A Data Mining Based Approach to Customer Behaviour in an electronic Settings

The understanding of customer incidents and behaviour is crucial to the success of any organization. evidence from literature shows a prediction pattern of products to customer. These studies predicted product characteristics leaving out the customers characteristics. To address this gap, this study aims to design datamining system and implement it on an electronic commerce organization website. The customer information and history (clickstreams) from the electronic commerce website was used to predict the customers’ behaviour. This will give meaningful and usable data patterns to organizations. Python programming language was used to design the datamining system, while PHP, HTML, and JavaScript were used for the e-commerce website. A brief description of the background of e-commerce and data mining, previous work of researchers who have worked on data mining in e-commerce settings, was reviewed and the relationship between their findings and this work was established. The data mining system utilizes consensus clustering technique and the clustering algorithm with a graphical-based approach. Furthermore, the interaction between the data mining system and the customer’s dataset on an ecommerce website was defined. Quantitative evidence for determining the number and membership of possible customer behavioural clusters within the dataset was generated.

Context: The resistance to pyrethroids in malaria vectors continues to grow in Africa and could therefore compromise or reduce substantially the effectiveness of LLINs in preventing malaria. It is therefore of paramount importance to evaluate the protective efficacy of LLINs in children sleeping in areas of vector resistance to insecticides in order to draw lessons for future interventions. This study assesses the effect of the use of LLINs on malaria morbidity in clusters of low and high resistance of vectors to pyrethroids. Methods: This is a cross-sectional case-control study with one control for one case that was conducted in the communes of Kétou, Ifangni, Kétou, and Pobè in the Plateau department of southern Benin. The use of LLINs and malaria morbidity was measured and compared in children from clusters of low and high vector resistance to insecticides. In each commune, 30 cases and 30 controls were recruited for a total of 240 children under 5 years of age from villages with low and high insecticide resistance. Results: According to the localities of origin of the children, of all parents of children surveyed, 169 (70.4%) asserted the children slept under an LLIN the day before they arrived at the health center. This rate represents 70.8% (85 children) among the cases and 70.0% (84 children) among the controls without significant difference (p = 0.8). The use of LLINs the day before the survey, the frequency of their use during the two weeks preceding the day of the survey, their availability at the household level, the use of other tools for protection against mosquito bites are the same in the two groups of children (cases and controls) (p > 0.05) as well in low and high resistance villages. The widespread use of long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) is a major intervention method for malaria control. While coverage of LLINs has increased, there is a need for information on the operational effectiveness of nets deployed in the field in the context of malaria vector resistance to insecticides used for impregnation. The development of specific anti-malarial biomarkers to assess exposure to mosquito bites is an important development in evaluations. The aim of this study was to characterize the human IgG antibody response to Anopheles gSG6-P1 saliva, a salivary peptide antigen previously shown to be a relevant biomarker of human exposure to Anopheles bites, in order to assess the LLINs under field conditions in areas of low and high vector resistance to insecticides. We analyzed data from 240 randomly selected children ( 0.05). Furthermore, the same finding was observed for antibody expression in children whether or not they used LLINs on the day before the survey (p = 0.7724). Similarly, gender and especially age, major factors of variation in the adaptive immune response, did not have a significant effect on IgG expression.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has a poor prognosis with limited therapeutic o ptions. We propose that local immune responses in patients with HCC are held in check by tumorinfiltrating CD4+CD25+T-regulatory lymphocytes(Treg cells),which suppress the activity and proliferation of effector CD4+and CD8 +T cells. The phenotype and cell cycle status of tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte s (TILs) in HCC were analyzed via immunohistochemistry of sections from patients undergoing surgery for HCC and via flow cytometry of peripheral blood mononucle ar cells and TILs isolated from patients with *** and tumor-infiltr ating T-cell function and activation status were assessed via proliferation and flow cytometry. More than 96%of TILs were quiescent as measured via Mcm-2 or Ki-67 expression, while less than 10%of CD8+T cells expressed perform or gran zyme B. CD4+CD25+Treg cells comprised 8.7%(1.4-13.8) of TILs and always exce ed- ed the proportion in distant nontumor tissue (2.4%[1.5-5.6]; P = .014). Treg cells isolated from HCC suppressed proliferation of autologous circulating CD4 +CD25-cells and perforin expression and proliferation of autologous CD8+T cel ls. The proportion of circulating Treg cells in patients with HCC was similar in healthy controls(7.2%[1.2-23.3] and 9.2%[1.6-30.2], respectively), but the proportion of circulating Treg cells that were also transforming growth factor β1+was elevated in HCC compared with controls(55.5%[8.2-73.9] and 2.0%[0-4 .9], respectively; P = .003). In conclusion, TILs are compromised and contain a subpopulation of suppressive CD4+ CD25+Foxp3+Treg cells. Functional deletion of tumor-infiltrating Treg cells could enhance tumor specific immunot- herapy.

Background and Purpose -With the changes in management of atrial fibrillation (AF) over time, it is possible that the time trends of post-AF stroke incidenc e and mortality have changed. We sought to determine whether the incidence and survival of ischemic stroke after AF diagnosis have improved. Methods -We identified the Olmsted County, Minn, residents who developed first AF from 1980 to 2000 and followed them in medical records to 2004. The outcomes were first ischemic stroke and death. Results -Of the 4117 subjects diagnosed with first AF and without previous stroke, 446 (11%) sustained a first ischemic stroke during a mea n follow-up time of 5.5±5.0 years. The age-and sex-adjusted incidence of str oke decreased, on average, by 3.4%per year (P=0.0001), concurrent with an increase in warfarin and aspirin use (both P eduction of systolic blood pressure (P e age-adjusted ischemic stroke incidence was higher in women (P=0.039), but not after adjusting for systolic blood pressure (P=0.41). Compared with the general Minnesota white population, the relative mortality hazard ratio was 1.88 for men and 1.84 for women without stroke and 3.03 for men and 3.80 for women (P oke. The relative mortality hazard did not vary by age or calendar year of AF diagnosis. Conclusions -Post-AF ischemic stroke incidence decreased significantly from 1980 to 2000, during which time a substantial increase in the use of antithrombotic therapy and reduction of systolic blood pressure was evident. The relative mortality risk of stroke, however, had not improved over time.
