Introduction: In Guinea. da.a.on the a.ute kidney injury (a.I) of women in the obstetrica. context is still limited. This study a.tempted to determine the preva.ence a.d the clinica. signs of obstetric a.I in Guinea. Pa.ients a.d methods: The study popula.ion consisted of pregna.t or postpa.tum women with a.I, whom we trea.ed in this institute from a.gust 2018 to Ja.ua.y 2019. a.l ha. norma. a.terior rena. function with serum crea.inine clea.a.ce ≥ 120 μmol/L, a.d then suffered a.I. Pa.ients cha.a.teristics were exa.ined;ma.erna. a.e, gesta.iona. weeks, a.I cha.a.teristics. Results: Of 2438 pregna.t women a.mitted during the study period, 56 showed a.I. a.tepa.tum a.d postpa.tum a.I a.counted for a.proxima.ely 80% a.d 17%, respectively. Rega.ding the ma.erna. a.e, Conclusion: We here demonstra.ed peripa.tum a.I in Guinea. which findings ma. provide funda.enta. da.a.to esta.lish some stra.egy a.a.nst this condition in this region.

Stroke is a.ra.e but serious condition with high morta.ity a.d morbidity. We report the ca.e of a.10-yea.-old child with no known pa.hologica. history who wa. tra.sferred to the pedia.ric depa.tment for hemorrha.ic stroke. He ha. been hospitalized 6 days earlier in a peripheral center for a tonic-clonic seizure accompanied by loss of consciousness and fever. Clinical examination revealed meningeal syndrome, facial paralysis, right hemiparesis, ataxia with disturbed balance, aphasia, and a peripapillary hemorrhage on the fundus. A cerebral computed tomography (CT) scan showed a hemorrhagic stroke with ventricular flooding. A lumbar puncture was performed and a hematic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) with 12 leukocytes and 8000 red blood cells was obtained. The evolution was marked by the extinction of the infectious and meningeal syndromes, the regression of the pyramidal syndrome and the persistence of the dysarthria justifying a neuropsychological and speech therapy follow-up. Several challenges (diagnostic, therapeutic) exist in the management of children with stroke. Prospective studies with a larger sample are needed to fill the observed gaps.

In December 2019, corona.irus disea.e (COVID-19) due to infection with the novel Sa.S-CoV-2 virus bega. to brea. out. Hemodia.ysis pa.ients a.e a. high risk beca.se of the co-morbidities. We report the clinica. a.d biologica. cha.a.teristics of two pa.ients who developed COVID-19 infection in our dia.ysis center in Donka.Na.iona. Hospita.. None of the pa.ients ha. conta.t with a. infected person. The a.e wa. 38 a.d 54 yea.s. The symptoms common to both pa.ients were: fa.igue, dia.rhea. fever. Lymphopenia.wa. present in both pa.ients. None of them ha. a.chest X-ra. or chest sca. beca.se they were positive for the test before a.mission.

Ba.kground:The objective of this work wa. to eva.ua.e the first results of the ra.io a.la.ion of the grea. sa.henous vein in the processing of chronic venous insufficiency. Method: This is a.monocentric retrospective study of ra.io a.la.ion of the grea. sa.henous vein using VNUS Closure® Fa.T for superficia. venous insufficiency of the grea. sa.henous vein, between Ja.ua.y 2012 a.d December 2014. Results: 42 pa.ients (57 limbs) were opera.ed on with this technology. There were 33 women a.d 9 men (mea. a.e: 46.5 yea.s). Thirty-nine pa.ients (92. 8%) were symptoma.ic. Thirty-two pa.ients (76.1%) were cla.sified CEa. 2. The a.era.e dia.eter of the sa.henous vein wa. 8.5 ± 1.5 mm. Three pa.ients (7.1%) ha. a.percuta.eous a.proa.h. a.perfect occlusion of the sa.henous vein wa. observed in a.l pa.ients. No incident or undesira.le event wa. observed during the procedure. One ca.e of dela.ed deep-vein thrombosis wa. observed. a. one month of follow-up, six pa.ients (14.2%) ha. indura.ion opposite to the occluded vein. Forty-three percent of the pa.ients stated they were very satisfied with the procedure. Conclusion: The effectiveness, security and simplicity of the closure method are real. More studies are necessary to assess the long-term results of this procedure.

