The identification of jets originating from.quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an im.ortant role in various analyses perform.d at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard m.del m.asurem.nts and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the m.asurem.nt of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated lum.nosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high perform.nces in rejecting jets from.gluon over jets from.quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirem.nts on the num.er of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other com.ines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A m.thod is established to determ.ne the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsam.les defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and sim.lation are provided for jets with transverse m.m.ntum.between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for m.ltiple tagger working points.

TDDFT Studies of Electronic structure and First Hyperpolarizability of Tetra-nuclear Cubane-like Transition m.tal Clusters

The TDDFT m.thod is first applied in a series of tetra-nuclear transition m.tal clusters studies for nonlinear optical properties. The results indicate that the charge transfer inside the m.tal core [m.u3X4] (m.W, m.; X=S, O, Cl, Se, br) m.kes contribution to the optical nonlinearity. It is possible to enhance the hyperpolarizability by substituting the ligands of the clusters.

Risk Factors for Surgical Site Infection after Hip Arthroplasty: A m.lticentric Study

The objective of this study is to answer three m.in questions: What is the risk of wound infection for patients undergoing hip arthroplasty? What are the m.in etiologicagents of surgical site infection (SSI)? What are the risk factors m.st associated with surgical site infection? m.thod: This was a m.lticentric, retrospective cohort study which analyzed data collected in five general hospitals in Belo Horizonte, brazil, between the period of January 2009 and Decem.er 2013. The continuous param.ters studied were age, length of hospital stay before surgery, duration of surgery, num.er of professionals at surgery and num.er of hospital adm.ssions. Categorical variables were surgical wound classification (clean, clean contam.nated, contam.nated, dirty/infected), Am.rican Society of Anesthesiologists (Asa) score (I, II, III, IV, V), type of surgery (elective, em.rgency), general anesthesia (yes, no), prophylactic antibiotic (yes, no), traum. surgery (yes, no) and Nosocom.al Infections Surveillance (NNIS) risk index (IRIC = 0, 1, 2, 3). Results: Estim.ted SSI risk was 3.2% (95% C.I. = 2.6% to 4.1%) and risk of osteom.elitis was 0.6% (95% C.I. = 0.4% to 1.1%). Asa score > 2, general anesthesia, length of hospital stay before surgery higher than four days, m.re than two professionals at surgical field and duration of surgery higher than five hours were risk factors for SSI after hip prosthesis (p m.ltiple logistic regression analysis indicated that the m.dified NNIS risk was independently associated with surgical site infection after arthroplasty of hip. Conclusion: Despite the m.dified NNIS index being a risk factor for SSI, none of its independent variables was statistically significantly in the logistic m.del (p > 0.100). Each m.dified NNIS risk category increased the chance of a patient being infected by alm.st three tim.s, when com.ared with the previous category (OR = 2.82;p = 0.011).
