures,as well as of their monometallic counterparts. Our results revealed that with respect to the monometallic cu55and Ni55parents, the formation of decorated cu12Ni43and core-shell cu42Ni13are energetically favorable. We found that cO2chemisorbs on monometallic Ni55, core-shell cu13Ni42, and decorated cu12Ni43and cu43Ni12,whereas, it physisorbs on monometallic cu55and core-shell cu42Ni13. The presence of surface Ni on the NPs is key in strongly adsorbing and activating the cO2molecule（linear to bent transition and elongation of c=O bonds）. This activation occurs through a charge transfer from the NPs to the cO2molecule, where the local metal d-orbital density localization on surface Ni plays a pivotal role. This work identifies insightful structureproperty relationships for cO2activation and highlights the importance of keeping a balance between NP stability and cO2adsorption behavior in designing catalytic bimetallic NPs that activate cO2.

Pancreatic cystic lesions(PcLs)are becoming more prevalent due to more frequent abdominal imaging and the increasing age of the general *** has become crucial to identify these PcLs and subsequently risk stratify them to guide *** the high morbidity associated with pancreatic surgery,only those PcLs at high risk for malignancy should undergo such ***,current diagnostic testing is suboptimal at accurately diagnosing and risk stratifying ***,research has focused on developing new techniques for differentiating mucinous from non-mucinous PcLs and identifying high risk lesions for *** sectional imaging radiomics can potentially improve the predictive accuracy of primary risk stratification of PcLs at the time of detection to guide invasive *** cyst fluid glucose has reemerged as a potential biomarker,cyst fluid molecular markers have improved accuracy for identifying specific types of *** ultrasound guided approaches such as confocal laser endomicroscopy and through the needle microforceps biopsy have shown a good correlation with histopathological findings and are evolving techniques for identifying and risk stratifying *** most of these recent diagnostics are only practiced at selective tertiary care centers,they hold a promise that management of PcLs will only get better in the future.

IN718 alloy was fabricated by laser powder bed fusion(PBF) for examination of microstructure, precipitates and mechanical properties in the as-built state and after different heat treatments. The as-built alloy had a characteristic fine cellular-dendritic microstructure with Nb, Mo and Ti segregated along the interdendritic region and cellular boundary. The as-built alloys were then subjected to solution heat treatment(SHT) at 980°c or 1065°c for 1 h. SHT at 980°c led to the formation of δ-phase in the interdendritic region or cellular boundary. The segregation was completely removed by the SHT at 1065°c, but recrystallization was observed, and the carbides decorated along the grain boundaries. The as-built alloy and alloys with SHT at 980°c and 1065°c were two-step aged, which consisted of annealing at 720°c for8 h followed by annealing at 620°c for 8 h. Transmission electron microscopy revealed the precipitation of λ’ and λ" in all alloys after two-step aging, but the amount and uniformity of distribution varied. The Vickers hardness of the PBF IN718 alloy increased from 296 HV to 467 HV after direct aging. The hardness decreased to 267 HV and 235 HV after SHT at 980°c and 1065°c, respectively, but increased to 458 HV and 477 HV followed by aging. The evolution of Young’s modulus after heat treatment exhibited similar trend to that of hardness. The highest hardness was observed for IN718 after SHT at 1065°c and two-step aging due to precipitation with greater amount and uniform distribution.

Graph neural networks are attractive for learning properties of atomic structures thanks to their intuitive graph encoding of atoms and ***,conventional encoding does not include angular information,which is critical for describing atomic arrangements in disordered *** this work,we extend the recently proposed ALIGNN(Atomistic Line Graph Neural Network)encoding,which incorporates bond angles,to also include dihedral angles(ALIGNN-d).This simple extension leads to a memory-efficient graph representation that captures the complete geometry of atomic ***-d is applied to predict the infrared optical response of dynamically disordered cu(II)aqua complexes,leveraging the intrinsic interpretability to elucidate the relative contributions of individual structural *** and dihedral angles are found to be critical contributors to the fine structure of the absorption response,with distortions that represent transitions between more common geometries exhibiting the strongest absorption *** directions for further development of ALIGNN-d are discussed.

computational catalysis is playing an increasingly significant role in the design of catalysts across a wide range of applications.A common task for many computational methods is the need to accurately compute the adsorption energy for an adsorbate and a catalyst surface of ***,the identification of low-energy adsorbate-surface configurations relies on heuristic methods and researcher *** the desire to perform high-throughput screening increases,it becomes challenging to use heuristics and intuition *** this paper,we demonstrate machine learning potentials can be leveraged to identify low-energy adsorbate-surface configurations more accurately and *** algorithm provides a spectrum of trade-offs between accuracy and efficiency,with one balanced option finding the lowest energy configuration 87.36%of the time,while achieving a~2000×speedup in *** standardize benchmarking,we introduce the Open catalyst Dense dataset containing nearly 1000 diverse surfaces and~100,000 unique configurations.
