Granular acid-activated neutralized red mud(AaN-RM)has been successfully prepared with good chemical stability and physical ***,its potential for industrial application remains ***,the performance of granular AaN-RM for phosphate recovery in a fixed-bed column was *** results demonstrated that the phosphate adsorption performance of granular AaN-RM in a fixed-bed column was affected by various operational parameters,such as the bed depth,flow rate,initial solution pH and initial phosphate *** the optimal empty-bed contact time(EBCT)of 24.27 min,the number of processed bed volumes and the phosphate adsorption capacity reached 496.95 and 84.80 mg/g,***,the saturated fixed-bed column could be effectively regenerated with a0.5 mol/L HCl *** desorption efficiency remained as high as 83.45%with a low weight loss of 3.57%in the fifth regeneration *** addition,breakthrough curve modelling showed that a 5-9-1 feed-forward artificial neural network(ANN)could be effectively applied for the optimization of the fixed-bed adsorption system;the coefficient of determination(R^2)and the root mean square error(RMsE)evaluated on the validation-testing data were 0.9987 and 0.0183,***,granular AaN-RM fixed-bed adsorption exhibits promising potential for phosphate removal and recovery from polluted water.

Ultra-small size metal nanoparticles(u-MNPs)have broad applications in the fields of catalysis,biomedicine and energy ***,by means of a ligand-controlled synthesis strategy,series of Ru-based NPs with high dispersity and ultra-small size(marked as u-Ru/C),or sparse and aggregated state(marked as a-Ru/C)anchored on the surface of hollow porous carbon shells are *** in-situ thermogravimetry-mass spectrometry-Fourier transform infrared spectra tests suggest that the different ligands in these Ru-based precursors can regulate the nucleation,growth and fixation of metal sites during the pyrolysis process,thus contributing to Ru NPs with various size and *** a result,when applied to hydrogen evolution reaction,the u-Ru-1/C catalyst displays a low Tafel slope of 26 mV dec-1,overpotential of 31 mV(at 10 mA cm^(-2))and a large exchange current density of 1.7 mA cm^(-2) in 1.0 M KOH,significantly better than that of the a-Ru-2/C,hollow carbon and even commercial 20%Pt/*** is mainly because that the u-Ru-1/C sample owns both smaller particle size,more electrochemical active sites,higher intrinsic activity and optimized surface H adsorption ability than that of the a-Ru-2/C *** ligand-modulated growth strategy is not only applicable to Ru,but also can be extended to other similar metals,offering a step forward in the design and synthesis of highly dispersed u-MNPs.

BACKGROUND:The incidence of hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage(HICH)has been increasing during the recent years in low-and middle-income *** high mortality and morbidity rates,it brings huge burden to the *** lacks evidence regarding the application of intracranial pressure(ICP)monitoring in *** the current study,the authors aimed to evaluate whether ICP monitoring could make any difference on the prognosis of HICH patients after minimally invasive ***:A retrospective review of 116 HICH patients admitted to the second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University school of Medicine,between 2014 and 2016,was *** effects of ICP monitoring on 6-month mortality and favorable outcomes were evaluated by univariate and logistic regression ***:ICP monitors were inserted into 50 *** with ICP monitoring had a significantly better outcome(Pspital duration in patients with ICP monitoring was shorter than that in the patients without ICP monitoring(16.68 days vs.20.47 days,Ps between ICP monitoring and no ICP monitoring did not differ significantly(16.0%vs.15.1%,P=0.901).On univariate analysis,age,Glasgow Coma scale(GCs)on admission and presence of ICP monitor were independent predictors of 6-month favorable ***:ICP monitoring is associated with a better 6-month functional outcome compared with no ICP *** study is still needed to confirm our results and elucidate which subgroup of HICH patients will benefit most from the minimally invasive surgical intervention and ICP monitoring.

The structure and properties of functional nanoparticles are important for stabilizing Pickering emulsion ***,cellulose nanocrystals(CNCs)are increasingly favored as a bio-based stabilizer for Pickering *** this study,we reported a novel functionalized polyphosphoester-grafted CNCs for the stabilization of oil-in-water Pickering emulsions and the emulsion polymerization of ***,polyphosphoester containing an amino group at one end of the chain,abbreviated as PBYP-NH2,was prepared by ring-opening polymerization(ROP)and hydrolysis reaction,wherein PBYP represents poly[2-(but-3-yn-1-yloxy)-2-oxo-1,3,2-dioxaphospholane].subsequently,CNC-COOH was obtained via 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl(TEMPO)oxidation of *** functionalized nanocrystals CNC-PBYP-COOH with carboxyl groups and polyphosphoester on the surface were obtained by the amidation reaction of PBYP-NH2 with ***,we used CNC-PBYP-COOH as sole particle emulsifiers to stabilize styrene-in-water Pickering emulsions and studied its effects on the emulsions in details by using dynamic light scattering(DLs).The results indicated that the properties of these emulsions depended on the concentration of hydrophobically modified CNCs,volume ratios of oil to water,and pH *** modified CNCs had higher ability to stabilize the styrene-in-water emulsions relative to the unmodified CNCs,and a stable oil-in-water(o/w)Pickering emulsion with diameter of hundreds of nanometers could be *** resulting emulsions could be polymerized to yield nanosized *** polyphosphoester-modified CNCs as green particle emulsifiers can efficiently stabilize nanoemulsions and latexes,which would promote the development of novel environmentally friendly materials.

