China's exports experienced a rapid recovery after the outbreak of the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic.A primary engine was cross-border e-commerce(CBEC)trade,which bucked the downward export trend during the *** exploring the variation in the number of CBEC comprehensive pilot zones across provinces,we identified the causal impact of CBEC on exports using monthly province-product-destination data for 2019 and *** found strong and robust evidence that CBEC contributed to exports during the pandemic by promoting the expansion of incumbent exports(intensive margin)rather than through the expansion of product categories and exporting partners(extensive margin).specifically,higher pandemic risk suppressed the role of CBEC at the intensive margin while enhancing it at the extensive *** to developed countries benefited more from CBEC,both intensively and *** with final products,a larger number of intermediate products were exported through CBEC after the outbreak of the pandemic.

All human languages have words that can mean different things in different contexts, such words with multiple meanings are potentially “ambiguous”. The process of “deciding which of several meanings of a term is intended in a given context” is known as “word sense disambiguation (WsD)”. This paper presents a method of WsD that assigns a target word the sense that is most related to the senses of its neighbor words. We explore the use of measures of relatedness between word senses based on a novel hybrid approach. First, we investigate how to “literally” and “regularly” express a “concept”. We apply set algebra to WordNet’s synsets cooperating with WordNet’s word ontology. In this way we establish regular rules for constructing various representations (lexical notations) of a concept using Boolean operators and word forms in various synset(s) defined in WordNet. Then we establish a formal mechanism for quantifying and estimating the semantic relatedness between concepts—we facilitate “concept distribution statistics” to determine the degree of semantic relatedness between two lexically expressed con- cepts. The experimental results showed good performance on semcor, a subset of Brown corpus. We observe that measures of semantic relatedness are useful sources of information for WsD.

The global COVID-19 pandemic caused various economic contraction in most countries,including all of China’s major trading *** a difference-in-differences model,this study examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on China’s monthly exports from January 2019 to May *** find strong and robust evidence that China’s exports to countries at high risk from the pandemic experienced a larger decline than exports to low-risk countries after the onset of the pandemic,with the prices of exports increasing ***,the results of a triple differences model show heterogeneous effects across different industries and *** industries located upstream in the global value chain are more vulnerable than those located *** with high labor and contract intensity(proxies for processing trade)experienced greater declines than other *** of goods with high import elasticity of substitution experienced higher prices and moderate volume losses due to the pandemic.

Liquid film flow widely exists in industries due to its high thermal film is strongly influenced by the properties of the working surface efficiency and low flow flux. The spreading of the liquid A biomimetic surface with multi-scale structures inspired by the skin of a dog＇s tongue is proposed in this paper for the enhancement of heat and mass transfer. The spreading and flow behaviors of a gravity-driven liquid falling down the pre-wetted biomimetic surface are compared with that on the smooth sur- faces, via the combination of numerical simulations using the volume of fluid （VOF） method, and experimental measurements using high-speed imaging. On the pre-wetted smooth substrate, liquid merges with two droplets before the free surface of the liquid slowly develops into a parabolic shape. In contrast, on the biomimetic surface, liquid rapidly and uniformly spreads into a thin film which could effectively enhance mass transfer in both spanwise and streamwise directions. The characteristics and distribution of the microstructures on the proposed biomimetic surface are potentially to be used to guide the design of the surface in high efficiency heat exchangers and reactors.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)is a progressive neurodegenerative disease with a complex *** main neu-ropathological feature is the accumulation of amyloid-beta(Aβ),and the dysregulation of the cholinergic system is well associated with its mechanism of occurrence,for which no effective treatment is yet *** oral administration remains the mainstay of treatment with AD,and how to improve the efficacy,prolong adsorp-tion and medication compliance is still the focus of the current *** proposed a microcapsule based on microfluidic electrospray to form an intestinal epithelial lining for AD treatment,reducing the frequency of *** electrospray technology was recruited to overcome the limitations associated with the variability in the microencapsulation production process and to produce functional microcapsules with finely adapted chemical composition,capsule thickness and encapsulant volume *** microcapsules could slowly release drugs after adhering to the intestine,and their effectiveness and safety were further evaluated using cell culture studies and animal model *** results from the in vivo and in vitro experiments showed a significant reduction in administration frequency(i.e.,from daily medication to once every five days),superior therapeutic efficacy and sufficient safety of these microcapsules in cell culture and APP/Ps1 *** features make the microcapsules an excellent drug delivery system and represent great potential for clinical applications in AD.

Effect of adjusted mesoscale drag model on flue gas desulfurization in powder-particle spouted beds

An energy minimum multiscale model was adjusted to simulate the mesoscale structure of the flue gas desulfurization process in a powder-particle spouted bed and verified *** obtained results revealed that the spout morphology simulated by the adjusted mesoscale drag model was unstable and discontinuous bubbling spout unlike the stable continuous spout obtained using the Gidaspow *** addition,more thorough gas radial mixing was achieved using the adjusted mesoscale drag *** mass fraction of water in the gas mixture at the outlet determined by the heterogeneous drag model was 1.5 times higher than that obtained by the homogeneous drag model during the simulation of water *** the desulfurization reaction,the experimental desulfurization efficiency was 75.03%,while the desulfurization efficiencies obtained by the Gidaspow and adjusted mesoscale drag models were 47.63%and 75.08%,respectively,indicating much higher accuracy of the latter technique.
