Learning to Support Derivation of Adaptable Products in Software Product Lines

Software product line engineering is a large scale development paradigm based on mass production. It consists in building a common platform from which a set of products can be derived. Under the constraints of continuous evolution and costs optimization, the derivation process must be able to answer customers’ requirements and provide adequate products in a short time without defects. However, this purpose cannot be achieved if the customer must wait for the change is implemented in the common platform. In this paper, we describe our work which proposes a framework to manage derivation of adaptable products. An adaptable product is obtained by deriving the most similar product from the common platform and changing it to support the new requirements. The aim of the framework is to give quick response to the customers need while the new requirements are being implemented in the common platform. The framework includes tools for processing natural language requirements, computing the similarity between products on the basis of their requirements, and the product adaptation effort measuring.

This paper deals with a qualitative and computational study of a class of integrodifferential model, with a nonlinear growth rate. The model is applied to immunology problems, in particular to the competition between tumors and immune system. Our purpose is to take into account the activity transfer processes bet ween cells. The first part of this paper deals with the modeling, while the second part develops the existence and uniqueness of global solutions to the initial boundary value problem related to the application of the model. Finally, numerical simulations are used to illustrate the results obtained for a dynamic of tumor cells contrasted by the immune system.

Efficiency of combining pomegranate juice with low-doses of cisplatin and taxotere on A549 human lung adenocarcinoma cells

Objective: To test the coalescence effect of two chemotherapy drugs at low effective dose(cisplatin and taxotere) combined with pomegranate juice on A549 cancer cells. Methods: Infrared spectroscopy method is a qualitative test that was performed to ensure the existence of the phytochemicals providing the antioxidant activity through the presence of the hydroxyl group(-OH). The viability of A549 cell line and normal MCs was tested using the neutral red uptake, Clonogenic survival, XTT and Cell migration assays. Results: Our results showed that this combination firstly led to a greater decrease in the viability of cells comparing to those treated with chemotherapy drugs alone, and secondly led to a significant reduction in cell migration. Conclusions: These data suggest a synergistic effect between the pomegranate and cisplatin which makes probably this combination a powerful option for treating lung adenocarcinoma and in parallel minimizing the systemic side effects.

近年来,破囊壶菌作为脂肪酸生产的可持续和可再生来源,在世界范围内受到广泛关注。但目前破囊壶菌脂肪酸的生产效率仍然较低,限制了其工业生产。植物激素在信号传导及抗逆反应中发挥着重要作用。在培养基中添加植物激素,可调节微藻的生长及脂肪酸的合成过程,进而有效提高脂肪酸生产效率,但关于植物激素对破囊壶菌影响的研究则很少。本研究首先选取了赤霉素、吲哚乙酸、激动素、脱落酸和水杨酸等五种典型植物激素,测定了它们对两株破囊壶菌Schizochytrium ***#Mn4和Thraustochytriidae ***#SW8在M4和碳源优化培养基中生物量及油脂积累的影响,并对植物激素的浓度及添加时间进行了优化;然后,对氮源种类及浓度进行了优化,确定了适于脂肪酸生产的限氮培养基;最后,分析评价了这些植物激素在限氮条件下对两株破囊壶菌生物量及油脂产量的影响。在0h添加激动素（5 mg/L）和吲哚乙酸（1 mg/L）使PKU#Mn4的生物量分别提高了31%和23%。然而,与对照组相比,脂肪酸的产量增加了32%和30%。吲哚乙酸（1 mg/L）对PKU#Sw8的生物量和脂肪酸产量的影响较其它植物激素显著,分别提高了1.07倍和1.34倍。添加植物激素的效果也显示出时间依赖性。在培养PKU#Mn4的第48 h添加吲哚乙酸（1 mg/L）、在培养PKU#Sw8的24 h添加激动素（0.1 mg/L）,可以产生更高的生物量和脂肪酸产量。事实上,与0 h试验结果相比,在48 h添加吲哚乙酸和24 h添加激动素使PKU#Mn4的生物量和脂肪酸产量分别增加20%和33%,使PKU#Sw8的生物量和脂肪酸产量分别增加51%和34%。为了进一步提高生物量和脂肪酸产量,我们以酵母提取物（0.5-1 g/L）和蛋白胨（0.5-1.5 g/L）为氮源,分析评价了氮优化条件下植物激素的添加效果。结果表明,激动素（4 mg/L）和酵母提取物（1g/L）联合使用可提高PKU#Mn4菌株的生物量和脂肪酸产量,分别比不添加植物激素的M4优化培养基提高31%和30%。同时,酵母抽提物、蛋白胨和激动素（5 mg/L）联合使用可使PKU#Sw8菌株的生物量和脂肪酸产量分别提高29%和27%。本研究表明,添加植物激素是促进破囊壶菌生物量和脂肪酸生产的一个颇有前景的策略。