By using household survey data, this paper examines the effect of legal knowledge, a proxy for farmers＇ ability to protect their land, on agricultural development in rural China. The Ordinary Least square （OLs） estimation results indicate that legal knowledge in a household raises agricultural production. Further, once the production effect of legal knowledge is controlled for, the objective measure of land expropriation has no production effect. These results survive for alternative measures of legal knowledge and subsample analysis. A two-stage least squares strategy further confirms that the effect of legal knowledge on farm production is causal. A preliminary channel analysis suggests that the impact of legal knowledge on farm production works mainly through farmyard manure investments and labor incentives.

Elbow resistance is an important part of energy consumption in ventilation and air conditioning(VAC)*** considering the structural characteristics of bat wings and humpback whale pectoral fins,a simplified leading edge for sawtooth guide vanes is *** on the theory of fluid mechanics,the resistance reduction mechanism of the sawtooth guide vane is *** numerical calculation results show that proper sawtooth groove parameters for the guide vane can effectively reduce the elbow *** with that for a normal guide vane,the maximum resistance can be reduced by approximately 9%with the new *** addition,we analyze the influence of the sawtooth guide vane on the entropy production of the duct elbow and the relationship between entropy production and the resistance of the duct ***,the resistance reduction performance of the sawtooth guide vane is verified through full-scale tests.

The Multi-Key Fully Homomorphic Encryption (MKFHE) based on the NTRU cryptosystem is an important alternative to the post-quantum cryptography due to its simple scheme form,high efficiency,and fewer ciphertexts and *** 2012,Lopez-Alt et *** the first NTRU-type MKFHE scheme,the LTV12 scheme,using the key-switching and modulus-reduction techniques,whose security relies on two assumptions:the Ring Learning With Error (RLWE) assumption and the Decisional small Polynomial Ratio (DsPR) ***,the LTV12and subsequent NTRU-type schemes are restricted to the family of power-of-2 cyclotomic rings,which may affect the security in the case of subfield ***,the key-switching technique of the LTV12 scheme requires a circular application of evaluation keys,which causes rapid growth of the error and thus affects the circuit *** this paper,an NTRU-type MKFHE scheme over prime cyclotomic rings without key-switching is proposed,which has the potential to resist the subfield attack and decrease the error exponentially during the homomorphic evaluating ***,based on the RLWE and DsPR assumptions over the prime cyclotomic rings,a detailed analysis of the factors affecting the error during the homomorphic evaluations in the LTV12 scheme is ***,a Low Bit Discarded&Dimension Expansion of Ciphertexts (LBD&DEC) technique is proposed,and the inherent homomorphic multiplication decryption structure of the NTRU is proposed,which can eliminate the key-switching operation in the LTV12 ***,a leveled NTRU-type MKFHE scheme is developed using the LBD&DEC and modulus-reduction *** analysis shows that the proposed scheme compared to the LTV12 scheme can decrease the magnitude of the error exponentially and minimize the dimension of ciphertexts.

Aging diagnosis of batteries is essential to ensure that the energy storage systems operate within a safe *** paper proposes a novel cell to pack health and lifetime prognostics method based on the combination of transferred deep learning and Gaussian process *** health indicators are extracted from the partial discharge *** sequential degradation model of the health indicator is developed based on a deep learning framework and is migrated for the battery pack degradation *** future degraded capacities of both battery pack and each battery cell are probabilistically predicted to provide a comprehensive lifetime ***,only a few separate battery cells in the source domain and early data of battery packs in the target domain are needed for model *** results show that the lifetime prediction errors are less than 25 cycles for the battery pack,even with only 50 cycles for model fine-tuning,which can save about 90%time for the aging ***,it largely reduces the time and labor for battery pack *** predicted capacity trends of the battery cells connected in the battery pack accurately reflect the actual degradation of each battery cell,which can reveal the weakest cell for maintenance in advance.

spinal cord injuries have profound detrimental effects on individuals, regardless of whether they are caused by trauma or non-traumatic events. The compromised regeneration of the spinal cord is primarily attributed to damaged neurons, inhibitory molecules, dysfunctional immune response, and glial scarring. Unfortunately, currently, there are no effective treatments available that can fully repair the spinal cord and improve functional outcomes. Nevertheless, numerous pre-clinical approaches have been studied for spinal cord injury recovery, including using biomaterials, cells, drugs, or technological-based strategies. Combinatorial treatments, which target various aspects of spinal cord injury pathophysiology, have been extensively tested in the last decade. These approaches aim to synergistically enhance repair processes by addressing various obstacles faced during spinal cord regeneration. Thus, this review intends to provide scientists and clinicians with an overview of pre-clinical combinatorial approaches that have been developed toward the solution of spinal cord regeneration as well as update the current knowledge about spinal cord injury pathophysiology with an emphasis on the current clinical management.