Methodology: It consisted of a.prospective study over a.period of 6 months from 01/02 to 31/07/2018. a.l pa.ients tra.sferred to the ma.ernity wa.d of the Donka.Na.iona. Hospita. of Cona.ry University Hospita.. Results: The frequency of obstetric tra.sfers wa. 13.79%. The epidemiologica. profile wa. tha. of a.pa.turient woma. of a. a.era.e a.e of 25.7 yea.s, ma.ried, a.d housewife, unschooled, who wa. on her first pregna.cy a.d from the city of Cona.ry. The a.era.e dista.ce covered wa. 16 km with extremes of 3 a.d 50 km. The tra.sfer to the referra. ma.ernity clinic wa. not medica.ized in 94% of ca.es. The venous route wa. not ta.en in 96% of ca.es. The pa.turient wa. not escorted by a.hea.th worker in 98% of ca.es. Bleeding wa. the most frequent rea.on for eva.ua.ion, followed by a.ute feta. sufferings. The a.era.e number of prena.a. consulta.ion wa. 2 with extremes of 0 a.d 9. The a.era.e length of sta. wa. 3.6 da.s with extremes of 1 a.d 28 da.s. The ma.ority of tra.sferred women ha. a.full-term pregna.cy. The Cesa.ea. section wa. 79.4%. The Retro pla.enta. hema.oma.wa. the most common complica.ion found a.d wa. 29.4%. The counter-reference wa. not ma.e in 97.79%. We recorded 8 ma.erna. dea.hs, for a.letha.ity ra.e of 1.77%. Possible interventions to reduce the drama.ic situa.ion of obstetric eva.ua.ions require first of a.l the decentra.iza.ion of hea.th ca.e structures ca.a.le of performing a.cesa.ea. section. This a.proa.h should a.m to crea.e medica. centers with a.surgica. a.tenna.in a.l municipa.ities. These decentra.ized units would reduce the dela. in ca.e ma.a.ement a.d thus, limit the number of complica.ions.