Removal of Methylene Blue from Water Using Hydroxyapatite Submitted to Microwave Irradiation

This study investigated the power of hydroxyapatite adsorbent prepared by a combined precipitation-microwave method, for removing a cationic dye methylene blue in aqueous media. The used adsorbent was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (IR). The adsorption tests were conducted in batch mode. The effect of temperature, the pH of the solution and the mass of the adsorbent on the adsorption were determined. It is found that the adsorption was pH and temperature dependent. The kinetic study showed that the second-order model gives a better description of the kinetics of the adsorption reaction than the first-order model. Analysis of adsorption isotherms using different classical models showed that adsorption may be governed by the isotherms of Langmuir. The thermodynamic parameters were determined from the values of the maximum adsorption capacity and equilibrium constants.

Impact of Dietary Lactobacillus plantarum Postbiotics on the Performance of Layer Hens under Heat Stress Conditions

This experiment was conducted to determine the performance of heat-stressed layers fed a diet containing the probiotic Lactobacillus plantarum RS5 or its products of fermentation (postbiotics). Twenty-week-old Isa White layers, were subdivided into six treatments of 32 individually caged birds. Half of the birds were reared under regular temperature conditions, while the other half was subjected to cyclic daily heat stress. Layers were offered one of three diets: 1) Control;2) Control + Lactobacillus plantarum RS5 probiotic;3) Control + Lactobacillus plantarum RS5 postbiotics. Birds were tested for performance and visceral organ development for 5 months. Heat stress negatively affected the birds’ feed intake, egg weight, shell weight percentage, Haugh unit, shell thickness, yolk color, body weight and spleen weight percentage. Postbiotics significantly increased egg production (p ely). Birds under probiotic or postbiotic diet showed a significantly higher (p ell thickness didn’t show differences among dietary groups. The Haugh Unit was significantly higher (p < 0.05) in probiotic group which also showed a significantly lower yolk color index (p < 0.05). The different feed treatments did not impact the bird’s viscera weight percentage, except for the ileum that was significantly lower (p < 0.05) under postbiotic supplementation. Both probiotics and postbiotics could be used as a potential growth promoters and might alleviate heat stress impact in poultry industry.

This paper presents a contribution related to the control of nonlinear variable-speed marine current turbine(MCT)without pitch operating below the rated marine current *** that the operation of the MCT can be divided into several operating zones on the basis of the marine current speed,the system control objectives are different for each *** deal with this issue,we develop a new control approach based on a linear quadratic regulator with variable generator *** proposed approach enables the optimization of the rotational speed of the turbine,which maximizes the power extracted by the MCT and minimizes the transient loads on the *** novelty of our study is the use of a real profile of marine current speed from the northern coasts of *** simulation results obtained using MATLAB Simulink indicate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed control approach on the electrical and mechanical parameters with the variations of marine current speed.

Physicians’knowledge about radiation protection of patients during prescription of CT scan procedures in Morocco

Objective:To evaluate the knowledge and practices of Moroccan physicians in terms of radioprotection of patients when prescribing computed tomography(CT)***:This is a cross-sectional study in which a questionnaire with 23 multiple-choice questions was sent to prescribers of CT examinations such as radiotherapists(RMs),other medical specialists(OMSs),general practitioners(GPs)and residents/interns(R/Is).The first eight questions asked about the demographics of the participants,while the remaining questions asked about knowledge of ionizing radiation examinations,doses received,relative risks,and patient radiation safety ***:A total of 223 physicians participated in this *** therapists,considered as the reference group,had a better knowledge of irradiating and non-irradiating imaging compared to the other groups(P=0.003).Thus,67%of the reference group declared to take into account the number of scans performed by the patient during the last year,unlike the other groups(P=0.002).Furthermore,the knowledge of the different groups about the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation was globally low(2%)(P=0.73).Regardless of their specialties and seniority,only 12%of the participants informed the patient at the time of prescription about the risks of ***,only 21%of the participants declared having had training in radiation protection,with no significant differences between the subgroups(P=0.832).Conclusions:The results obtained are similar to those reported in previous *** show that Moroccan prescribers have a low level of knowledge of the risks associated with CT *** on patient radiation protection should be included in the initial curriculum of interns and the continuing professional development of physicians should be reinforced.
