le="text-align:justify;"> Objective: The work aimed to describe the etiological and evolutionary aspects of cardiogenic shock in the intensive care unit of the cardiology department (USIC) of the G-spot hospital in Bamako, Mali. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive cross-sectional study from January 1, 2018 to April 30, 2019 that included all patients admitted to the USIC during this period. Each patient benefited from individual data support with systematic recording of socio-demographic, clinical, complementary and therapeutic data and analyzed with the SOFTWARE SPSS 20.0 French version. Results: The study involved 40 patients out of 311 patients hospitalized in USIC, representing a hospital frequency of 12.86%. Males were the most affected (60%) with a sex ratio of 1.50. The modal class was 41 - 60 years with extremes at 18 years and 89 years. Cardiovascular risk factors were dominated by HTA (27.50%), diabetes and tobacco, each with 22.50%. The general signs were tachycardia (90%), oxygen desaturation (77.50%), impregnable blood pressure (62.50%), agitation (52.50%) and an oliguria (70%). At the electrocardiogram the rhythm was sinus (80%), it was an atrial fibrillation (15%), a ventricular tachycardia (10%) and signs of coronary ischemia (necrosis in 35% and ST over shifted in 20% of cases). At cardiac doppler ultrasound,the left ventricle was dilated (50%), the right cavities dilated (30%), segmental kinetic disorder (40%), the left ventricular systolic function (FEVG) impaired (75%) and valve disease (10%). Biology noted hyper-creatinemia (65%), hyper-glycemia (12.50%), anemia and hyponatremia with 20% frequency each. Among etiology, ischemic heart disease accounted for 57.50% followed by pulmonary embolism 20%, dilated valve cardiomyopathy 7.50% and chronic pulmonary heart 2.50%. Multiscale Nanorod Metamaterials and Realizable Permittivity Tensors

Our aim is to evidence new 3D composite diffractive structures whose effective permittivity tensor can exhibit very large positive or negative real eigenvalues.We use a reiterated homogenization procedure in which the first step consists in considering a bounded obstacle made of periodically disposed parallel high conducting metallic fibers of finite length and very thin cross section.As shown in[2],the resulting constitutive law is non-local.Then by reproducing periodically the same kind of obstacle at small scale,we obtain a local effective law described by a permittivity tensor that we make explicit as a function of the frequency.Due to internal resonances,the eigenvalues of this tensor have real part that change of sign and are possibly very large within some range of frequencies.Numerical simulations are shown.

Hydrodynamic Characteristics of the Continental Intercalaire and Continental Hamadien Aquifer Systems in the Iullemeden Basin of Tahoua Region Republic of Niger

This study was conducted in the region of Tahoua the northeastern part of the Southern Illulemeden sedimentary basin. In this region the transboundary aquifer system of Continental Intercalaire (CI) and the Continental Hamadien (CH) are potentially rich in underground water especially in free and captive aquifers. More, this water is the main source of drinking water for the populations, the animals and for agriculture and extractive industries. However, the population growth, the agricultural development, and the climate change have a real impact on the dynamics of groundwater and the exploitation of these resources. Hence, this study aims at analyzing the behavior of aquifers and assessing the impact of various natural and anthropogenic factors. Especially it matters to analyze the drilling parameters and cuttings, logging data and pumping test of nine new boreholes. The results reveal that the depths equipped with boreholes catching the CI/CH complex vary from 70 to 800 meters from East to West while the average thickness of the reservoir CH is 50 meters and it mainly consists of coarse sandstone. Drilling penetrated more than 100 meters into the CI without reaching the base. The CI tank is composed of several layers of gravel and clay whilst the CI/CH aquifers flow rates range from 0.2 to 22.8 m3/h/m. So this is cause of great variability of the water potential within this aquifer. lastly, the transmissivity coefficients are more important in the CH than in the CI, and the water flow average rates range respectively from 29 m/year to 7 m/year.