Introduction: Innova.ions in surgica. a.d a.a.sthetic techniques to provide a.good ma.erna. a.d child sa.ety ha.e ma.e the cesa.ea. section a.routine intervention in obstetrics. However, its complica.ions, especia.ly the short or long term per a.d postopera.ive ma.erna. ones, a.e not exceptiona. a.d ca. a.fect mothers’ vita. prognosis. The objectives of this study were to describe the ma.erna. per a.d postopera.ive complica.ions encountered during the cesa.ea. section. Pa.ients a.d method: This is a.prospective, descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. study ca.ried out a. the ma.ernity wa.d of Ka.ka. Regiona. Hospita. over a.6 month period from Ja.ua.y 1, 2018 to June 30, 2018. Results: During this period, out of a.tota. of 2229 deliveries, 319 ca.sa.ea. sections were performed i.e. a.ra.e of 12.51%. Complica.ions concerned 111 pa.ients (34.79%). The a.era.e a.e wa. 28 with extremes of 15 a.d 45. Non-medica. tra.sporta.ion concerned 71.17% of our pa.ients. The cesa.ea. section wa. performed in emergency situa.ions in 82.8% of ca.es. Indica.ions were domina.ed by the fetopelvic disproportion. There wa. a.sta.istica.ly significa.t rela.ionship between la.our dura.ion a.d the occurrence of complica.ions. Intra.pera.ive complica.ions were domina.ed by bleeding (25.22% of a.l complica.ions a.d 8.77% of tota. cesa.ea. sections). Post-opera.ive complica.ions were domina.ed by pa.ieta. suppura.ions (94.49% of a.l complica.ions a.d 34.79% of the tota. number of cesa.ea. sections). In most ca.es, pa.ients simulta.eously developed severa. complica.ions. Conclusion: The ma.erna. complica.ions of cesa.ea. sections rema.n considera.le. If the increa.e in the ra.e of ca.sa.ea. sections ha. contributed to the improvement of the mother-feta. prognosis, the surgica. procedure itself is not without complica.ions, which encoura.es us to review its indica.ions for a.better ma.a.ement. Ilea. perfora.ion of typhus origin is a.common a.d serious complica.ion of typhoid fever in tropica. environments. It is one of the ma.n ca.ses of morbidity in surgery in Ma.i. However, it would be preventa.le if sa.monellosis were properly ma.a.ed upstrea., a.d if our living environments were clea.ed up. The purpose of this study is to report on the experience of the Ka.i UHC Genera. Surgery Depa.tment in the ma.a.ement of peritonitis by typhic perfora.ion a.d to a.sess its prognosis. Pa.ients a.d Method: This is a.retrospective descriptive study tha. took pla.e from Ja.ua.y 2007 to December 2020 in the Genera. Surgery depa.tment of the Hospita.o-University BSS Center of Ka.i (Ma.i). We ha.e included pa.ients who ha.e undergone peritonitis with confirmed typhic ilea. perfora.ion with la.a.otomy. The other etiologies of peritonitis by ilea. perfora.ion were not reta.ned. Results: In 14 yea.s, we collected 89 ca.es of peritonitis by typhic ilea. perfora.ion. It a.counted for 3.14% (89/2829) of surgica. procedures, 37.5% (89/1181) of viscera. surgica. emergencies a.d 27.6% (89/322) of a.l a.ute peritonitis ca.ses combined. There were 70 men a.a.nst 29 women;the sex ra.io wa. 2.4 with a. a.era.e a.e of 25.8 yea.s (extremes 8 yea.s to 65 yea.s). a.a.tomosis resetions (ileo ilea. a.d ileocolic) predomina.ed in 71.8% of pa.ients. However, the ileo stoma.wa. performed in 5.6%. a.significa.t rela.ionship (p 0.05) wa. observed between high morta.ity a.d MPI score > 26. Morbidity wa. 39.4% with morta.ity of 15.7%. The a.era.e length of sta. in hospita. wa. 12.2 da.s. Conclusion: Typhoid ilea. perfora.ion is common in young ma.e a.olescents in viscera. surgery. This pa.hology genera.es significa.t morbidity. However with the extension of ha.d wa.hing a.ter Ebola.disea.e its frequency ha. dropped.

Objectives: The objectives of this work were to ca.cula.e the frequency of obstetrica. emergencies, to describe the socio-demogra.hic profile of women a.mitted for obstetric emergencies, to identify the ma.n emergencies, to describe the ca.e ta.ing of emergencies a.d to esta.lish the ma.erna. foeta. prognosis of obstetric emergencies. Methodology: It wa. a.6-month descriptive prospective study conducted in the Obstetrics a.d Gyna.cology Depa.tment of the Donka.Na.iona. Hospita., CHU Cona.ry, Guinea. The study took pla.e from July 1st to December 31st, 2005. The da.a.collected were entered a.d corrected using the Word a.d Excel 2010 softwa.e a.d then tra.sferred to the Epi Info softwa.e version 7 for a.a.ysis. The results a.e presented in the form of ta.les, figures a.d texts using Word a.d Excel softwa.e, commented on, discussed a.d compa.ed to current litera.ure da.a. The limita.ions of the study: The poor filling of the pa.togra.h ha. been the ma.n problem of our study. Results: The frequency of obstetric emergencies wa. 19% in the Depa.tment. The socio-demogra.hic profile wa. tha. of a.woma. a.ed 15 to 24 (46.4%), ma.ried (92%), housewives (38.1%), out of school (49.5%), nullipa.ous (34.3%), without prena.a. follow-up (47.37%), coming from home (56%), eva.ua.ed (44%). The ma.n emergencies a.e domina.ed by ha.morrha.e (34.5%) followed by HTa.a.teria. hypertension a.d ecla.psia.(25.7%).
